Prologue

I know, real original. The main character is a human with a demon harem, I get it... Let's get on with the story.

... "They're gone?"

... Woah, too early for that... let's back up a bit.

You see, most stories usually start with the main character being the hero of the story, however, in this one, our main character is no hero by any means... as you probably guessed from the title. Our main character for today's story is known as Minato Kirigaya. A.K.A. youngest son of the leader of the Kirigaya Clan.

Members of the same clan are also those that run businesses under the title of yakuza, stationed in rural Japan. At this point, it's kinda obvious what kind of life Minato. Though, not entirely like people think. While his family are powerful and criminals, they're not abusive as one might think. They treat each other as well as any family would.

And in Minato's case he was training to help protect the family. Cliche as it may sound, it was what he wished for. Though as all cliches go, the story has to start somewhere, and it doesn't stir away from being grim.

"Unfortunately, so." One of the guards was explaining it to his older brother and younger sister. "They were ambushed, and their lives were taken. I'm sorry."

When hearing the news, the three of them stared in disbelief. Hikari dropped the sheath of her katana and fell to her knees, as Satoshi was trying to say something, but couldn't get the words out. Minato was just staring at the guard without moving or blinking before his face twisted into a glare.

"I-Is this supposed to be some sick joke?" He says in anger.

"S-Sir, I can assure-"

"You think this is funny?"

"I-I would never-" Before the guard could finish, the boy grabbed him by the collar and thrusted him against the wall.

"CUT THE SHIT AND STOP FUCKING WITH ME!" He shouted in rage.

"Minato!" Satoshi says as he went to control his brother.

"I-I'm not lying! I... I know how hard it is and I don't wish to tell you what I just did, but-" The guard didn't have anything left to say before he was pushed to the ground.

The boy then ran out of the office and to his room before he went under his bed and pulled out a briefcase. He took out the revolver inside and loaded all the chambers before going through draws and pulling out a few different types of knives and stashing them in his jacket before his brother entered.

"What are you doing?" Satoshi asked, seeing him opening his window.

"What do you think?" Was all the boy said before he hopped out of the window.

"Minato, wait!" The older man called out as he made his way to the window, but unfortunately his brother was out of sight.

This is where we change to view a man entering his office with a cup of coffee in hand, humming to himself in pleasure as he was fixing the buttons on his shirt. He stopped in front of a window which gave him a wide view of the city below, taking a sip of his coffee before sighing... then feeling something press against his head before his eyes widened from seeing the reflection of Minato pressing the barrel of the gun to the back of his head.

"K-K-K-Kirigaya, I-I..." He stuttered at his words.

"Sit." The boy says while slightly pressing on the trigger. "Now."

"Y-Yes, o-of course." He says scared as he sat in his office chair. "P-Please, please don't kill me."

"Don't kill you? Don't kill you? You can't think of anything other than that?" The barrel was pressed further against the man's head. "Bet you think you're so smart, Yagami. Kill my parents and the debt you owe will just 'disappear'. Is that what you were thinking? Cause it doesn't." As he slowly drew closer to pulling the trigger, he didn't notice the man's smile. "But at this po-"

He was cut off as the man spun around redirected the gun to the wall before he shot, then twisted his arm as he screamed in pain before getting thrown against the wall, dropping his revolver.

Before Minato recovered, he was hit with a left hook which caused him to stumble to the side before he tried to uppercut the man, only to miss and get hit with a right hook. He turned a bit while stumbling away as he, with his good arm, took out one of his knives and tried to strike, only to fail again as said arm was caught before the man slammed his knee against his elbow, breaking his arm and causing him to scream in pain again.

The man took the chance to take his chance to grab the knife and stab the boy in the chest, causing him freeze in place before being shoved the ground. He tried to say something but was unable to as blood was already filling his lungs. All he could hear was his revolver getting picked up.

"Ya know, for someone who's supposed to be from a family so powerful you and your parents are real idiots." He heard the man say. "Leave yourself completely unguarded, wasting your time talking and talking with no regards or even trying to protect yourself, not paying attention to what's right in FRONT OF YOU!" Then he felt something stomp on the hilt of the knife, causing him to spit up blood.

"Ya know, if you had just given me a bit more time, I would've gotten the rest of the money. I'm only, what twenty thousand yen short? I would've gotten that by then, but you and your parents had to show your faces to fuck me up." He says while checking the barrel and spinning it. "Say hi to them for me, will ya?"

*BANG!*

And like that, it was all over. At least for Minato's life on Earth... but it was then that a new life began for him... except, not somewhere he had expected.

Minato's groans were the first thing he heard before his eyes opened to a blurry sight. He rubbed his eyes at first before he started to hear chatter. Then the feeling of concrete beneath him finally registered in his brain. As he sat up, he looked down, his vision clearing up.

He began to wonder if he had perhaps passed out in a street of some sorts as he stood up. Then as he looked around, his eyes widened. There were creatures that weren't human staring right at him in the same amount of shock he had. Those of which varied between having horns, red and yellow eyes, and red skin, almost demonic.

"Is that a human?"

"How in the nine circles did one get down here?"

"Where do you think it came from?"

He heard as he was looking around, wondering just where the hell he was. Then he looked up, hoping to see the blue sky, only to see it filled with red and where the sun or moon should be now showed that of a pentagram. His mouth was opening and closing, yet no words came out. He looked back to the strange demon creatures before he made a run for... well, anywhere.

"Holy shit. Think he's still fresh?" One of the demons say to another.

"He probably is. Let's see how much we can get for his organs." The other says with an evil smile.

Minato continued to run down the street, millions of thoughts running through his head. He ended up stopping to catch his breath after a bit before trying to clear his head and think clearly. This place, the demonic folk, the red sky, the pentagram, was he...? No, he couldn't.

Then he remembered his last moment, watching as the leader of the Yagami clan shot him. There was no question about where he was, though, he was still in disbelief. Not that he'd end up in Hell, cause he knew he would be going to Hell, but he was shocked to not be hearing cries of pain all around. Wasn't this place supposed to be a place to torture sinners?

"Hey, human!" He jumped before turning to see one of the demons. "You're coming with us."

At first he reached into his jacket for his revolver... only to find it wasn't there. Of course none of his weapons were with him after death. He was about to run, only to be cut off by another one of them who pulled out a switchblade.

"Hold still and this'll be painless... not really!" It cackled before lunging at him.

Without hesitation he grabbed ahold it and threw it over his shoulder into the other before running down an alley only to be cut off by another. He turned only to see the other two, glaring pissed at him.

"So, you wanna play smart, huh?" One of them says while pulling out its own switchblade. "Just for that, let's see how long you last before dying."

Minato watched it approach, feeling something he never felt in a long time... fear. Was this really fate? To suffer here alone? To let these freaks dissect him like the monsters they were? No... he knew this was gonna come eventually, right? There's no telling about it... but did he want this.

"Let me hear you scream!" The demon then charged.

As he heard what it said, something snapped in him. And before he knew it, he reeled his fist back, then thrusted it into the demon's face, the sound of bones snapping filled the ears of all, before there was a sudden burst of green flame that sent the demon into the ground.

The dust formed from such had settle and the remaining demons found that the one who was punched was the ground, headless, and black blood oozing out of its corpse. They looked back at the boy who's fist was covered in green fire and his eyes glowed green and red with fury.

"Fuck this! I aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaain't havin' that shit."

They fled the scene, leaving the boy to himself, panting from the adrenaline rush. Then he snapped back into reality as he looked down at his hand. The flames disappeared before his mind finally registered what happened.

"W-What did I just...?" He says to himself.

"Minato?" Hearing his name called, he stopped and turned to the source of the voice.

His hopes were up as he recognized who it belonged to, though that was only another thing to add to the lists of surprises.

"Is that, you?" A tall being with blue skin, white hair and four horns asked him.

"M-Minato." A female demon with the same skin, but with black long hair, two horns, demon wings and tail says.

This caused him to become scared at the sight... though he started to notice several things. The first was that they knew who he was, the second was that their voices were all too familiar, and their bodies might've been different but, their faces matched only two people he could recognize. Again, his mouth open, but words didn't form.

"How are you...?" The male says while approaching him.

"S-Stay back! I don't want trouble." Minato says as he started walking backwards.

"Minato, it's okay. We're not here to hurt you."

That voice, he didn't want to believe what he was seeing was who he thought he was. There was no way that he or the other could be.

"Please... don't be afraid." The tall demon continued to approach him and put his hand on his shoulder which caused him to freeze.

He continued to stare at the two who only gave him sympathetic looks rather than looking threatening as he expected. His thoughts were still spinning around in his head as to if these two were really who he thought they were. Only two words could be formed and heard from his mouth.

"Mom... dad..."

... Okay, I'm gonna come out and say that this is probably my worst at doing a prologue. So, yeah, I decided to cut the story building cause I don't know what to write next. But I guess the Helluva Boss Pilot wasn't the best despite the later episodes being amazing, so I guess this works... maybe?

Anyways, I promise I'll do better in the next chapters. At first I was gonna make it a reader story, but you know, I'm a little tired of reader stories, so I'm gonna be using an OC for this story. Besides, I hope this story is somewhat unique compared to others... hopefully.
