Sebastian Vettel
VettelFerrari-So sorry, my girl, for taking so long with this, but I just wanted to get it right haha I hope you enjoy!
You wrung your hands as you stood off to the of a mass of people taking pre-race pictures with the racers. Usually, you would be joining the crowd, laughing at his under the breath comments and rolling your eyes at as he sends you seductive winks. But right now you couldn't stand around him without feeling sick.
Your job here was relocating to London and you weren't sure if the relationship you had with Sebastion was going anywhere. If there was anything. So, you had a choice; either move to London or tell your very best friend that your feelings for him have gone beyond that of friendship. You dreaded and looked forward to telling him such. You loved Germany and wanted a reason to stay; it was easier to find a new job than to an unrequited heart.
An announcer sounded over some speakers that the racer's needed to start to get ready. Security started to herd people away from the racers. Sebastian looked around, a part of him extremely bothered he didn't see you at the pre-race gathering. You were always with him at those. But then again he had a feeling something was going on. You were distant and he didn't know the first thing on how to cheer you up.
He was taking a drink when he spotted you just across from him a ways. He smiled when he saw you, completely forgetting that he had a mouth full of water. It spilled out and onto his shirt. You laughed, shaking your head, some of your anxiety falling away. Patting his now wet shirt he walked over to you, making your insides bubble with anticipation.
"So, fancy seeing you here."
You shrugged a shoulder and waved a hand dismissively. "Oh you know, heard there was this guy racing who thought himself a big hot shot so I had to come check him out for myself."
Sebastian smiled, stepping a bit closer. "And what do you think?"
You let out a breath and cocked your head to the side a bit. "I think he forgot how to drink water, poor guy. Might need a bib from now on."
The both of you chuckled. Looking around, you found yourself relatively alone with him. Sebastion could see the wheels turning in your head and took a step forward, reaching out to take one of your hands in his.
"Hey, (Y/n). What's got you so worked up lately, huh?"
His gentle words almost caused you to burst into tears right then and there. But you just took a deep breath and gave him a tight smile. "A lot has been going on and I need to tell you something."
The announcer came on again his voice booming about the racer's needing to be ready in fifteen minutes. But Sebastian didn't care. He only wanted to hear what you had to say and worried that his greatest fear was about to come true.
You reached up with your free hand and tucked some hair behind your ear before glancing at your joined hands and speaking.
"My work is relocating to London. I have been given the decision to go or stay but the job they are offering here isn't exactly the best and I don't think I will have enough money to keep my apartment with it."
Sebastian's heart dropped. "So, you are going then."
You traced a few of his scars on his hands with your fingers as you mustered the rest of your courage.
"I could. But I needed to make sure that I wouldn't be leaving a man who might love me without telling him that I loved him."
Sebastian blinked. 'A man', not him. This was turning out to be worse than he imagined. "Oh. Have you told him yet."
You took a deep breath and looked up at him, the sadness in his eyes surprising you but you had to press forward. "I just did." It came out quieter than you intended but by the look of shock on his face, you knew he heard.
Seb just stood there, holding your hand in his as he tried to process what you just said. All he could do was let a small smile surface, his mind still reeling. The announcer came back on and called for him specifically to get to his station and prepare.
You cleared your throat and looked away, not exactly happy with his response, or lack thereof. Sebastian kept looking at you so you just laughed quietly to yourself. You took a step forward and pressed a light kiss to his cheek.
"Good luck on your race." And then you left.
Sebastian watched you go, his body suddenly not feeling like his own. Sure you guys have kissed each other's cheeks and heads in comfort or luck before but this one felt different. A good different. Suddenly he wanted this race to already be over and he wasn't even to his car yet.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You bit your lip so hard to tasted blood as you watched the race on the screen. You could never bring yourself to watch the race in person since a terrible accident that almost hit you a few years back. Sebastian was kind enough to let you stay in his personal ready room for home races. He stocked it with your favorite foods and drinks and enough pillows and blankets to make any woman happy.
You were hugging a pillow, a blanket draped over your head and around your body. Discarded foodstuffs and drink cans littered the coffee table in front of you. You watched the large screen on the wall, the announcers calling for the last three laps. You cringed as another crash took out three cars. Thankfully Sebastian was ok but it was too close for your liking.
Two more laps.
One more.
"VETTEL!!!"
You stood, the blankets and pillows falling as you screamed in glee. "YES! YES! YES!"
You giggled to yourself as you danced around the room, your body moving and arms waving in celebration. He had been training for this for so long and he was so nervous. Thankfully, what you said didn't affect him too much, apparently. You danced to the music of people laughing and celebrating, a smile never leaving your lips.
You thought to join the people going to the post-race gathering but you weren't sure you wanted the first time you talked to him after what you said do be around a bunch of his fans. So you stayed put, falling onto the couch smiling and giggling to yourself about his winning as you burried your face in all the pillows and blankets.
~~~~~Just minutes before the end of the race~~~~~
Sebastian winced at the crash he just barely avoided. He couldn't help but think of you, sitting in his place, wrapped up in a cute little ball, probably biting your lip. He almost hit another car, bringing him back to the race. Shaking his head he pressed on, gaining on the first place racer.
But your words still echoed in his mind. You loved him. But you may be leaving for London. He sped passed another car, the finish line in his reach. With one more lap to go, Sebastian found your face filling his thoughts again. How happy you would be once he came back. Your smiling eyes and perfect lips. And then he imagined you leaving. His stomach dropped at the idea of you no longer being around.
A car passed him, making Sebastian grit his teeth. No, he is not going to lose. And no, he is not going to let you leave. Not without him doing all he could to convince you to stay. With a knowing smirk, he gunned it and passed the finish line, only giving himself a moment to take in his victory before he hopped out of his car and ran. He ran, smiling wildly as he ignored those around him calling him back, fans screaming his name. But all he could think of was the feel of you in his arms.
~~~~
You sat up when you heard the commentators on the TV say Sebastian was running. You watched as the cameramen followed your favorite racer as he ran through reporters, past groups of fans, and back to the garages.
That's where you were.
Just as he disappeared from camera shot he burst through the door, making you jump.
"Seb?"
He just smiled at you, breathing heavily as he just stood there.
"Stay," he murmured.
You stood, wrapping an arm around your middle. "What?"
Still smiling, Sebastian took a step forward and took your hand. His breathing leveled as he just gazed at your face. You let him gently pull you toward him, his forehead lightly resting against yours.
"Stay. Here. With me."
Tears pricked your eyes as your mind clicked. You reached up and stroked his cheek before closing your eyes, nodding against his head. You were about to reply but froze when you felt his warm lips press lighly to yours. You smiled into his kiss and returned it. He moved his arms to pull you closer, a hand around your waist, and another threaded through your hair as he kissed you more thoroughly.
Between kisses Seb, your sweet, wonderful, Seb, whispered promises of keeping you close, of making you happy, and loving you completely. He pulled back, only a fraction so the both of you could catch your breath. He kissed your nose then leaned in by your ear.
"And don't you ever drop news like that on me right before a race," he growled playfully, "you're lucky I love you too."
It was a little while longer before the German Ferarri driver went out to take questions and meet the press, but only with you at his side, your face alight with the excitement for your bright and wonderful future.
Heeeeello! I just want to thank everyone for reading, voting, and commenting! I love you all and can't wait to show you some more of my writing! Kisses!
