Supernatural Abilities:

Mermaids are able to feel things on a much deeper level than humans do. They are able to feel emotions such as love, anger, sadness etc deeper than what a human can do. This is both a gift and a curse for mermaids. Because they are always able to understand other people, but they feel things so deeply themselves that it is near impossible for someone to understand how deeply they actually feel emotions.

They are also able to see visions when a member of their pod is in danger. When they get these visions they will stop what they are doing and their eyes will turn into a violet purple color and they see through the eyes of the person in trouble. In order for a mermaid to get these visions about other people, they have to be extremely close to them. And when they get close they get close on a emotional and spiritual level that creates a bond that they are unable to break unless that person is no longer important in their lives.

Because they are able to feel so deeply, when they fall in love they only do it once in a lifetime. It's called an imprint on someone, and when they fall, they fall hard because of these deep emotions that they feel such as love. It can happen with anybody at any given time, too. Once they found that person they imprinted on, they have a connection with them on a mental, emotional and a spiritual level that they can't explain to a human or any other species. Mermaids are the only creatures that can feel this deeply about someone.

Supernatural Eyes:

Their eyes are also able to adjust to the dark as well. The deeper the ocean, the darker it gets. Mermaids when it gets real dark their eyes will turn into a violet purple and they are able to see clearly. Again, they are able to do this on land, but it works a lot better and they are able to see further in their own environment.

Arm Fins:

These just basically help them swim when there are sharp turns.

Moon Ring:

A moon ring has the power of a full moon, with this they are able to use their own power and amplify it while doing a lot of damage. It might not look like much, but this little sucker can pack a punch!

Mermaids when they feel threatened they are able to camouflage themselves like an octopus would be able to. This is what makes the existence that they actually exist a secret from land people since they are able to do this.

They are able to do all sorts of spells and magic as well. This makes them powerful creatures, and although people can get a mermaid confused with a siren, many of them share the same spells and techniques. Mermaids are peaceful creatures, but once you mess with them or someone they care about, that isn't what you remember from them.
