5. Idea- Planting

The four met up at 8:00 p.m. sharp, at the mall the following Saturday. Each one's face lit up with the memories of all the good times they'd had there. They'd always head to the mall when they were in school, and nostalgia tugged at their tear glands now.

They talked and talked a lot at Café Chino's Place. Sydney couldn't believe just how similar the place was to how it looked years ago. The only difference seemed to be the newer additions to the menu.

Time seemed to have flown by when they spoke, which left behind a  disgruntled Marina, who rued how slow time seemed to pass earlier when she was waiting for the day they'd meet up after quite a long time.

''My treat!" said Cayanne as she snatched up the bill receipt and paid.

Deciding to roam around the mall doing nothing in particular, just like old times, they walked round and around the mall, stopping at some shop if anything fascinated them. They spoke so much that Sydney worried they would lose their voices.

"I have no idea what I'm gonna do, they don't believe me..." said Syndi when the talk turned to what they'd all been up to the latest.

"Yeah, wasn't my fault. That nurse administered a wrong injection; and it's my attempt on his life? So stupid..." muttered exasperated Angela, feeling like she might throw up if she was asked to explain the same thing one more time.

"It's deliberate, they say. I'm trying to get insurance, they say. That's so ridiculous. Why in Gargantua would I burn down my own lab?" told Marna.

"Those oranges were actually very hard. It still hurts. And 404 pages is nothing less..." mumbled Cayanne, unconsciously rubbing the part of her head that'd been hurt the most. At first, she'd felt like laughing when she remembered the instance but the pain always took over and made her vision scarlet.

They were all silent for a while as they pondered over it all. Angela and Cayanne stared off into space and Sydney sat on a bench they'd found and kept tapping it. All of a sudden, Marna jumped up, saying "That's it!"

"Marina, what happened to you?" asked the startled Syndi.

"Tell us your idea, Marina," asked Cayanne, who had fallen off the bench.

"I was thinking of a band," replied Marina.

"A BAND?" shouted Syndi, Cayanne and Angela at the same time, the joint force shoving her a bit backwards.

"Yeah, she's right, guys. After all, music was our life, wasn't it?" questioned Angela.

"Yes, it was. And it still is, I hope. What do you think, Syndi?" asked Cayanne, who had recovered and reclaimed her seat.

"That sounds cool, Cayanne. I'm in" Syndi replied.

"Me too," said Angela.

"Me three," said Cayanne.

"Me four!" said Marna, as the others  burst into fits laughter.

All their worries had been shooed away from the stage in their minds, and now they enjoyed and revelled in their light banter and humour. For who knew when anything might be over? It could be like that *snaps* or nothing like that either...
