Waitress

Me: Hey, everyone! Welcome to another episode of Musical Characters React!

Jane Seymour: Hi, everyone!

Daniela: Hey!

J.D.: (Waves)

Eliza: We hope you guys are doing well!

Hamilton: THE HAMILTON MOVIE IS COMING OUT JULY 3RD ON DISNEY PLUS! WHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

The Hamilsquad: (Pops a party popper and confetti and streamers come down)

Me: Well, that WOULD certainly make up for the fact that the In The Heights movie is being pushed back a year. Unfortunately, I don't have Disney Plus...

Anne Boleyn: We Queens do, and I've been binging the Mandalorian and Phineas and Ferb!

Anna of Cleves: Boleyn and I are working on a COVID parody of the theme song to it right now.

King George: What's today's request?

Me: Well, today we have a request AND a question by thatonetrashbud.

Eliza: The most precious thing that I have received is probably my family.

Hamilton and Philip: Awwww!

Hamilton: Well the most precious thing that I have made is the other 51 essays!

Madison and Burr: Oy...

King George: The most precious thing that I received is the American colonies...UNTIL YOU UNGRATEFUL YANKS DECIDED TO BREAK AWAY FROM ME!

Hamilsquad: SHUT UP!

King George: TREASON!

Catherine of Aragon: The most precious thing that I have received is probably my Bible. (Does a sign of the Cross)

Jane Seymour: For me, and I think I can speak for all the Queens here is the Queendom!

The queens: Awww!

Catherine Parr: For me, the most precious thing I made is the books and psalms and meditations that I wrote.

Usnavi: The most precious thing I ever received is the bodega, since it technically was passed down from my father to me.

Nina: The most precious thing that I ever received is my high school diploma. I was the first in the neighborhood to make it out to college.

Veronica: I guess the most precious thing that I have ever received this blue croquet mallet (holds up the mallet)

Heather C.: Courtesy of us, you know!

J.D.: The most precious thing I made is...

Veronica: DON'T SAY IT!

J.D.: Okay, okay!

Me: Okay, so we are going to react to the musical Waitress.

Katherine Howard: Oh! It was in the Brooks Atkinson Theater before we made it our home!

Me: Yep! It's about a waitress and pie baker named Jenna! Let's get started!

[During What's Inside]

Jefferson: Why is the ensemble chanting "Sugar, butter, flour"?

Madison: I dunno...

Anna of Cleves: Wow, Jenna sounds like a good baker! She knows EXACTLY what she will need!

Lafayette: Oh, so to her, her pies represent the feelings she can't put into words.

[During Opening Up]

Hamilton: Ha! Deep sh*t blueberry bacon!

Mulligan: I'd like to try THAT pie!

Peggy: I wouldn't.

Angelica: Yeah, I don't think blueberry and bacon mix well.

Usnavi: This reminds me of opening up the bodega!

Vanessa: I think I can relate to her in the fact that I don't want a mundane life.

Peggy: Ha! Is it bad that I thought of Frozen 2 during the line "some things never change"?

Angelica: Nope!

[During The Negative (WARNING! MENTIONS OF A CERTAIN PART OF THE ANATOMY!)]

Mulligan: Oh crap, a pregnancy test

Daniela: Ooh! Dawn is Latina?

Me: Yeah, but in the OBC, she is played by a half-Japanese actress.

Angelica: "Do not insert the test stick into your v*gina?" okay, now I'm a bit disturbed. Like, why would someone do that with a pregnancy test stick?

Jefferson: Oh, sh*t, she's pregnant.

[During What Baking Can Do]

Madison: She learned baking from her mom?

Me: Apparently. And to her baking is cathartic.

[During Club Knocked Up]

Me: This is when Jenna is at the OB/GYN.

Angelica: Well, that's pregnancy encapsulated in a knock knock joke...

[During When He Sees Me]

Catherine of Aragon: Oh! A Dawn solo!

Veronica: Ever the introvert, is she?

Anna of Cleves: And she's doing online dating...

[During It Only Takes a Taste]

Heather M.: Ooh! Looks like Jenna's pies are actually really good, based on Pomatter's reaction to them.

J.D.: And she reminds him of a kindred spirit...

[During You Will Still Be Mine]

Catherine of Aragon: I don't know who's a worse husband, Earl or Henry.

[During A Soft Place To Land]

Carla: Ooh! Jenna's entering a contest?

Benny:  Yeah, so she can get away from her d**ckhead husband.

Eliza: Language!

Philip: I hope she wins. She NEEDS to get away from Earl.

[During Never Ever Getting Rid of Me]

Heather D.: Looks like Dawn has a hot date...

Philip: They enjoy American Revolution reenactments??

[During Bad Idea]

Daniela: Oof, they are like "should I give in or not?"

Me: Well, they're both married, so...

Angelica: Yeah, although Jenna SHOULD get away from her husband....wait, she and Pomatter are starting an affair?!

[During I Didn't Plan It]

Carla: What?! Becky cheated on her husband and is unashamed?

Sonny: I know, right! Like, quepena.com...

Me: (to Sonny) Jenny Lorenzo reference?

Sonny: Yep.

[During Bad Idea (Reprise)]

J.D.: Okay, so THREE couples are having a bit TOO much fun...

Heather D.: (to J.D.) Look who's talking.

[During You Matter To Me]

Katherine Howard: Awww! It's too bad they're not married.

Peggy: Is this like the "Dear Theodosia" of Waitress?

[During I Love You Like A Table]

Nina: Looks like Dawn and Ogie tied the knot.

Benny: Hopefully their marriage will be good.

[During Take It From An Old Man]

J.D.: Well, Jenna CAN use some confidence boosting, given the situation she's in right now.

Veronica: Yep. I'm glad someone DID do it.

[During Dear Baby]

Anna of Cleves: Oh sh*t! Earl left with the money Jenna's been saving up for the contest!

Veronica: That b*stard!

[During She Used To Be Mine]

Me: All right! Here we go! The most famous number of the musical!

Benny: This IS a beautiful song with great lyrics!

Catherine Parr: The song being sung by Jenna but in third person is clever.

Philip: Yeah, it symbolizes how she doesn't know who she is anymore.

[During Everything Changes]

Hamilton: Yes! She has a new baby!

Catherine of Aragon:...and a new beginning! AND she left Earl!

Vanessa: WHOOO! He deserved it!

[During Opening Up (Finale)]

Jefferson: Wow! She now owns her OWN diner!

Me: Yep!

Vanessa: But Joe died, so THAT'S why she owns it.

Veronica: "Lulu's Diner"...what a good name!

[When the song ends]

Me: So how did everyone like Waitress?

Madison: It was pretty good! I liked the songs! Too bad it closed, though.

Catherine Parr: Yeah, I would've killed to see it live.

Heather C.: Eh, it was okay.

Usnavi: It wasn't bad at all!

Philip: Well, we CRUSHED Waitress at the Tony Awards, so...

Hamilton: THAT'S MY SON!

Me: Heh. Okay, that's all the time we have for today's episode! Feel free to vote, comment, and request! Until next time

Everyone: Bye!
