"The Honkai grows with civilization and is a recurring cataclysmic event..."

Himeko Murata voice could be heard as she continued on with her lecture.

"During the 1st Honkai Eruption in Berlin, 1953, people first discovered..."

*Snore*

Kiana was busy drooling on her desk as she slept.

*Twitch*

Himeko had a tic mark on her face as she continued:

"That concentrated Honkai produces a core that turns a human host into a 'Herrscher' who can bend physical laws..."

*ZZZZZ*

Kiana continued sleeping.

*Twitch* *Twitch*

Himeko looked to be on the verge of exploding.

(M/N) just sweatdropped.

'Girl wants to be a high level Valkyrie so bad, yet she just sleeps.'

"The Herrscher of the Void..."

Himeko continued.

???

This time, (M/N) was the one to twitch at that.

Why did that feel important to him?

"...Appeared in the 2nd Honkai Eruption of 2000 and initiated a global disaster..."

"..."

Hmm...

"Zzzzz....hehehe....Zzzz...."

Kiana sleep talked.

This continued on until the bell rang.

*BRIIIIING!!*

"That's it for classes." Himeko ended. "You'll have tomorrow off. But remember that the exam is on the day after. Be sure to review the course materials."

The students nodded as they began packing up and leaving. Mingling with friends as they left the classroom.

Until only (M/N), Himeko, and Kiana were the only ones left in the class.

"Zzzz..."

Kiana snored.

"Kiana?" Himeko called out to the sleeping girl. "Wake up, girl. The class has ended."

"Zzzz..."

Kiana 'said'

*Twitch*

"Oi, midget." (M/N) spoke up, saving Kiana from a rude awakening. "Wake up, already."

*Bite*

?!

"Nom...nom..." Kiana sleepily said as she nommed on (M/N) arm. "Chicken pot...(M/N) beefy, muscular arm...."

!?

"Get off of me."

(M/N) said as he pulled a certain signature two finger swat that a certain uncle likes to do.

*THWACK!!*

"OW!"

Kiana shouted as she woke up and pulled back from trying to eat the Toa of Life arm.

"What was that for!?"

She asked, completely unaware of what she was doing a few seconds earlier.

"...This is the Valkyries that are entrusted with the future?" Himeko just shook her head. "I feel sad for this world already."

!!!

"Oh, auntie Himeko!" Kiana sweated nervously. "I wasn't sleeping in your class; I was just closing my eyes!"

"Right..." Himeko deadpanned. "And I'm sure you were just closing your eyes when you decided to take a bite of (M/N) beefy muscular arm."

"When I was-EEEEKK!!"

Kiana screamed as she realized what Himeko told and she turned to look at said male arm. And true to the veteran Valkyrie words, there was a bite mark where she had been chewing on his arm.

"Take a picture." (M/N) deadpanned. "It'll last longer."

O///O

Kiana face was redder than Himeko hair!

She had no way of escaping this one!

"You really think my arms are beefy and muscular?"

(M/N) blinked.

A little confused about the strange lingo.

"..."

Kiana turned her face away.

There was no way she was answering that!

*SIGH!!*

Himeko decided to just want to get this over with.

"I'll let you off IF you can answer this question."

Kiana had her full attention on her.

"What is one form of Honkai manifestation?"

Himeko asked.

"Kiana the uber Honkai!"

She confidently said.

"...AT least I know the reasons behind your moronic displays."

Himeko gave her a look of despair.

(M/N) just facepalmed.

*BEEP!!*

"Himeko the uber-tyrant!"

She confidently said.

!!!

"Why you little..!!"

Himeko proceeded to strangle Kiana Homer Simpson style.

*GACK!!* *GACK!!*

Kiana choked out as Himeko strangled her!

"I'm going to treat you like a Honkai!"

(M/N) sweatdropped.

'Should...I stop this?'

'...'

'Right.' He mentally sighed. 'Still asleep...'

*BEEP!!*

"Honkai Beasts and Zombies!"

She confidently shouted.

"...I almost gave up on you." Himeko reluctantly admitted. "This question is super easy."

"Alright!" Kiana brightened up. "I'll head off to the dorms to play HOMU...I mean, study for the exams! Yeah!"

She said.

"Nice try, Kiana." Himeko tutted. "But you're not going anywhere. Fu Hua, please help. Don't go easy on her."

She ordered the Class Monitor.

"Yes, Himeko sensei." Fu Hua nodded. "I'll do everything I can to help Kiana pass the exams."

"Is this really necessary?"

(M/N) just sighed.

Rough around the edges she was, but incredibly skilled in the field of combat she was as well.

"Yes."

Himeko and Fu Hua said.

"We can test out the new training system we just installed." Himeko added. "It will be used in the exam. Just watch out for the traps."

*GRAB*

"Let's go, Kiana."

Fu Hua cheerfully said as she dragged the poor, unwilling Valkyrie away.

"WAAAHH Q_Q!!" Kiana cried crocodile tears. "Let me go!"

"..."

(M/N) and Himeko just watched as she was pulled away.

"That poor soul." (M/N) shook his head. "May her soul rest in peace."

"You act like she's going to die."

Himeko just stared at him.

"This coming from you?"

(M/N) side glanced at her.

!?

"You can tell!?"

Himeko stared at him in shock.

"..."

(M/N) simply walked off somewhere.

"...And there he goes." Himeko muttered to herself. "Walking off like some bad boy who doesn't give a fuck."

'But how did he know?'

Was the question running through her head.

-Some time later-

"AWUGH! I'm beat!"

Kiana groaned as she laid on her bed.

"But...Class Monitor Fu Hua isn't as bad as I thought she would be." She admitted. "She seems nicer than I was willing to believe and was very helpful! It's like she knew how to speak my language!"

"...Can't believe she's already an A-rank Valkyrie. Man, I need to catch up!"

With that said, she closed her eyes and fell asleep.

...Only to wake up in an unexpected place in her dreams.

"Huh?" Kiana blinked. "Where is this place? Why am I here?"

She did not recognize this facility and was confused on why she would be dreaming about it.

"For too long, I have slept." A cold, ominous voice spoke up. "But now the wheels of fate have started to turn again."

!?

'Who is that!?'

Kiana thought to herself.

"Welcome home, Kiana of House Kaslana."

The voice greeted her.

"Home?"

What in the world was this psycho chick talking about?

"This isn't my home. Who are you? Why do you know my name?"

The voice chuckled.

"Now that's a story. Do you like the world I've built for you?"

The voice asked.

"World? What are you talking about?" Kiana asked, before she realized. "Wait, this is a dream!"

After realizing that, she started to pinch herself.

"Wake up, wake up!"

She said.

"Are you trying to leave?" The voice asked. "You're making me cry."

She had a tone of mock hurt in her voice.

"But..." The voice chuckled. "Leaving this place isn't as easy as you think it will be."

"So, try to entertain me."

"Hey!" Kiana shouted. "Don't you dare mock me! I'll show you the true might of Kaslana! I'm the bestest and the most uber Valkyrie of Schicksal...in a few years' time, of course!"

"You?" The voice laughed. "A Valkyrie? HAHAHAHA! They really didn't tell you anything."

"Not your past, not your mother, not even why your father abandoned you."

"Aren't you curious though? Where did your mother go? Why did your father leave you in the first place?"

Kiana was getting more and more pissed at the Voice taunting words.

"HEY!" She shouted. "How come you know all of this?!"

"Oh?" The voice said. "Have your attention now, do I?"

"Silly, Kiana. I have been watching you. Even in your dreams."

"Now, that's just creepy."

(M/N) voice startled the two as the owner could be seen leaning against the wall.

"(M/N)?!"

Kiana shouted out in shock.

"HOW!?"

The Voice shouted out in shock.

"How are you here!?" She asked/demanded. "There is no way you could possibly be here!!"

"Fool." (M/N) scoffed. "The power of dreams is not one that is so easily understood. The ability to walk in dreams is a dangerous power to be sure."

!?

"You...can enter people dreams?"

Kiana asked in surprise.

Will (M/N) never stop surprising them?

"Yes." (M/N) simply crossed his arms. "I generally don't enter people dreams. But...we have a bond DIFFERENT from the bonds of others. And it is this bond that pulled me away from my dreams and brought me here."

'Of course.' He thought to himself. 'That's not including the fact that I was attempting to try to communicate with Mata Nui and Ignika.'

-Flashback-

In (M/N) dorm, we can see our hero in a meditative position. Hovering over his bed as his energy flowed through him and all around him.

He was, once again, trying to wake up his companions from their slumber. Hoping at the very least to be able to talk to them, even if it's only in dreams. But so far, there were no results.

*HUM*

His power surged as he traversed the world of dreams. Dreamwalking into them as he tried to find the one, he was looking for.

*GLOW*

A flashing light caught his attention as he slowly turned his head to see one dream world calling out to him.

'Strange.' He thought to himself. 'What could this world possibly want to show me?'

Deciding to take a chance, he 'walked' into that dream.

*FLASH!!*

"What the!?"

(M/N) shouted as his eyes were momentarily blinded.

Once he opened them, he was stunned by what he saw.

In front of him were...

'Two versions of me?'

The Toa of Life thought to himself.

For it was the truth.

There were two alternate versions of himself standing in two different settings.

One was in a familiar setting in the world he was in.

But different, the (M/N) here was definitely different.

He glowed with a strange golden glow that brimmed with ancient power. A figure next to him, tall and with glowing golden eyes. As sturdy and unmoving as the earth itself. Cloaked in a garb that made him dangerous and strong.

...He also gave (M/N) the strangest sensation that he liked to be a troll and leave his alternate version to deal with his problems.

A strange chess like piece glowing in his counterpart hands.

(Wonder if people will get the reference)

The other version of him was standing on a...train?

With seven strange jewels that emitted ancient, mystical powerful energy. Streaks of red in his hair. Two figures (male and female) by his side, smiling as they took a selfie.

'Wait...' (M/N) eyes narrowed. 'Isn't that Himeko?'

His eyes were drawn to the figure of Himeko that was with them. As well as the others that were on the train.

Interesting.

*GLOW*

!?

The Mask of Life made an appearance as it glowed. Somehow, his counterparts found their attention drawn to him.

???

'Is this dream...being shared?'

Was his thought as the other two stared in surprise at seeing an alternate version of themselves.

The chess piece glowing in one (M/N) hand. The jewels glowing in the other, with the red one in the other (M/N) hand glowing brightly.

And the Ignika glowing in (M/N) own hands.

The powerful items glowed with an incredibly burst of power!

*FLASH!!*

"GAH!"

(M/N) closed his eyes as the light got too bright.

And when he opened them...

...He found himself in yet another dream.

This time with...

"Kiana?"

(M/N) thought to himself as the Voice started talking and taunting Kiana.

And when she made that last comment.

"Now, THAT is just creepy."

He entered the conversation.

-End flashback-

"And also." (M/N) glared at the air. "What do you want from her? And why did you try to invade my mind when we first met?"

???

"Invade your-?"

Kiana tried to speak.

"You have a parasite living inside you."

(M/N) simply said.

"PARASITE!?"

The voice roared with anger!

How dare this insect call her an insect!?

"EH?!" Kiana yelled. "I have a parasite living inside me!?"

"HEY!!" The voice yelled. "Watch it! Or else, you won't learn the truth behind the mountain of lies you have been told!"

"And why..." (M/N) got in front of Kiana in a protective stance. "Should she follow you?"

"AWW!!" The voice cooed. "What this I see? The Knight in shining armor protecting his Princess?"

O///O

Kiana blushed heavily at that. Realizing that it looked exactly like she said.

All that was missing is him carrying her princess style in his strong arms.

'Wait...what did I just thought of right now!?'

Kiana blush worsen as she realized what she just imagined.

God! Why did he make her so confused on her feelings!?

"But anyways..." The Voice got back to business. "Let's play a little game. Catch me and I'll share a few of my secrets with you."

The Voice slowly started fading as it moved away from them.

"Hey, wait!"

Kiana shouted.

"Come on, Kiana."

The Voice called out. Egging her on.

"Gnh!"

Kiana grunted at the Voice taunting tone.

*PAT*

?!

Kiana turned her head to see (M/N) hand on her shoulder.

"Even though I don't trust her." He said. "Perhaps there is something we can learn from this."

"Let's go."

He simply said.

"Right!"

Kiana smiled as the two began following the voice.

Chasing after the voice, they saw two strange portals.

"Isn't this place familiar, Kiana?"

The Voice asked as the two stared at the portals.

"Divide and conquer?"

Kiana suggested.

"No..." (M/N) gaze frowned. "That won't work here because one of them is a fake."

!!!

"Try to use your experience as a Valkyrie and discern which portal is the real portal."

(M/N) smirked.

!!!

'Ohh, game on!!'

Kiana thought to herself as she observed the two portals.

'Go to that one.'

A thought was niggling at her to take the portal on the left.

'Is that correct?' She thought to herself. Before shaking her head. 'No. That seems to sus.'

Trusting her instincts over the random thought in her head, she chose the right portal instead of the left.

"I'm impressed." The Voice said. "I thought you'd be misled by the fake Dreamland Portal."

"Screw you!" Kiana shouted out. "You won't deceive a Valkyrie like me!"

*THUD*

Suddenly, 2 Vigiles and 1 Razor Claw appeared from the portal.

"Should have known this wasn't going to be easy."

(M/N) said as he jumped into the air.

"Hah!"

And launched an attack from the sky.

*BAM!!*

*SHRIEK!!*

And destroyed the Honkai Beasts with just one attack.

"Hmm..." The Voice mused, intrigued at (M/N) power. "I should have taken into account just how powerful you are."

"Let's go."

(M/N) simply said.

"Right!"

Kiana nodded her head in agreement.

Interested to see what precious information the Voice had.

The two continued onwards, fighting off Honkai Beasts that appeared and progressing farther into the Dream Maze.

Until finally...

"Congratulations!" The Voice spoke up. "You have reached your final destination!"

"Huff...huff..." Kiana caught her breath. "These monsters are nothing. Now tell me something already!"

"What would you like to know?"

The Voice 'smiled'.

"What exactly happened between my parents?!"

Kiana asked.

"Easy, Kiana." (M/N) said. "Don't let her wound you up."

"Ah." The Voice said. "So, that's how it is. Very well, this story begins 14 years ago."

!!!

"14 years ago!?" Kiana shouted. "Are you talking about the time when the 2nd Honkai Eruption happened in Siberia!?"

"Good." The Voice 'nodded'. "You do know that despite being a tuna."

"Hey!"

"A girl was chosen by the Honkai, just like your dear Mei in Nagazora, to act as its Herrscher."

The Voice continued on, as if she didn't hear Kiana indignant shout.

"Of course, your dear Mei is the host of the 3rd Herrscher and is a pale imitation of what true Honkai is."

The Voice said.

'...Why is this reminding me of what Master Xehanort did to Ventus in an attempt to create the X-Blade and ignite another Keyblade War?'

(M/N) shuffled uneasily.

Remembering that rather unpleasant journey in his life.

'Oh?' The Voice thought to herself. 'Did I trigger an unpleasant memory for him? Interesting, and here I thought nothing phased him.'

"Of course." She continued. "If we have a 3rd Herrscher, then there should be a first and a second...."

"Go on..."

Kiana firmly said.

"The 2nd Honkai Eruption 14 years ago gave birth to the 2nd Herrscher in that snowy region of Siberia."

The Voice lectured on.

"The 3rd Herrscher has master overy lightning and the 2nd Herrscher has command over the Void itself."

!!!

"The Void?" (M/N) said to himself. "There is someone that wields the power to command the Void?"

"Facing planetary annihilation." The Voice continued. "Schicksal dispatched the only S-rand Valkyrie they had to defeat this Herrscher."

'From the sounds of things.' (M/N) thought to himself. 'The Herrscher are like the Makuta. Powerful beings that should not be taken lightly and alone. It takes a team of Toa to fight just one Makuta. I imagine it would be the same here!'

Why did Schicksal not send more than just one? A Herrscher shouldn't be taken lightly from his understanding!

"That Valkyrie is unique indeed." The Voice bitterly admitted. "She is a precious yet expandable doll. And her name: Cecilia Schariac."

"Your mother."

!?

"Mom?" Kiana said to herself. "She was a Valkyrie?"

'She really didn't know?'

(M/N) thought to himself in shock.

How could she not know a vital fact about her mom?

"Yes, indeed." The Voice confirmed. "And her husband is none other than your father."

"Siegfried Kaslana. He was supposed to give her support."

'Support on what exactly?'

(M/N) frowned.

This Voice was not making any sense. And was getting on his last nerves.

He wasn't stupid, he could tell she was holding back a lot more.

'She's baiting her.' He understood. 'She's trying to get her to lower her guard with precious information before she strikes.'

And for some reason, that bothered him a lot. Why, he did not know. Just that he felt strange when with Kiana and protective as a result. Though he never showed it.

Kiana was more than capable of defending herself and he honestly just chalked it up to slowly regaining his emotions.

"Did my mom..."

*RUMBLE*

Kiana question was interrupted as the Dreamscape began to shake.

"Seems like you're waking up now." The Voice said. "Dawn is breaking so I'll leave you at this cliffhanger."

"We'll continue this some other time."

!!!

"Hey, wait!"

Kiana shouted, but it was too late. The voice was no longer talking and the scenery around them was changing.

"Take it easy, Kiana."

(M/N) simply said as he stood next to her.

"We'll learn the truth eventually."

"But..."

Kiana tried to argue.

Only to stop as (M/N) did something unexpected.

*GRAB*

"EEK!!"

Kiana squeaked as (M/N) wrapped her in a hug.

His serious eyes staring down at her.

"Don't rush in this journey." (M/N) simply said. "We will reach the end of our journeys in some point in our lives. There is no need to worry about it."

"Besides, didn't Theresa promised you to tell you more about your father if you ascend to A-rank?"

!!

"I forgot about that." Kiana sheepishly said.

"..."

*GRIP*

Kiana decided to hug him back, her grip tightening as she buried her face in his chest.

'Stupid tall ikeman.' She pouted. 'Stupid muscular chest that smells nice.'

Which was weird now that she thought about it. Because how on earth could she smell his scent if they were dreaming?

'Ah, life is weird.'

She thought to herself as the scene began disappearing as they slowly began waking up.

"..."

"Hey...(M/N)?"

She suddenly said.

"Hmm?"

(M/N) looked to her.

*CHU!!*

!?

'Wha-?'

(M/N) brain short circuit as Kiana kissed him.

"Thank you."

Kiana said as she pulled back, her face red with embarrassment.

'Ahh! Why did I do that?!' She thought to herself. 'That's going to create misunderstandings!'

But she couldn't help herself. She wanted to thank him, but she didn't know how!

Giving him a kiss seemed to be the only thing she could think of!

'His lips felt nice.' Kiana idly thought to herself. 'And firm as well."

And surprisingly, she didn't feel that scared and confused with that train of thought.

'Guess I'm seeing him as a real friend now.'

She thought to herself.

(...Still in denial, huh?)

'...Her lips are soft and smooth.'

Was all (M/N) thought as the two finally woke up.

In the void of the dream, the Voice mused.

"This is getting more and more interesting." She said. "That strange male has proven to be a fascinating toy despite being an insect."

After all, entering Kiana dream along with having the guts to insult her. And to easily sense her intents.

"What an intriguing human."

The Voice mused as her appearance could finally be seen.

(Sirin)

"Once I take control of my host, my first act will be to claim him."

"After all..."

"A Queen does need her King."

AND DONE!

Can't believe I was able to get this part out!

So, it seems we have a little character development with Kiana slowly falling in love with (M/N)...though she seems to think they are just friends. Talk about dense.

(M/N) starting to slowly regain his emotions and feels protective over Kiana. Even if he's confused on why.

Our dear Sirin has taken an interest in our hero and wants him for herself.

A couple of cameos were made. Though I wanted to make them interact, I was not getting any inspiration to make any conversations.

Next chapter will have our dear Captain and a certain Death Maid making their appearance.
