Issac POV

I am with Sam and Mike at their store.  We have had 72 families sign up for sanctuary today. "Mike and Sam can you two come over here? I would like to talk with you guys."

Mike walks over, "Sam will be here in a few minutes. He needed to make a phone call to confirm shipping for tomorrow's delivery."

A few minutes later Sam joins us, "sorry for the delay Issac. Or will we need to address you as Alpha Issac now?"

"You are friends so Issac is fine. As for the others it can be either  Issac or Alpha. Then if they do decide to become official pack members it will be Alpha."

"Thank you. I will be sure to let everyone know. I do think they should say Alpha or Alpha Issac out of respect for your title unless they become personal friends. This can be part of the stages of giving respect."

"Your choice. I just was thinking not shoving my rank could help their adjustment toward acceptance.  Though I won't tolerate out right disrespect.  Which this lead to what I want to talk to you about. Before I leave. I have a position I would like to offer you."

Mike ask, "a position?"

"Yes, I would like to know would you be willing to become the ambassador to the sanctioned rouges."

Sam ask, "what would an ambassador do?"

"After I leave today you would...

1.) if a rouge comes to the city and wants sanctuary they would come to you. They would take the
Sanctuary pledge.

2.) they would sign the papers agreeing to the pledge. The sanction would be good for one year. Then they have a choice to repledge the sanction or become a pack member. They would get a copy and you keep a copy. Then fax me a copy of paperwork.

3.) you would be sent copies of the pack meetings notes and can share them with the sanctioned members."

4.) My dad, Elder Ezra has agreed to the the liaison pack member to contact if anyone needs help. This help could be if they fall on hard times we help them or if trouble maker rouges come we would respond to help you.

Basically you would be the point of contact for the sanction wolves. You would know that any red eye rouges are not eligible for sanctioned and you are the only one who will know this. You accept the paperwork. But when you sign the paperwork you add an "I" as a middle initial. This will tell me these rouges have red eyes and I will decline their request. However I would have a counseling rehab facility set up to see if they could be rehabilitated. That would basically decide their future."

"I have a feeling I know their future from rehab, but please expand," Sam replied.

"If rehab works they would move yo a half way home and eventually into their own home. If it doesn't work they will be sent to the Lycan prison or put to death as a last resort.  However, if a rogue comes in causing problems we can help take care of it. If we have sanctioned wolves who want to become a police force to take care of the problems we would help train them. This way this sanctioned city can learn to protect their own."

I could see Mike and Sam linking back and forth for a few minutes. Then Mike replies,  "We would be honored to accept this position. Can you let us know when the memorial will be? If granted permission we would like to attend."

"I can do that. I need to go now. Contact me or dad if you need us. If really urgent contact councilwoman Marcia. She is our point of contact and will be staying around until after the memorial to assist. Her and mom came from the same pack and grew up together. Here is my number, dad's number and her number." Hands them the card.

I then head back to the pack house. We had wolves to prepare for their memorial. Plus the Lycan would be arriving later on today.

When I got back I seen Meri and Emily just sitting by Brent and Bryan.  Meri was not letting anyone touch her mates yet. I walked up to her, "Meri, we need to decide what we need to do. Do we want them in their nice outfit? warrior uniform? causal?  Do you want them in the same raft or different raft? Who do you want to fire the arrow? What belongings do you want placed in the rafts?"

She shook her head, "I cannot wash them. The doctor told me to just watch. I want to do it but it risk the last gift they gave me." She pats her stomach. "The doctor said they are to heavy for me to do it. How can I let anyone do what I am suppose to do?" Tears start to run down her face.

"I have an idea, I will send in mom and the sisters. I will move your chair around to wash their feet. Then let everyone else wash the rest of them. Then since the warrior equipment is heavy. I send in their trusted warriors they consider their honor guard and they dress them in full honor. They will then carry you and your chair around from feet to head. Then you braid their hair. You give them their final kiss before you place the helmet on.  This way you do the first and last item. Still spend the whole time sitting. However will ask the nurse to stay with you to check you periodically."

She nods her head and I move her to their feet. Emily hands her the washcloth so she starts there. Meri looked at Emily, "Why don't you assist me. You were their mother." Then the others came in and helped prepare their bodies. When we were done I then linked the warriors whom were going to be the honor guards came in and dressed them. Meri sat in her chair and everyone else stood along the wall. Meri was moved to their hair. She combed it and did the warrior braid. She looked at me, "please have the girls brought in to say goodbye to their daddies." I then linked Claire and she brought the babies. Meri stood up and leaned foreword and kissed them. The grandmothers each brought a girl. They saw their daddies, "daddy nigh nigh." They kissed their cheeks and tried to crawl on their daddies. When the grandmothers pulled them back they started crying. "Dada dada" Meri then snapped their helmet closed. She turned and took the girls from her mom and mother in law. She walked out of the room with tears running down her face and trying to comfort her crying pups. She took them into the room the doctors have been keeping her in and shut the door.

I linked the warriors, "go offer to dress Benjamin. When they have him ready link me. We will set up the front yard up as the viewing." I then turned to the nurse, "go make sure she is ok from carrying the twins." I then went to my office and closed the door.

30 minutes later the guards linked Ben is ready. I messaged the pack "in 15 minutes i will be leading the families to the viewing." Once ten minutes had passed I walked out of my office. I went to Benjamin's room first. I knocked. The door opened. Four warriors were carrying him and his family were walking behind him. I then proceeded to the next door. My sister came out. I saw Izzy and Ana were holding the twins. She took her place behind Benjamin's family. I proceeded down the hall and knocked on the Beta's door. I knocked and the door opened I saw Emily open the door. I was met by Eight warriors carrying Brent and Bryan. They got behind Meri. I continued walking down the hall. When I got to the doors to leave this wing along the hallways stood pack members. They stood up straight and placed their right hand over their heart as I lead the way to the front courtyards. As the procession past they joined the line. When we got to the front door a pack membered opened the door. In the court yard was the rest of the pack, the council and the Lycan. I went down the row they left opened. At the front were three stands for the fallen comrades to rest on. Their was one chair by each stand. A family member would take turns sitting there for the next 24 hours. It is during this time any friends could stop and pay tribute to the fallen warriors.

Once they are in place on the stands the warriors who brought the solders there took a step back. They give them a salute and stand there. The oldest elder warrior of the pack walks up to Benjamin. He does a lone wolf howl. He continues howling for one minute. He then walked up and stood by Brent and repeated his action. Finally to Bryan. He showed respect for each fallen comrade. Then it was a moment of silence. Then the ones who carried them to the place of viewing march away from the viewing area after giving them a salute. They joined the troops who were standing in formation. Then the group did a long woeful howl. They marched behind and each person saluted them before marching away from the area.

The Lycan and the committee members quietly leave the viewing to give the pack their time to say one on one goodbyes. Some pack members who were not close personal friends take this time to depart. They leave to let family and close personal friends a chance to say one on one goodbyes.

Issac walks up to Brett and Bryan and stands between them, "I remember when we were in grade school. It was the summer we turn 8. We had just seen Starwars with the Ewoks in the home theater. We spent the summer in the woods building our own Ewok tree houses. I don't know how many times we watched that movie and would go add another section to it. I still go to those treehouses when I need some thinking time. I will miss you my friends." He then leans down and hugs them goodbye. He walks over to stand by his family.

Alpha Bartholomew and Luna Angelini walk from the pack to stand between the two, "These two we're very special students I had under me. They were ones who came and challenged me. It had been about 20 years or so that I was challenged like this. They were like sponges. They wanted to soak up every bit of knowledge they could.

They also were kind and great leaders. They helped lead study groups not because they needed it but to help their fellow Betas. It was their leadership that had them win the capture the flag against the Alphas.

I am 99.9% sure it was them and their alpha (not going to name names Issac cough, Brett cough, Bryan cough) who pranked the school. I have checked the video feeds and still could not figure out how they got pink dye in just the shower lines. They even had themselves be pink so no one would suspect them. They blamed the upper classman who stated they were innocent. Their class then pranked the upperclassman. They filled the hall with those plastic rubber balls. There must of been thousands of them. I watched the video as they carried boxes after boxes of those balls. Then when the upperclassman opened the door their rooms got filled with those plastic balls. Then the upper classman went to take showers after training and they turned purple." He laughs at that memory and others joined in.

Alpha Issac laughed, "yes, one of them did the shower prank, but I was told about it afterwards. The reason was if caught they would have to prove which brother did it. They would not even tell me which one did that prank.  They claimed the other was not involved, but I did wonder if that was true. The upper classroom could not tell them apart."

Alpha Bartholomew chuckled. "As I said they were clever and smart. They still would call me even after they graduated. They called me Christmas Day to let me know another pup was coming. That was the last time I talked to them. I had told them that after this class I was officially retiring. I was deciding on my predecessor. They offered me a cottage on the lake on this territory to enjoy my golden years. I will miss them They were more than a student. They had become friends. Meri if you ever need help call on me." He then hugged them both and kissed Meri's cheek. Then went and stood by his mate again.

Luna Angelini then walked up and stood between them. She said, "they were strong in accepting their masculinity. If they saw a woman struggling they stopped what they were doing. One day one of the maids was struggling to carry a washed load of sheets outside to dry in the lines. They grabbed the basket and carried it down. Then started hanging it up. A few of the betas started teasing them about doing omega woman work. They stopped what they were doing. One of them looked at the boys, "she is someone's future mate. She deserves to be cherished and helped. She makes sure our beds have fresh clean sheets and she takes care of us. If she struggles we should return the kindness." Then they turned around and started hanging more sheets. Those betas came over and assisted. They even apologized. They were kind to others." Then she hugged them and Meri. She went back to where the pack friends  and her mate were standing.

Others spoke up and shared stories about them. Benjamin's family shared stories about him. Then about 10pm Elder Luna Donna said to Meri, "your dad is going to carry you up to bed. Izzy and Ana will sleep with you tonight. I am going to sit here during first watch with Emily to welcome anyone. You go get some rest Meri. You have that pup inside you to think about. Jacob and Sophia have already laid the girls down for the night and are with them. You need to be well rested for tomorrow. We will eat lunch at 11:00. Then after lunch the palanquin (it is a wheeless cart that is used to carry around passengers that is lifted and will carry it around) will arrive. You and the girls will be carried to Memorial Lake since doc said you should not be walking that far."

MERI POV

Dad carried me to my room. He handed me a drink and I drunk it. "Go take a shower and get dressed in your pajamas. Izzy and Ana will be here in a few minutes. I took a hot shower and began to yawn. I climbed out of the shower and put on Brett's boxers and Bryan's tshirt. Then climbed into bed. I started nodding off when Izzy and Ana climbed in beside me.

The next morning I climbed out of bed. It was 6:42am. I did my business. I saw boxes had been left there. That meant it was time to clean out their stuff. I kept 5 boxers and 5 shirts of each of theirs. The rest of their clothes and shoes were boxed up with Izzy and Ana's help. I went to where they kept their jewelry. All this was placed back in a wooden box to be returned to the family. These items were always given to the first born by the oldest son's mate. This meant I needed to give it to Samson since right now I had no son. I then went to pick up the smaller family pictures we kept in the room. They were holding the girls the day they were born, pictures of our Christmas  just a few days ago, the family photo of us all wearing green the day they became betas, pictures of the girls first time walking, me with them on my 16th birthday, and a few pictures of us together as children.  Soon all their personal stuff was removed from the room except for those clothes I put aside. This was our custom. The pictures would be given to the pups.

My sisters opened the door and some pack members came in and gathered the boxes. A couple people brought in a tray of toast, eggs, and bacon. Plus a pot of herbal tea. We ate it. Then my sisters lead me into the bath. They pour special oils into the water that would help give me strength to get through the day.

When I got out of the tub they helped me get dressed.  I was wearing a black maternity pants outfit with black camisole and blazer. It was only 10am. I went to where Selena and Serena was. I saw them in two black dresses. (See photo at start of chapter.) I sat there on the floor playing with them. A few minutes before 11:00 we headed to the luncheon. My sister carried the girls down.  We met Emily and Brent at the base of the steps. I gave them each a hug. They each took the girls. My sister slipped in ahead of us. I  saw Benjamin's mom and nephew. I walked over and gave her a hug. We all had tears in our eyes. I walked back and hooked my arms in both Emily and Brent. The doors were opened. Benjamin's family was to the right of Mom and Dad.  There was a place set for Benjamin. He spot was between my dad and Ben's mom.  Then it was our turn to walked to the head table Issac was sitting next to mom. Then there were two empty chairs. Then Emily and Brent. I was next to Brent. Then was a chair for Ana, a high chair for Selena and Serena and a chair for Izzy.  Plus a place for Emily and Brent. The warriors came forth and served our meals. On each of the fallen comrades plate they placed a Chrysanthemum. After we ate the pack got up and left. They were heading to memorial lake.  Once they are gone Benjamin's family leaves and then we leave. The palaquin is outside and I climb inside it. The girls are placed on each side of me. They fall asleep as we are carried to memorial lake.

I start thinking back over the memories of me and my mates. I had tears rolling down my face. When we got to the lake  their was a giant raft. The three fallen comrades had been placed on it. Around them were their personal belongings. They set the palaquin down. Ana and Izzy stays beside the sleeping girls. I got out and walked to Emily. Emily, Benjamin's mom and I were each handed the plate of Chrysanthemums by different warriors. We walked over and placed the plates on the raft. We then walked back to stand by the pack.

Benjamin's cousin went to the front and said the last words about his cousin.  Then Alpha Bartholomew stepped forward to give the final words over Brett and Bryan. He pulled a letter from his pocket. "These two gave me three letters to choose from if this day ever happened." The first letter was to Brett and Meri." He went and laid it on the raft. "The second was to Bryan and Meri." He placed it on the raft. He then held the third letter up, "this letter was just Meri.  They asked me to read the letter that applied at their final word memorial." He then opened up the letter and read it...

Our Beloved Mate,

If you are actually hearing this letter this means we have passed and joined the Moon Goddess's Army. Alpha Bartholomew kept up his end and reading this letter.

We want you to know when we were pups we cared for you, but hid it from our friends. We realized you were special to us the first day you went to kindergarten. You started crying after your mom left. A couple of older pack pups called you cry baby. Even though they were a couple years older than us we gave them a black eye and busted their lips. Then went over and wiped your tears and gave  you our cookies. We said, "don't cry little Meri. We will take care of you."

Anytime anyone messed with you from that point on we took care of it and never told Issac.  We were hoping then you were our mate.  The day we turned 16 we knew you were are mate, but customs said we could tell no one if a mate was not of age. We had to wait until you turned 16 to claim you.

We did claim you right away. It was the greatest day of our lives.  The second greatest day was the day you told us you were expecting.  We look forward to making memories with our pups and you. They have not been born yet at the time of this writing, but know we love you and them to the moon and back.

We do ask that you do not give up life with our passing. We ask that you take a chance on a second chance mate so our pups grow up with a father figure and with a strong loving mother as an example how you are a survivor.

We love you and will look foreword to the day you join us with the moon goddess.

As you leave our memorial remember the good times and share those.

We want you all to plan a celebration of life party with all our favorite foods, music and activities at the next full moon following our deaths. We have already made the arrangements and Alpha Bartholomew's pack will host it at our pack and will do pack patrols so everyone in SILVER BEAM can be there. They will make all the food, put up the decorations and we have planned a special entertainment for it. He will just need the date.

This is our final gift to the pack from us.

Alpha Bartholomew pauses and takes these three letters over. He hands one to Meri, Emily and Issac.
"These letters I was asked to hand to you three and know they did love you very much."

He then goes stand by his mate.

Alpha Issac then walks beside the raft. He nods to some warriors. They walk over and pour lavender oil on top of the bodies and belongings. Then Alpha Issac and them push the raft out into the lake.

Then one of warriors shoots a flaming arrow to the raft and everyone sits down and watches the raft burn into the night. When the raft goes up into flames they howl a final goodbye.
