Prologue

A woman stood in an alleyway inspecting a kitchen knife. She held it up to the moonlight, watching it glint. A large smile spread across her face.

It was a late summer night in Little People NC. Few people were around.

A newspaper tumbled past the alleyway, blown by the cold breeze. The woman snatched from the sidewalk and read the headline.

"15 years since LP was founded!"

Her eyes drifted to the name of the newspaper, which changed every year.

"Little People News 2018"

She let go of it and watched it flutter to the ground. Then another lady walked by. The first one quickly caught her attention, "Excuse me?" She called hiding the weapon behind her. The second one turned, surprised.

"Uh, yes?" She tilted her head. The first one gestured for her to come forward. The second one hesitated but walked into the alleyway. As soon as she was close enough the first one grabbed her shoulder and slammed her into the wall. She fell onto her knees and opened her mouth but the first one quickly covered the mouth of the second one before she could scream.

With a grin, the first one stabbed her knife into the leg of the second one and sliced, scraping her bone. The second one struggled and kicked, which the first one did not like. So she brought the knife into the second one's side and didn't stop until she felt her spine. The first one pushed the knife into her spine and heard a loud, satisfying, cracking sound.

The second one had tears going down her face and let out a muffled scream. The first one realized she couldn't hold her for much longer, so she stabbed her in the head and let go of the second one. The second one's eyes glazed over and she fell over, blood gushing out of her wounds. The blood pooled and spread. The first one bent over and placed her hand in the blood. She began to write on the wall above the victim.

Once she was done, she stood back to admire her work with a huge grin. She licked the blood off her fingers and ran.

"I was never gone. -R"
