Chapter 17- Results of the Plays! Is it More than What Meets the Eye~?
~3rd person's POV~
With the end of the final play, Ringo Tsukimiya went up to the stage to announce the conclusion of the project.
"Well done everyone!!! I'm amazed at the wonderful talent each and every single one of you has as actors and actresses. Of course, that talent is what led you all here, and as students, you shall be each graded!"
Ryuuga went up and joined Ringo on the stage and added "We'll provide you all with the grades tomorrow. Expect to see them on the bulletin where you normally find your grades. Class is dismissed for today."
Everyone cheered, and went their own ways. The girls and boys soon went to hug and congratulate each other. "Oh my gosh, we did it!" Shay exclaimed while glomping her two best friends.
"I know right?!! You guys did amazing in your plays," Moonlight squealed while returning the hug.
"I agree, I loved the uniqueness that your plays had," Musical complimented while hugging the two females tightly.
"I loved how yours took a sad end, you made me feel sad when you "died" on the stage," Shay said to Musical, and refused to let her go. "Promise you won't go like that?"
Musical giggled and said, "Don't worry, I won't go down that easily. I actually like the sadness yours had in the beginning Shay-chan. And Moon-chan, your play wrapped up quite nicely. I found it tricky choosing which prince you should have ended up with." Shay nodded vigorously.
"Thanks Musical-chan, yeah, it was hard thinking of how to end the play," Moonlight admitted.
The girls were soon approached by the boys who were still in their outfits from the play.
"Awesome job you guys," Otoya said cheerfully.
"Yeah, you three are amazing actresses," Syo complimented.
"As I told them, each of your groups came up with quite the interesting plot," Tokiya said analytically.
"Yeah, your emotions felt very real," Masato added.
"These plays were so much fun to do~," Natsuki commented happily.
"Thanks," the girls said while smiling at the boys.
"We also had fun doing them," Musical commented.
"Yeah, you guys also put in a ton of effort, so congrats," Moonlight beamed.
"Yeah, this was one of the best projects I've ever had," Shay admitted.
Then, the large group were approached by Ren, Haruka and Tomochika.
"Great job everyone," Tomo-chan praised.
"You guys did a beautiful job," Haruka praised as well while smiling at the three groups.
"The romance you each had were definitely fun to see," Ren said while winking at the girls, once again earning the stares of the boys.
"Thanks, you guys also did an amazing play," Shay replied back. The group thanked the raven-haired girl.
"I'm glad you guys found our play as enjoyable as yours," Musical said while smiling. Their play focused on some adventures with two mermaids who try to escape the clutches of an evil sea warlock, who ends up falling for one of the mermaids. The mermaid and sea warlock end up together in the end of course, despite the negative outlooks the mermaid's merfriend had of their relationship. (Totally came up with that on the spot XD I might make a one-shot out of that maybe XD).
"Yeah, though it's a wonder how we managed to just make them under those past weeks," Moonlight said, thinking back on the long hours of practice.
"But it was definitely worth it," the three girls said in unison.
"I really wonder how we're going to be graded," Musical wondered, hoping that they all get a high grade.
"Well, they look for the quality of both the story line and the music, of course, as well as the appearance and the atmosphere it created," Ren informed the brunette. "But I think you've got that covered," he added with a wink.
"Jinguji," Masato deadpanned. Ren laughed and lifted his arms up while taking a step back. "There, I'm not close to her, are you happy now?" Ren asked.
"Yes," Masato answered to the suprise of the strawberry blonde. "Woah there, I see you're getting more confident, how cute."
"Ren, cut it out," Syo said while placing himself in between the bluenette and the blonde. "Sure, what ever you say shortie," Ren responded while turning away.
"I'M NOT SHORTY, YOU IDIOT!!" Syo gritted his teeth while clenching his fist. Moonlight went over to Syo and placed a hand on his shoulder. Syo looked back to see Moonlight shaking her head, saying, "Forget about it Syo, Ren is just messing with us."
Syo sighed and muttered, "I don't know what's gotten into that guy. He doesn't have to be that rude you know?"
"Hey, why don't I bake everyone some cookies?" Natsuki suggested, trying to lift the mood up. Everyone looked at the tall blonde, their complexions paling.
"Please don't," said Syo while imagining the horrid taste of the last "sweet" he was forced to eat by the cheerful boy.
"I can go help him bake them," Musical offered. She thought that if she was watching him, she'd be able to make sure he doesn't add any "special ingredients."
"Yay!!! Baking cookies with Mus-chan would be the best!" Natsuki squealed while glomping the short brunette. She squeaked and tried her best to breathe.
"I'll join them," Masato stated while trying to help release Musical from Natsuki's strong grip.
"Hey, why don't we all meet together and bake cookies and a cake even?" Shay suggested, her mind already planning on drawing the Kawaii Potato Lord on a cake or on a couple of cookies.
"That sounds like a great idea," Tokiya commented.
"Yeah, let's do it!" Otoya shouted while fist pumping the air. Moonlight giggled at Otoya's child-like excitement.
"Then let's each cook a different kind of treat," Haruka suggested. "After all, we all have a kitchen of sorts."
"Well, we don't, but we can come into one of your rooms and pair up," Tomo-chan said while wrapping an arm around Haruka and smiling. "I think we should make some chocolate~," she added while licking her lips and thinking of the delicacy known as chocolate.
"I'm sure we can use the kitchens near the dining hall," Otoya said, recalling the time he wanted to try to bake a cake with Natsuki, and discovering his talent for making such, erm, peculiar creations. He sweat dropped slightly at the memory.
"Then Natsuki, Masato, and I can make some cookies," Musical stated.
"Then Moonlight, Otoya and I can make a cake I guess," Syo said while scratching his head, trying to remember the last time he ever baked something.
"And Shay and I can hopefully work with Tomochika and Nanami-san on making chocolate," Tokiya thought. "We could make a flan if we have time, since Ms. Potato wants to probably doodle something on top of it," he added, which made the chocolate brown-eyed girl jump up and down.
"Alright, then let's get to our stations," Tomo-chan instructed.
The large group headed to the large kitchen which was pretty close by and quickly got to their own places to cook the sweets.
☆In Shay-chan's group☆
Tokiya's POV
"Alright, let's get to making chocolate," said Shay. She clasped her hands together, rubbing them up and down. Next she said, "So how do we make it?"
I shook my head, laughing silently to myself and said, "Here Shay-chan, let's look up a recipe for chocolate."
We looked up a recipe and started getting to work. Shay-chan and I were working on the batter while Haruka and Tomo-chan were working on the filling.
While I was mixing the batter, I couldn't help but start thinking about Shay and our current standing in our relationship. I haven't really confessed to her, and I'm not sure if she likes me that way, but I think I have a chance with her, right? No, I can't, the principal forbids everyone from loving or having any sort of romantic relationship with one another. I mean, we could always rebel, but I have to first know for sure if Shay likes me. I'll have to confess somehow in a secretive manner so only Shay will know.
"Tokiya, I think the batter is ready already," a sweet voice said, poking through my thoughts as if they were bubbles.
I stared down at the bowl and noticed that I managed to get a smooth texture subconsciously. "O-Ok, here," I said, handing it to the girl with the beautiful brown eyes. Her thick eyelashes came down as she smiled with her eyes closed. "The batter's great, you've done well soldier."
Shay seemed to giggle while I felt my cheeks warm up slightly. I looked away and said, "T-Thanks. Now let's paint some of the batter into the containers."
Together we started painting the chocolate substance onto the spherical containers. Once we finished, we placed them in the freezer for them to freeze for a bit. We turned the temperature lower so it would freeze quicker and soon went to check on Nanami-san and Tomochika.
◇Now onto Moonlight's group◇
Otoya's POV
"Moon-chan, can you please pass the eggs?" I asked while looking at Moonlight wearing a pink apron. Forgive me if I sound like Natsuki, but to me, she looked really adorable in that apron. Plus it matched her eyes!.
"Otoyaaaa, are you there~?" Moonlight asked while waving the eggs she had in her small delicate hands. I flushed and said, "S-Sorry, my mind was somewhere else." I accepted the eggs and blushed when our hands made contact. She also blushed, making my smile widen. I loved the way her blush complimented her face very well.
I couldn't help but think how close Moon-chan and I grew when we were making the play. The romance moments felt so realistic, though I really wanted Moonlight's character to choose mine. Or could it be that I want Moonlight to be with me? The thought made me feel a warm sensation in my stomach. When I heard Syo call out to Moonlight saying he got the cream to cover the cake, I saw Moonlight smile in Syo's direction. It pained me to see Moonlight smile for Syo for some odd reason. I think Syo likes Moonlight more than just a friend as well. I've noticed how he protects her, and not in a sibling sort of way. Uwah, I'm thinking too much about this, I shouldn't even be thinking about love in general, since that will only get me out of this school, and I want to keep seeing Moonlight.
I finally stopped mixing the ingredients and poured it into a circular container and placed it in the oven.
Syo's POV
I finished making the frosting for the cake and went over to where Moonlight was with Otoya. I couldn't help but feel jealous of how Otoya is able to make Moonlight smile. I'd like for her to give me the same amount of attention. I called out to them, saying, "I have the frosting for the cake done!"
That's when I met with Moonlight's beautiful pink orbs and saw her smile at me. Man, I would fight anything to be the only one she would smile at. From the corner of my eyes, I could see Otoya deep in thought, a rare slight frown plastered onto his face. I'm guessing he's annoyed that I've got Moonlight's attention. I want to say that I don't feel slightly prideful, but, sadly I do. I get the feeling that Otoya and I both love Moonlight. If that's the case, then I'm going to fight my way to have the one I love love me back. Those feelings that developed more through the plays weren't created in vain.
Moonlight got close to my face as she tried to get my attention.
"Syo, are you in la la land as well?"
I shook my head vigorously and said, "N-Nah, I was just thinking about how we should design the cake, that's all."
Moonlight smiled once more, and said, "I bet you'll come up with an amazing style for the cake, knowing you."
I blushed at the commented and then smirked, saying "You bet!"
We heard a "ding!" from the oven, and both Moonlight and I reached for the oven. My hand touched hers, and we looked at each other. I just barely managed to say what I was intending to say.
"Careful, you haven't put on mittens yet."
Moonlight's mouth formed the shape of an "O" and she shook her head. "I guess I'm also a bit out of it."
I looked at her closely and noticed that she looked slightly tired. "Moonlight, I hope you're okay. I think after we're finished baking, you should rest," I said. My voice accidentally sounded a bit concerned. I guess I couldn't hide the fact that I tend to worry about her.
"Okay, thanks for worrying about me Syo, that's really sweet of you," Moonlight said and hugged me. I blushed at the amount of attention I was receiving and hugged her back.
Finally taking out the cake with oven mittens on, we placed it on the table and started placing the frosting over it, my mind already having a design in mind.
~Now in Musical's group~
~Natsuki's POV~
"Ok! Let's start making the cookies Mus-chan, Masa-chan," I said while clasping my hands together. I looked and saw Mus-chan in the Piyo-chan styled apron I gave her. She looked so cute in it!!!
Musical tried to reach for a bowl that was found in one of the cabinets and jumped to no avail. I quickly walked over, got it and gave her the bowl. She smiled at me saying, "Thank you Natsuki. Man, I wish I was tall like you. Then I wouldn't have trouble reaching for stuff."
"Aws, don't worry Mus-chan, as long as I'm here you don't have to worry about not being able to reach stuff," I assured her while smiling. "Plus I like you the way you are, you don't have to change a thing!" Her face flushed, and I couldn't help but poke her nose. "Boop~!"
She tried to do the same, but pouted since she couldn't catch me and boop my nose. I giggled, and instead leaned down, allowing her to boop my nose.
I really loved Mus-chan's personality. Everything about her seemed cute and lovable. After all this time, I've really developed feelings for her. Before I could think any more about it, I heard Masa-chan cough and both Mus-chan and I got back to work. I wonder why Masa-chan seems to be, uptight? I'm not sure. I was about to grab my special ingredients but was stopped by Mus-chan.
"Wait Natsuki, I recommend you not to use those ingredients for the cookies."
"Why not?" I asked, while I tilted my head. I always used them for my ingredients when they were available.
"I know some better ingredients we could use. They'll make the cookies taste even better," Mus-chan reasoned.
"Ok! I want to see how you make them, Mus-chan!"
~Masato's POV~
"Masato! Look, what do you think?" I heard Musical-san calling out to me. I was deep in thought while mixing the ingredients for the other set of cookies we were making. We had decided that we'd make two flavors: Chocolate chip and peanut butter. Musical-san was to make the peanut butter flavor since it was something she'd make with her mother.
I looked and saw that she shaped some of the dough like a heart. She had placed a couple of sprinkles that formed some music notes, and made it a creative looking heart. I couldn't help but crack a small smile and said, "It looks wonderful, Musical-san."
"I'm making a couple of them for each person, and I want to give this one to you," she said while blushing. When I took a closer look, I saw that she placed the sparkles in a way that they had an "M" on it. I smiled, my face feeling warm, and said, "T-Thank you Musical-san."
It was gestures like these and her attitude that created these overwhelming emotions for her. The memories I've made with her in the play were ones that I held close to my heart. Though I noticed that Natsuki-san also appeared to harbor feelings for her. I've decided that I don't want to lose her, since I'm hoping that she likes me more than a friend. I'll find a way through the rule forbidding love between two students.
I finished rolling up and creating different shapes out of the cookies, and placed them into the oven along with Musical-san. Our hands seemed to pass each others and I felt my face warm up once again. I noticed that Musical had a bit of the mixture of the batter on her face and made a move to remove it. My fingers ran over the spot, touching her soft cheek. Musical gasped slightly and turned to look at me with her curious cat-like eyes. Her cheeks flushed a light pink.
"There was some of the batter on your cheek."
She touched her cheek, and said, "Thanks Masato," and grinned.
~3rd person's POV~
Soon every group finished their planned desserts and placed them on the table for everyone to see. There was the round mouthwatering chocolates on the side of a round delicious looking flan Napolitano, with a three layered cake that looked fantastic with strawberries on the circumference of each layer. On the other side were the two types of cookies, where a couple had sprinkles over them and were each different figurines, and another where there were chocolate chips garnishing the cookie that already was filled with a rich delicious chocolate filling.
"Wow, they all look delicious!!," Tomo-chan exclaimed. Everyone nodded in agreement.
"Yeah, I guess we can now dig in," Otoya said.
"Yeah!"
Everyone tried a little bit of everything, their taste buds taking pleasure in recognizing the sweetness of each bite of the desserts. Syo was seen trying to avoid Natsuki, since he still would rather not try the cookies Natsuki made.
"Open wide, Syo-chan~~," Natsuki sang while trying to feed Syo a cookie he made.
"Yeah, try it Syo, I assure you its good," Musical said while taking a bite out of one of the cookies.
"Yeah, don't worry Syo, it's really good, I promise," Moonlight said, since she had tasted the cookie already. Syo looked at the two brunettes and sighed, saying, "Give me a cookie then."
Everyone cheered, and looked at Syo expectantly. Syo gulped and brought the cookie close to his mouth. He took a bite, awaiting the worst, and started chewing. He looked at the cookie, flabbergasted. "It's actually edible and good!"
Everyone smiled and laughed at Syo's comment. "Thank you Syo-chan, though Mus-chan helped me make them taste better," Natsuki beamed, his happy aura never leaving him.
"Well, I just gave a few pointers," Musical admitted while moving side to side and placing her arms behind her back.
"Well, this is the perfect time to have celebrated both for the plays and for the cookies Natsuki made," Shay stated, grinning.
Near the window, a certain purple haired girl peered in at the little reunion. Her eyes roamed the room and looked at everyone's faces. She pushed herself away from the window and floated down back to the ground where her feet met the plump grass.
"It looks like it's time," Akiyume mumbled to herself. She looked to her side to find Kuppuru. She knelt down and petted the cat. It miaowed and purred. Akiyume giggled, and said, "It's all falling into place, right Cecil?"
The cat looked up and responded with a "meow." It seemed to nod its head, and soon ran off into one of the many bushes nearby, disappearing from Akiyume's sight.
Akiyume walked forward and raised a hand. She moved her hand in a circular motion and pushed it outward, making a vortex. She swept through it, and the vortex immediately closed, dissipating through the air along with the purplette.
Would this be considered a cliffhanger? Me knows not XD lol, if it is, sowwy, but I think you guys obviously know what Aki-chan is talking about, or do you? Huehuehue, that's for me to know for now, and for you to find out~! Lol, I wanted to at least write this. I hope you enjoyed the chapter~~
~Musical
And yes, I'm deciding to update this at 1:47 am XD
