-6 years later-

Roman's P.O.V.

"I got in!" I was sitting in the café with my friend Akina who was practically dancing in her seat. 

"That's great, Akina." We had been friends since preschool and she had just gotten into Brooklyn College (actual college btw). I had not yet gotten into a college, though there was one I wanted to get into. "Do you want to go see a play tonight?" she asked me shyly. I winced. I was pretty sure Akina liked me, the problem was, I didn't like her back. I had come out to myself as gay, the problem was, I hadn't told anyone else and was too scared to. 

"Sure!" I said cheerfully. Right then, my phone buzzed. "My Mom wants me home, Aki. See ya later." I walked out and started walking toward my house which was only a block away. Once I got there, I went inside and my mom was sitting on the couch.

 "Hi, Mom," I said, sitting down next to her. "What did you need to tell me?" My Mom looked over at me. 

"Well, Roman, the truth is-" my phone started to ring. "Hello?" 

"Hey Roman turns out the play starts in about 15 minutes. I'm already here, so could you hurry?" Akina sounded frustrated so I gave in. "Alright, be there in ten." I hung up the phone. "Mom, Akina got us tickets to a play it turns out it starts sooner than she thought. So, can we talk about this over breakfast?" My Mom sighed. "Over breakfast." I smiled. "Thanks, Mom! I'll see ya."

-after the play (lazy)-

Akina was talking to me, but I kinda tuned her out. As we were walking towards her house, some dude just shoved right past me and didn't even say excuse me or anything. 

"Dude, what the hell?" I turned around to look at the guy who had just shoved past me. He was extremely small, considering I was 5.11 this guy must have been around 5.7. He was also surprisingly cute.

 Someone ahead of him, dressed similarly paused and turned around and came to stand next to him. He was taller, about 5.10. 

"How the f*ck can you see me?"
