In The Clouds
Evan sighs before sitting up in bed. This was his final day before Pandora, and he had to return to the UK, with the band only having about a week left. He decided that because his flight was early in the morning, he should begin packing his belongings. He turned on some music and started by going through his closet; he chose a clean outfit for the airport and something to sleep in that night, then packed the rest, neatly folding it and placing it in the suit case. He then went to the vanity and gathered all of the hair products he had spread out, packing the ones he did not need for the day and putting them in the suitcase as well. He repeats the process of leaving the items he will need tonight and on the plane and packing the rest in his suitcase. All of this took about an hour, which was a good amount of time given how long he usually takes; he laid back on the bed and checked the time, which was around 8 p.m. He still had not eaten dinner, so he texted Pandora and asked if she wanted anything to eat because he was ordering takeout. Until she responded, he scrolled through social media, boredom setting in as he switched to playing games on his phone, his preferred game being Call of Duty.
When Evan heard a knock on his hotel room door, he stood up and walked towards it, looking through the peephole to see a DoorDash employee carrying a bag full of Italian food. Evan places the food on the table and texts Pandora, informing her that he will not be waiting for her and that if she takes too long, he will be digging into the food. Within minutes of being left on read by his twin sister, there was a banging on the door, which he chuckled too and then opened said door, already knowing it was Pandora. They put on some Netflix as they watched, continuing their journey of watching Gilmore Girls together for the millionth time.
"No matter how many times we watch it, I will always be on Team Logan," stated Pandora with a mouthful of food.
"What no? Jess is literally the best boyfriend." Evan countered with no hesitation, a look of offense written across his face.
They went back and forth, both providing useful information about each option while bickering as they always do. After a few episodes, the takeaway plates were practically licked clean, and they talked a little longer before Pandora said good night and left to return to her own room. After cleaning up, Evan took a quick shower before changing into the clothes he had chosen earlier and going through his night routine, which included taking care of his dreadlocks by applying natural oils to his scalp and lengthening them, among other things. He puts on a bonnet, making sure it is securely fastened around his head and covers all of his hair. Walking out the bathroom, he checked his phone. a few notifications from his friends, some sending him TikToks and random texts and photos, he replied, then put his phone to the side, untucked the bedsheets, and crawled in. Before setting his head on the pillow, he took his sleeping pills; no water was needed. Eventually, after resting his head against the pillows, his eyes closed shut, and he wandered off too sleep.
He awoke in the morning to the sound of his alarm clock ringing near his ear. He easily got out of bed and made his way to the small counter against the wall, grabbing the electric kettle and starting to boil the water before going to the bathroom to wash his face. He splashed some water on it and simply dried it with his face towel, not applying anything else. He returned to the electric kettle, poured the boiling water into a small cup, and added a tea bag and a little amount of sugar, swirling it until it was correctly blended. Evan enjoyed having tea in the morning because he is like British and stuff. After his morning tea, he moved on to changing into the outfit he had set aside the night before and randomly throwing the one he was previously wearing into his luggage. He went to the vanity, trying to decide if he should take the bonnet off now or when he was close to landing, but since it was only a one-hour flight, he just took the bonnet off, thinking it wasn't going to make much of a difference. After he took off the bonnet, he grabbed a hairband and a few locks from the front of his face and some from the side, combining them with a lot from the upper back and pulling them into the hairband, leaving his dreaded hair in a half-up, half-down hairstyle, one he often did when he didn't want his dreadlocks up in his face. He sprayed some simple perfume and accessorized; he then went to his backpack and started packing up his on-flight stuff, his laptop, earbuds, chargers, and whatever else he needed on the flight.
After he was done making sure he didn't forget anything and all his stuff was neatly put away in either his suitcase or backpack, he went out the room and headed a few doors down the hall to Pandora's room and knocked. Being her usual self, Pandora let him into her hotel room with a sweet smile on her face. He walked in looking around; she seemed almost done with packing up her star and arranging it. Of course there's something scattered across the room: clothes on the bed, makeup on the vanity, and more. As Evan made his way to her bed, he sat down, taking some of the clothes she hadn't yet folded and neatly doing it for her.
"We have to go in like, 1-2 hours, you know that right?" He said to her as he set the now correctly folded clothes aside
"I woke up a tad late, sorry, anny."
"It's okay, have you eaten yet?"
"Yep! Had a sandwich."
Evan simply nodded and finished folding up her clothing neatly and handing them to Pandora, who then arranges them in her suitcase.
It didn't take long to reach the airport, and it certainly didn't take long for them to go through security, and it definitely didn't take long for them to be shuffling towards the gift shops with a few of their body gaurds and manager. They had already gotten some things and souvenirs for family and friends alike, but what harm is there to running by the gift shops? They were right there. Pandora found a small shop that sells crystals and rocks; as if she were enchanted, she scurried inside the shop, gawking at the insane amount of colorful crystals up on the shelves and tables. After a while, she had settled on a pendant with a dark indigo rock woven into it. Trying it on, she looked at Evan with a glistening in her eyes
"How does it look?" she muttered a question at her brother.
"Its lovely; you should get it." He replied softly, a cherished look across his face.
"It looks like the one I saw in my dream, doesn't it?"
A while ago, Pandora had gotten one of her strange dreams; inside was a pendant, which she later painted. Looking back at his memory of her oil painting, Evan agreed with a nod and a hum; it wasn't the first time one of Pandora's dreams had been close to reality.
After purchasing the mysterious accessory, they still had some time to look around. From the side of his eye, Evan saw a candy store, a smile plastered across his face as he started walking towards it, finding the sweets on display very alluring. Evan had to be dragged away from the gummy section by his manager, who was scolding him and telling him to watch his weight for upcoming photoshoots, and bla bla bla, Pandora was recording and is most likely sending the recorded video to a group chat with their friends, and all Evan can think about is the sweet delicacies he's been pulled away from and the sweet taste of the mouthful of long string gummies on his tongue.
Eventually they were walking across the boarding bridge, making their way to their seats in business class, the twins next to each other while their manager is a few seats behind. Evan put his carry-on backpack in the compartment above his seat and plopped back down when he was done. Eventually, after some time, the plane started taking off. Evan looked out the window, taking joy in the view of the city as it got smaller and clouds started appearing under them.
He quite enjoyed heights. Since he was a kid, he'd climb trees just to get to the top for fresh air and the heavenly view.
The plane ride went by in a flash with him watching a movie on the screen in front of him while eating some small snacks. By the time the movie had finished, they were landing, the snacks he had eaten earlier floating around in his stomach as the airplane went down softly. He looked at the window, the view of late November London amusing, the dark clouds covering up the sky, the sun hiding, out of sight from the burning eyes of the world. It was raining when they were rushing into their separate cabs, hugging before parting ways.
"Text me when you get home, yea?" Evan said as usual
"Oki Doki!" Replied Pandora
Evan was safe of the tears falling from the clouds above him as he got inside the cab with his manager, telling the driver where Evans flat is. Opening the door too his flat and faring his manager goodbye, Evan pulled his luggage along with him into his empty flat; it wasn't neccessarily empty; there was furniture taking up the space, of course, but it felt empty—a big flat and only himself living in it, guest rooms with no one in them. He unpacks, playing some soft music as he does, humming along to his song of choice, shoves a few clothes in his closet, and shoes at the cupboard near the entrance.
Hearing a 'ding' from his phone, he checks it, noticing Pandora texting him, informing him that she's made it home safely.
After finishing up and unpacking everything, he made sure he set the gifts he got for a few close friends aside. He made his way to his living room, settling down on the couch and swiping mindlessly at his phone yet again. He logged into his public account and decided to post a little photo dump of his time in the Netherlands; the majority of the photos were professional shots taken by his social media team; thankfully, they gave him options from which to choose; he posted a few with himself in them, and the rest were scenery or pictures from a café. He would publish images of himself, as well as behind-the-scenes shots, on his private account later on.
