Narda had brought Chanyeol over to her apartment telling him that she wanted to spend some time together. Chanyeol had to admit he was a bit more than just excited when he found out through Nari that Narda had specifically asked her to be out of the house. The stylist had arranged to go out with Kyungsoo that night and planned to stay out most of the night, which they would accomplish by staying at some hotel nearby. Nari didn't want to give Chanyeol any false hopes, but she thought the very same thing that he did--that Narda maybe wanted some privacy with him because she was planning something special.

He arrived in a baggy sweatshirt and sweat pants, something he would be able to remove easily if he were to need to. He arrived at Narda's apartment door at eight thirty, which was the time she had given him. He rang the doorbell and waited for her to answer it.

Chanyeol was immediately dismayed when she opened the door wearing her EXO Baekhyun 04 crewneck sweater. She was oblivious to it as she got on her tiptoes to peck him on the lips. But she wasn't oblivious to his obvious discomfort at her choice of clothing. "What's wrong papi?" She asked him with a pout, jutting out her lower lip.

He heaved a sigh. "Guti baby, do you have to wear that right now?"

She looked down at her sweater and instantly felt bad for him. She quickly tried to apologize to him. "I'm sorry. It just got cold in the apartment and it was my only clean sweater. It was literally shoved into the back of my closet." She informed him, tugging uncomfortably at the fabric now. Her hands went down to the bottom of the sweater and she pulled it over her head, exposing a bit of skin underneath as her shirt had ridden up slightly with the sweater. Chanyeol gulped at that. He wanted to badly to touch her, to feel her skin underneath his fingers.

He was just as quick and slipped out of his sweater, offering it to her. She took it gladly, getting lost in the baggy fabric that reached down to her knees. It was a bit chilly with just his t-shirt and sweatpants on. But he preferred it over seeing her wearing his name on her.

"So..." He began casually, watching her move things around the coffee table. "What did you want to do tonight?"

"I ordered a pizza and I was thinking we could watch a movie, and then we could go over to my room. I have a surprise for you." She informed him, without giving too many details. She was trying to keep it secretive. But Chanyeol was already coming to his own conclusions in his head.

A wide grin spread across his lips.

"I like the sound of that."

-

The pizza had arrived twenty minutes later and they had already started watching a movie. It was a dramatized film about the prohibition of Catholicism in Mexico during the 1920's called Cristiada, or For Greater Glory in English. Chanyeol had gotten really into the film because of the battles that were portrayed, while Narda was swooning over a handsome general who was also a priest in the film. That had been something Chanyeol wasn't thrilled about.

After the movie, Narda got up and threw away the pizza box. She had eaten two slices, while her boyfriend had finished the remaining other six. She was surprised that he was so thin. Then again, she thought, he was probably not allowed to eat that much on a daily basis.

When she returned from the kitchen, she stood before him, stretching her arms high above her head and letting out a yawn. It was ten at night and she offered her hand for him to take. "Lets go to my room, vida." She said and he took her hand so quickly, getting back on his feet. He didn't waste any time and wrapped his arms around her waist, making her giggle as he walked behind her. He was much taller and had to lean down to nuzzle his face into her neck, nipping and kissing at her skin playfully.

They reached her bedroom and she opened the door. He turned her around and brought his lips to hers, both walking into the room together. He backed her up into her bed, pulling away only to take a breath. She kissed him back, her hands resting on his shoulders while she closed her eyes.

He was about to make his attempt to take things further when they heard a ringing coming from her laptop on the vanity mirror. She pulled away breathless, a big smile forming on her lips. "One second, vida." She walked away from him, gesturing to him with her index finger. She walked over to her laptop and opened it. There was an incoming skype call with the name Bianey flashing on the screen. Chanyeol hadn't met any of her family yet, but from the things she would tell him, he knew that Bianey was her younger sister.

Narda was the oldest of three siblings. She had a brother named Aldair who was twenty, and a sister named Bianey who was eighteen. He sat on her bed and waited for her to come back, after checking what her sister probably wanted. She sat in front of the mirror and hit answer call. Immediately the image of three people popped onto her computer screen. Two of them were older, which she assumed were her parents.

The other was a girl who looked around eighteen years old.

"Hola." She waved at her family happily.

Her family waved back, but quickly her mother squinted, trying to make out someone behind her daughter in the room. "Narda, who's in the room with you?" Her mother asked cautiously.

Narda looked over her shoulder to see her boyfriend sitting on her bed. "Mom, dad, Bia, I want you to meet Chanyeol. My boyfriend." Turning to Chanyeol, she added, "Chan, I want you to meet my family."

-

The four had all been surprised to meet each other.

Bianey had been the one to speak first. "Chanyolk? I thought you were dating that Bacon guy."

Narda's smile dropped and she shot her sister a look over the computer. "That never happened, Bianey. My boyfriend's name is Chanyeol."

"Ya salio el peine." Her mother reasoned in Spanish. The truth comes out, she said. "You went to Korea because you wanted to get yourself a boyfriend. There are plenty of good boys here in Los Angeles. You didn't have to go so far away for that."

"Does he even speak Spanish?" Her father wondered. The whole conversation was taking place in Spanish, except what she had talked with Bianey. Chanyeol was sitting on her bed, almost completely clueless as to what was happening. Narda was starting to feel like having them meet as a surprise had been too hasty on her part. Her parents were being a little judgemental, and Chanyeol didn't want to leave his place at her bed. He was currently trying to hide his little predicament by crossing his leg over the other.

Narda shook her head. "He doesn't speak Spanish, but I don't think that matters."

"How will he talk to the family if you marry him?" Her father tried to reason.

His daughter's eyes widened in surprise. "I never said we were getting married. He's just my boyfriend. And either way, I'm sure he could learn Spanish. Korean pronunciations are very similar to Spanish ones." Looking back over her shoulder again, she called for him, reaching her hand out. "Chan, can you come here for a second and say hi to my parents. They're thrilled to meet you."

Chanyeol wouldn't budge from his place. "You should have told me, baby. I had other ideas for tonight. And I could have rehearsed something in Spanish for them. I bet that's what they've been talking about since you answered the call." He said to her. He didn't need to understand her language to know. Parents were like that. He knew that his parents would be the same if he introduced Narda to them. Their first question would be-does she speak Korean?

Narda heaved a sigh, understanding what he meant about having other ideas and picked up her computer, walking over to the bed and sitting down, setting it on her lap. She tilted the screen up to capture both of their faces in the camera angle.

"If mom and dad could understand what I heard, they wouldn't want him anywhere near you." Bianey said with an amused laugh.

Chanyeol waved at the camera awkwardly, muttering one of the only Spanish words he knew for certain. "Hola."

"Hola." Her parents replied in unison.

"I'll have to translate for us since my parents don't speak English." Narda informed him in a whisper.

Her mother took one look at him and admitted in Spanish. "He might not speak Spanish, but at least he's very handsome and he looks like a good boy. What does he do for a living? Does he go to school? Does he have a job?"

Narda shook her head and started to explain. "He's an artist--part of the group EXO."

"Ah," Her mother said, finding the group name familiar. "He's part of Exxon."

"Not the petroleum company. The Korean boy group, mom." Narda corrected her, wanting so badly to face palm herself. She was deeply regretting springing this on them without talking to them about it first. "I've shown you their videos before." She pointed out, remembering when Wolf came out and she made her sister and her mother watch the video with her. Her mother had started calling them Exxon because the group name sounded similar to the American petroleum company.

-

They had a twenty minute conversation over video chat, with her parents actually making an attempt to talk to Chanyeol. But it was nearly impossible. Her parents didn't speak English or Korean. Chanyeol didn't speak Spanish, he could barely speak any Engish.

By the time the call ended, Narda had been frustrated and set her laptop beside her on her bed.

"I'm sorry my parents are like that." She heaved a sigh, running a hand through her long strands of hair. "I honestly thought they would try a bit harder to like you, for my sake."

Chanyeol grabbed a hold of her hand and brought it to his lips, reassuring her. "Don't worry, baby. You need to understand them. It must have been difficult for them to have you so far away and then tell them that you're dating someone. Plus, I noticed they did try really hard to talk to me."

"I guess." She sighed again.

But when she thought about it, she realized it was true. Back when she was living at home with them, her father came off as much more intimidating when a boy wanted to date her. At least with Chanyeol his intimidation techniques wouldn't really work since they didn't speak the same language.

"Your dad looked like he wanted to murder me though." Chanyeol pointed out with a chuckle.

I guess his subliminal intimidation techniques worked after all, Narda thought as she smiled to herself. She then informed him, "That's because you're dating his precious daughter. Fathers in my culture are super overprotective, and so are brothers. When you meet Alda, he's going to be exactly the same. But he liked you because when my dad doesn't like someone, he will tell them to their face. He doesn't hold back."

Chanyeol heaved a sigh of relief. "I'm glad then."

"When do I get to meet your family?" She asked him, leaning her head on his shoulder comfortably.

"Whenever you want, baby. Just say the word and I'll make it happen." He responded without any hesitance. Pulling his phone put of his pocket, he made her an offer, "I'll call my eomma right now and let her know we'll be coming by tomorrow."

He didn't even give her a chance to respond when he was already dialing her number.

When someone answered, he said into the phone, "Mom? Its Chan. Sorry to call you so late. I just wanted to let you know that I'll be visiting tomorrow with my girlfriend." He talked to her for a few minuted and then said goodbye to her.

Now they were both sitting quietly on her bed.

Narda noticed what he had been trying to hide from her parents. "Did you think I was bringing you into my bedroom for el chaka chaka?" She asked. He didn't know what that meant, but he figured it out when he saw her eyes looking at his sweat pants.

Chanyeol felt his cheeks go red. "Nari said you might--"

She sighed. "It was a misunderstanding. But..." She paused, mulling something over. "I guess there is one thing I would be willing to do for you. To help you with that problem."
