Garret Jacob Hobbs
Ashley hesitated slightly before knocking on Will's hotel room door. She merely blinked in surprise when Hannibal was the one to open the door. "Oh, I should've known you'd be here." Raising the cardboard drink carrier she smiled sheepishly. "Good thing I brought three coffees."
Hannibal glanced at it with momentary annoyance, alerting the girl that she had interrupted something. Tossing her a fake smile he responded. "Good thing indeed. Please, come in."
Will had stood up to greet her, seemingly embarrassed by the fact that he was only wearing boxers and a t-shirt. She placed three cups on the table. "These two are coffee and this is milk and sugar."
Will raised his eyebrows in surprise. "Just milk and sugar?"
She shrugged in response. "It worked for Michael Scott."
Hannibal eyes the fourth mug that was still in the carrier. "And the fourth?"
She raised it again. "Back off Doc, this one's mine. I already gave you yours. Well," she glanced between the two with a sly smile, "I'll leave you two to it then."
Will's eyebrows furrowed in confusion before his eyes widened with horror. "Oh no, we didn't... he just..."
She scrunched her face up in disgust. "I'm gonna have to stop you there, I really would prefer the least amount of details possible. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go bathe myself in bleach."
The door closed swiftly behind her, and Hannibal mentally cursed the small teen and her nonexistent filter. "I must apologize for my cousin. She has always been one for teasing."
Ashley glared down at the paper in her hand. The less sleep she got, the worse her dyslexia seemed to get. Of course, she didn't necessarily have to read what she was looking at the moment, but that didn't make it any less annoying. All she was looking for was blank info.
The brunette paused before handing the file to Will. "What about this one? There's no address."
He glanced at the file. "Garret Jacob Hobbs." He glanced up at the lady at the desk. "Does Mr. Hobbs have a daughter?"
The woman let out a frustrated "I don't know maybe."
Hannibal glanced at Will and Ashley. "What is it you two find about Mr. Hobbs that's so peculiar?"
Ashley irked an eyebrow. "If you'd been listening, you would know."
Will didn't bother glancing up as he answered the question. "The others left addresses."
Hannibal raised an eyebrow. "And therefore he has something to hide?"
Ashley nodded firmly. "Yes. The average contractor in Minnesota gets anywhere from 23-51 dollars per hour, totaling anywhere from 28 to 100k per year, so he's most certainly not homeless. And he missed days of work at a time without any real reason given that just so happen to align with the missing girls. Coincidence? I think not."
Ashley had come up with the conclusion that she hated being right. They arrived just in time for Garret Jacob Hobbs to throw his wife [who was bleeding out from a gash in her neck] out the door. Will knelt down besides her while the two cousins stood side by side, knowing that her soul had already made up its mind.
He pushed himself off the ground and kicked down the door. Ashley snapped out of her trance and quickly followed. She felt the blow of the gunshots, but she ignored it and focused on her panicking teacher and the girl lying down in a pile of her own blood.
Her smaller hands carefully guided him so that he was applying pressure on the wound properly. She could feel him staring at her in shock, but she didn't meet his gaze. "Stay here. I'm gonna go find a medkit." Her green eyes shifted up and she scowled. "Lecter, what the fuck are you doing? Call an ambulance dumbass!"
Whether she liked it or not, the Al'Ghul was born for leadership, both in a metaphorical and literal sense. The second she was born she felt as if she had been stamped with an expiration, but she didn't learn when that date was until she discovered the truth about her family.
A half-blood of the eldest gods shall reach 16 against all odds... It was a line that never left her head. Instead, it repeated like a broken record, playing the same scratchy hallow voice over and over.
While strictly speaking Ashley was only a quarter god, she still fits the category due to her Mother being a quarter demon. If you were to exclude Nico [and her Dad, because he was older than 16, obviously], there was a 50% chance the prophecy was about her. In all honesty, it was probably the only way she managed to summon up the courage to knowingly cuss out a cannibal that loves to eat the rude.
Ashley disappeared down the hallway before she returned with a medkit. Will was shaking profusely but she remained eerily still despite her hands, which focused on addressing the wound and her mouth, which was moving as she talked to the slightly older girl.
It all faded to white noise for Will. Despite the fact that he could see Ashley's and Hannibal's lips moving, despite the fact that he could see Abigail Hobbs gasping for breath as the brunette girl hovered over her, he couldn't hear a thing.
