I walked quickly and quietly towards the toilets, pushing open the door into the stone cold room, placing my bag down on to the counter before slipping into one of the stalls. Walking out of the stall, I stood frozen.

A man-like figure stood by the sinks gazing into the mirrors. A mask covered his face, pale blue eyes peering through two tiny holes. "You know this is the girls toilets" I breathed out, trying not to look in his eyes, fear struck.

What I didn't expect was the man to leap on me, a knife firmly gripped in his hand, clean and sharp. A sharp pain was inflected in the side of my head as hands slid around my neck, air become scarce and my eyesight was filled with stars. Everything was blurry and confusing. Everything in slow motion before he let go, I could already feel the pain go away as I gasped for air, thinking it was almost over. I was wrong. Blood gushed from my sides and I screamed out, the knife slicing the skin in an agonizing slow pace.

My small black backpack dropped, the items clattering around on the ground, my purse, textbooks, laptop, ID card and empty wrappers. From the bag fell a small note someone had dropped into my locker earlier that day.

I lay spread across the floor, hair fanned out around my head, the knife next to my hand along with the note. I was itching to read it. It could've been a life changing note, or maybe just some secret admirer. Whatever it was, I wasn't going to be able to read it.

I was losing conscience quickly, the light was slowing fading, as some people would say I was walking into the light. Loud ringing swarmed my ear, it was unbearable, making me wish it was over sooner rather than later. Closing my eyes and taking one last sharp, painful breath before I closed my eyes, letting darkness consume. The last thing I heard was gentle taps of shoes clicking away from my body.

Then it went black.
