Chapter 3
Diamond opened the door of the Cafe. She glanced up as a tiny bell rang.
Neko was at a counter, mixing a drink. Only a few tables and seats in the small cafe had people in them.
Neko set down a drink on the counter and called out, "Rachel."
A short brunette walked up and took the drink and sat down.
Diamond approached the cash register and Neko quickly went up to it.
Neko was a normal teenager... Other than the fact she had cat ears and a tail.
"Hey, you're the ghost Hunter, right?" Diamond jumped a little at Neko's question, "Oh- Um, yes that's me!" Diamond rubbed her arm self consciously.
"So what would you like?" Neko asked, "Black coffee and Green tea. To go please." Diamond said, doing a double take of the Menu.
Neko pressed a few buttons on the register, "Alrighty, that will be 10.56 please."
Diamond dug around in her purse and handed her a 10 dollar bill and 1 dollar bill.
Neko took it and gave back the change. "Your order will be ready in a few minutes."
Neko hurried over to one of the coffee machines. Diamond turned around and took in her surroundings.
There were two large windows, an armchair, and a table in front of both. The rest were tables and chairs scattered all over the place. The counter had a register and some coffee machines, and there was another counter on the far wall.
Diamond sat at a table and fidgeted for a few minutes until the drinks were done.
"Green tea and coffee!" Neko called.
Diamond stumbled to her feet, grabbed the drinks, thanked Neko, and left.
When she got home she set the drinks on the dining table. Emerald walked in and sat by Diamond.
"I'm glad you're back... I found something on Ruby." Emerald said before taking a sip of her tea.
"It's weird how we know the killer's name but she's still killing." Diamond said, rubbing her temples.
"That's the thing, it has been found that no one under that name has ever lived in North Carolina!" Emerald exclaimed, and Diamond nearly dropped her coffee.
"What if she's from another state?" Diamond reasoned.
Emerald looked thoughtful, "Maybe. I'll look into it." She stood up with her tea.
"Don't stay up too late." Diamond said, taking a sip from her coffee.
"I'll try not to." Emerald smiled and left for her room. Diamond took a sip from her coffee.
It was around 8 o' clock in the morning, so Diamond figured she'd go for a walk.
She was about to leave when...
