"You ready?" Rebecca asked as she parked in front of Dan's house, I spent last night at my own home preparing for today, Prom was in a month and I decided to surprise my boyfriend.

"Yeah, how about you Ri?" I asked Reilly who was holding up some balloons, she nodded silently, she had just woken up from the drive.

As Rebecca got Reilly out of her seat I took the sign that simply said "Prom?" and knocked on the door. In a couple of seconds Fae answered the door, I smiled and waited for her to call Dan but she did something I didn't predict.

"Oh my god, Yes!" She yelled excitedly.

"No, tell your brother Daniel!" I explained.

"Oh okay, DAN I'M GOING TO PROM WITH YOUR BOYFRIEND," Fae yelled and I couldn't help but laugh, I now knew she was definitely kidding around.

Dan came running to the front door, he had an apron with frosting and flour on it. He gave me a smile as he read my sign. "Of course!" he responded and gave me a kiss on the check.

"Sorry to ruin the mood but I gotta go, job calls!" Fae told us as she ran to her car with a gym bag.

"Take care!" Dan yelled as his sister took off, she was only here for the week and seemed to always be working away from home.

"So what's with the mess?" Rebecca asked as Reilly got picked up by Dan. His shirt was still stained with ingredients.

"Oh I'm making a birthday cake for the party," Dan explained as we walked inside, he lead us to the kitchen where a white cake with sprinkles sat.

"Can I have some?" Reilly asked as she climbed on Dan's shoulder.

"Later, when we sing happy birthday to John," Rebecca explained and Reilly pouted.

"I didn't think Reilly would be coming," Dan admitted.

"Why wouldn't she?" Rebecca asked and dan opened a huge icechest, by the smell of  vodka and the look of fresh fruit floating in it, I knew what it held. It was jungle juice.

"Fruit punch?" Reilly asked and Rebecca quickly corrected her.

"Don't drink it, it has alcohol in it and it can kill children like you," Rebecca explained and Reilly nodded.

"Okay mom," Reilly responded, I was glad Rebecca explained instead of just saying no.

"I don't think I'm going to drink anyways," Rebecca told us and I nodded, Dan on the other hand already was scooping up a cup.

There was sudden slam on the front door, we all turned to see the Adam and Chris had arrived, there was also an unexpected guest, one of the twin girls.

"All right ya'll next time I'm not picking this crack head up!" Chris yelled as he dragged Adam through the door, we can tell he was high by the way his eyes were.

"On second thought," Rebecca mumbled grabbing a cup as she saw Chris.

"Hey guys," Chris greeted, "Hey Rebecca, I won't bother you," everyone stopped what they were doing and look at Chris, did he really mean what he said.

"YOU'RE STILL NOT MY DAD," Reilly yelled but Rebecca silenced her with a shush.

"Is that her?" Chris's sister asked.

"Amy, this is Reilly, she's... she's Rebecca's daughter, play nice," Chris told her and the kids looked at eachtoher.

"She's like 4, and look at her makeup," Amy laughed but Reilly wasn't taking any of her shit.

"I'm wearing this for me not you bitch, and your like what ten and your already a waste of space," Reilly told her.

Amy however smiled, "I like you, want to drag Adam to the bathtub and pour water on him?"

"Yes!" Reilly answered and looked up to her mom.

"Fine, just make sure he doesn't drown or something," Rebecca agreed, the two girls ran to Adam who was passed out before the party even began.

Chris and Rebecca sat on opposite sides of the room, it's the first time I haven't seen them at eachother's throats, and by the way confusion was written on Dan's face, this hasn't happened for a while.

"What!" Chris and Rebecca yelled in unison as we started at them.

"John! I got you a present!" Dan changed the topic. I was pleasantly surprised but didn't know what to say.

"So you just gon give me a birthday gift on my birthday to my birthday party on my birthday with a birthday gift?" I asked as he handed me a small little box.

"Uh happy birthday?" Dan said questionably and I laughed.

"I'm playing, thanks dude," I accepted his gift.

"What is it?" Rebecca asked as I opened it I realized it was a chain necalce, not just any chain necklace but his, I then looked up and realized it wasn't a copy, it really was his necklace.

"Oh thank you," I didn't know what to say.

"I haven't taken it off in years, and I wanted you to have it, to remember me whenever we are apart." Dan said as he put the necklace on for me.

"Dan we are basically never apart, I've slept in your room almost all week," I pointed out.

"True, and speaking of which, do you want to move in with me? You're eighteen now, and you don't have to live alone anymore," Dan offered me to stay with him and I was surprised, isn't this too fast?

"Okay," I smiled and Rebecca started clapping.

"When's the wedding," She joked and Chris let out a laugh, but he quickly silenced himself.

"Seriously tho John, what about your parents?" Chris asked.

"I live alone, my whole family is dead," I laughed slowly.

"Oh shit, sorry man, I won't ask," Chris apologized and I was glad he wasn't going to ask questions, for all I know he could be the one who killed Bandon.

"Alright enough talk! Let's get this party started!" Dan yelled and pressed a button on his phone, loud music started to play from speakers all around the living room and kitchen.
