Michael closed the door behind him, turning cautiously to face the beautifully dressed Persian cat in flowing red garments and numerous necklaces and rings glistening at her slender- willow claws. He bowed hesitantly, straightening up as Anna beckoned graciously to him. She smiled benevolently at him, holding out her paw.
Obediently Michael stepped forward and bent down to kiss it. He looked up whilst Anna spoke.
"Don't be scared Michael" she purred, taking out a little bag that jingled with money. The White cat held it out towards him, smiling gently and fondly as she did so. "This is for you if you perform well in the play tonight". Although it was meant to be a secret... The three faithful friends knew that Anna Korevna had warmed to Michael ever since he had shown a natural flare in the theatrical art. Anna was very fond on the theatre.
Michael was taken aback by the generous gift, he was surprised by the obvious liking that Anna had bestowed upon him. The only words he could utter were "why?"
Korevna smiled, touching his blushing face with her snowy soft paws. Her voice was like that of a caring mothers as she replied "ah... Why? Why? Why? Why? Why?" It was almost as if she was thinking about it herself. "Because of this" she placed a paw upon Michaels heart. "Your soul is that of an actor and I know that you won't let me down tonight." Her eyes snapped back to reality as she asked a more practical question.
"When is the play by the way... Do you know?" She asked, licking her paws and swiping it across her ears with swift strokes. She managed to do everything with such stunning poise.
Michael accepted the gift willingly: he knew that Korevna liked him and did not want to seem rude by refusing the rather large sum of money. "The play is tonight at seven" he replied, pocketing the gold.
The Persian cat smiled as he came forward and bowed respectfully to her. She pecked a quick kiss on his cheek before he left the room, murmuring a grateful "thank you" and blushing furiously.
