The saddest part of this in my AU is that both of them utterly failed as parents. Megs led an evil faction and because of his actions as a warlord and overprotectiveness, he made his only daughter hate him, fake her death, leave, frag his enemy, have a son with said enemy, and then fake her death again. Starscream was an absent father, and then did nothing about Eclipsa's death and caused both of his children, Scarlet and Sonar, to run away in mourning of their mother's death. Then when his son met him again, he was a better father to a random mech than he'd ever been to his own children. Really sad to think about.
