We all decided we'd have a party. More like a get-together. We drove away from the city to a famed park in 2 cars. While coming back, we spotted Lakeside Park and decided to spend some time there.

We were lazing around on the artificial next to the lake, having a picnic when we noticed a girl who looked our age jump into the lake.

Initially, I'd thought she was just swimming. But after 20 minutes, I'd sensed something amuck- in the 20 minutes she'd been underwater she hadn't surfaced even once! She hadn't had a tank when she'd dived. The lifeguard had been on leave, then.

I'd thought and thought about what I could do- it'd seemed like there wasn't a thing!

Swimming and me were like the opposite ends of a rod. Then, I realized Angela could swim. She'd jumped in to save the girl as soon as she'd heard me talk about it.

She hauled the girl with tremendous efforts. She got her to the shore, where Amee, Yana, Sundae and Sharia lifted her off the water. Melodie spread our picnic blankets to make a coverlet, on which the girl was placed.

But, then, I noticed something- her body was still, she wasn't breathing!

Then, Angela and I pumped all the water out of the girl.

She began breathing.

I sighed in relief!

It was then that I identified the girl- she was our old school classmate- Madelyn.
