Chapter 5

Akira groaned and sat up, she rubbed her back of her head and yawned. She had slept pretty well, something she hadn't done in a while. Though she couldn't really call that sleeping. She had either been knocked out or she had blacked out, she couldn't remember which is was. Akira looked around the room she was in. She wasn't in the attic anymore. The room was large, a bedroom, maybe her bedroom while she stayed here. She had never seen a bedroom so large, the room was at least twice the size as the dinning room where she had eaten with 24 others at the orphanage she lived at. She couldn't believe that she actually missed that place. She spent years wanting to leave and now she would do almost anything to be there again, anything would beat a vampire infested mansion. She looked down at herself. She was in a black lingerie outfit, it was nothing she would choose to wear in her life. She usually just wore an over sized t-shirt and pants to be, that suited her fine but this was lacy at the top and her cleavage was almost on full show. She hadn't changed, that meant they had done it. They had actually stripped her while she was unconscious. Suddenly she thought about the knives she had on her, they would have found them all. She looked to her left to see a small wooden table next to her gigantic bed, all her 6 knives were carefully laid out. They had clearly found them then but they hadn't taken them from here. Strange, she thought. She looked to the end of the bed and saw a uniform, she recognised the design from what the vampires had been wearing when they arrived. Clearly this one however was meant for her, they were going to make them attend the same school as they were. Probably just so they could keep an eye on them both. It would after all be troublesome for them if their prey ran off, Akira thought as she gritted her teeth.

"You are finally awake." Akira looked up to were the sudden male voice came from and saw Reiji calmly stood by the door with his arms folded.

"Where is Yui?" Akira asked him with an angered undertone. They better not have hurt her.

"She is safe. She is currently still asleep in her own room. You will see her when she wakes I'm sure."

"Good. So what do you want?"

"The knives. What are they for?" He asked suddenly.

"Protection." Akira answered sharply. "Vampires aren't the only thing a girl has to worry about."

"I suppose not, I also suppose that I am to ignore the fact that there are 6 knives and 6 of us am I?"

"You can do whatever you want, I can't stop you thinking what you will no matter what I say. I am after all a mere mortal." Akira spat with a frown. Reiji shot her a glare. "So you're going to let me keep them?"

"I don't see why not. As you point out you are a mere mortal, no matter how many weapons you have on you you will not be able to do any real damage to us so I wouldn't try if I were you. Ayato told me about the scratch you placed on him, it came as a surprise I'll give you that but it will not happen again I can assure you." Akira smirked inwardly. Keep thinking you're untouchable, she thought, that would make it easier to kill you.

"Who changed me anyway?" She said changing the topic before too much about the knives was revealed.

"I did. Laito was far too keen to do it for his own good. Though I have my own questions about that too. You are covered in scars, where did you receive them?" He was referring to the scars she had received on missions. She had lost count of the amount of times she had been bitten or heavily injured when fighting vampires. She was good at what she did sure but things always went wrong on missions, vampires were such unpredictable creatures that it was bound to happen. There were cases when she didn't even think she would make it out alive and not everyone did but she always seemed to come back, injured or not she never failed and so she wouldn't fail to return when this whole ordeal was over.

"As far as I'm aware I have no obligation to tell you that and despite everything you can do you can't make me share that information so I won't." Reiji was clearly not happy about that answer, he was defiantly suspicious of them. Of course being a vampire he was bound to know what a vampire bite scar looked like but Akira was right. There was no real way he could force her to tell him at that point but he would keep a close eye on her.

"I laid your uniform on the bed. You will be attending night school along with us. While living in this house you will live by our rules." He told her moving on.

"Right." Akira said rolling her eyes as him which didn't go unnoticed by Reiji. It was then that Akira noticed a sofa in the corner of the room at the back. On it laid Shu with his earbuds in and appearing to be asleep. She looked him up and down not saying anything. He was very tall, his legs thin and slender while his shoulders were broad.

"That deadbeat has been here since I brought you in here. He refuses to move, he's too lazy to even open his eyes." Reiji spat. Akira looked from one to the other, there was definitely a lot of hate there. At least of Reiji's part, she wondered why for a second and they scorned herself. It didn't matter why, all she needed to know was that Reiji hated Shu, she could use that somehow to kill either Reiji or Shu. It was at this comment that Shu opened his stunning blue eyes but continued to stare at the ceiling. He said nothing though it was clear he had heard everything but he closed his eyes again soon after, as if he was going to say something and then decided that she couldn't be bothered.

"Well look who's finally awake." Akira looked beside her to see Laito laid down next to her. He was on his side, propping his head up with his right arm and smirking at her. "You look even greater in that then I imagined. I might have to come and pay you a little night time visit, I don't really think I can resist." As she spoke Akira watched his eyes travel up and down her body, stopping momentarily on her full breast that seemed to be bursting out of the lacy nightgown. She glared and moved the quilt up to cover herself.

"The only one to be paying her a night time visit will be yours truly." Ayato said as he appeared standing opposite Akira on the other end of the bed. "After all she owe me an apologise for drawing my blood early."

"You had that coming, I'm not going to apologise for that." Akira spat back.

"Oh shut up, I will teach you to submit to me." He replied angrily.

"Stop this you two. If this continues we will all be late." Reiji interjected. "The limo will leave in an hour, makes sure you are in it when it does." He warned as he turned to leave. Ayato huffed and followed him out. Akira felt the presence of Laito by her side as he ran his lips along her bare shoulder.

"If you ever want to have a little fun while your here, well, you know where I am." He laughed a little and stood up to follow his brothers out. Akira glared at him as she walked out of the door then looked to Shu. He didn't look like he was going to move. She sighed and got out of the bed, keeping a close eye on him. She needed to get changed but she wasn't just about to strip in front of him, not that she was really wearing much anyway. It wasn't like there was much left to the imagination in her outfit but it was about principle. Besides she felt vulnerable and if there was one thing she hated more than anything it was feeling vulnerable, even more so when there was a vampire nearby.

"So are you going to leave or am I? Because I sure as hell am not getting undressed in front of you." Akira said looking at the closed eyed blonde vampire. He opened his eyes and smirked not bothering to look at her.

"Why does it matter? I have seen everything there is to see. Besides it's not like your exactly covered up." Shu sighed and sat up. He turned and looked at her, his eye meeting hers again. Akira felt her heart fluttered a little and then clenched her hand in anger, anger at herself. She hated that a vampire was having some kind of effect on her, she couldn't allow that.

"That doesn't matter, it's not happening while you are present." Shu sighed and stood up.

"Fine, this is becoming troublesome." He walked over to the door and stopped. "Oh but if you do need any help, I'd be more than happy to assist you." He said looking at her from the side of his eye and smirking. Akira felt her heart rate get a little faster and she turned her back to him so that he couldn't see the small blush forming on her cheeks.

"Get out." She ordered. The room went silent and she knew he was gone. Akira took a deep breath and placed a hand on her heart, it was beating quickly. This wasn't right. She was a vampire hunter, she couldn't be this effected by him...it. Vampires were master manipulators she couldn't let them have any kind of advantage over her. She had to be on high defense all the time and yet with him...whenever he looked her she felt like he was staring into her soul. She felt a little weak at the knees and there was something about his voice that sent her heart into a frenzy. She shook her head and gritted her teeth. This was ridiculous, whatever hold he seemed to have on her already needed to be stomped out. She couldn't be weak because when and if the time comes she would need to kill him....
