Peter Parker (Holland)
Satanic_oatmeal Alright! Here you are, dear, I hope you like it! He will be the first Avenger I have written for and I didn't hate doing it as much as I feared I would so...bring it on Avengers fans, I'll take your requests as they come hahaha
You rung your hands as you tried not to think about the ever-growing power that buzzed at your fingertips. Your knees bounced as your eyes looked around the very nice waiting room that belonged to Tony Stark. After a freak accident at school some guy named Happy came and picked you up from school saying he was a friend of your dad's from work.
But as soon as you got in the car he told you that you were being taken to see someone who could help you with your powers, your dad having already given the go-ahead seeing as how it was him who was reaching out for anyone to help you. Since your mom died leaving it just the two of you, your dad has been making it his main goal to find something or someone to help you control or get rid of your powers.
You had heard of Tony Stark before, seeing his face everywhere and knowing him as the Iron Man making it hard not to hear about him. But meeting him was completely different. The last thing you wanted right now was to talk to someone, especially after what had just happened at school just a couple hours earlier.
You were pulled out of your thoughts by a voice. Two voices to be exact. Looking around, you spotted a man walking, talking animatedly with his hands to a young man walking next to him, his eyes clearly full of awe and admiration. You shifted in your seat as they came closer, their faces turned away from you until they entered the waiting room. The boy gave you a shy smile and a small wave as he stood behind the taller man who you assumed was Tony Stark.
"Hi, I'm Tony Stark, but you must know that by now. Welcome to The New Avengers Facility, the NAF, if you will. Still need to find a better name for this place. Anyway. How are you? Comfortable? I can have some after-school snack brought to you, considering you must be drained after what you did."
You stood, shaking your head as your voice caught in your throat, not wanting him to get the wrong impression. But the famous inventor decided to skip over all that and move on.
"Or, you know what? How about I just leave you with Underoos here." He looked between you and the cute boy, nodding his head. "Have some high school midlife crisis time together while I try to get in contact with Wanda the Good Witch who also has freaky hand powers. Don't worry, you'll be in good hands."
Then he turned to go, leaving you alone with the boy.
"See ya, Mr. Stark! I'll just be here, with her," the boy waved, then lowered his hand, his voice doing the same, "with a girl I have never met before."
But he looked at you and took a step forward, smiling brightly, his hand outstretched for you to shake. "Hi! My name's Peter Man. I uh, Spider Parker..." He shook his head, clearing his throat as he ran his fingers through his hair. "Ahaha...sorry. I'm Peter Parker. I kind of an intern for Mr. Stark." He lifted a shoulder. "Kinda."
You nodded, biting back a smile at his slip up. But you didn't say anything, still nervous about why you were here in the first place, not entirely sure who Wanda the Good Witch was and if the cute boy in front of you really was Spider-Man.
Peter looked at his hand and the fact you didn't take it, your own hands tucked against your chest, your shoulders tense. Taking a step back, he pointed around the place, raising a brow. "You want me to show you around? It will take a while for him to reach Wonda."
He started walking and you followed close behind. "Wanda?" You asked quietly.
Peter looked at you, his eyes wide. You sounded a lot sweeter than your appearance lead on. "Yeah, Wanda Maximoff. She can control things with her mind and this weird red stuff with her fingers." He mimicked some kind of hand gestures that looked really similar to Senator Palpatine's lightning force. You giggled silently, his gaze returning to you. "She would be able to help you with what power you have."
He took you up some stairs, listing off all the Avengers and their powers or abilities, his voice growing louder as his words came out faster. But then he paused, after explaining how he joined them, his eyes flickering to you. You knew what he wanted to ask and was touched he hesitated so you went ahead and told him.
"I can make portals. Black holes too, very small ones. Sometimes I don't have control over which ones I'll be making."
Peter paused at the top of the second flight of stairs his eyes wide but not with fear as you thought they would be, but with awe. "No way! Like, you know, that game Portal on the PC, with GlaDos and 'the cake is a lie' thing?"
You shook your head, not fully understanding what he meant. Peter laughed waving the thought away as he guided you to what looked to be a workout room. "Never mind. So, if you don't mind me asking, what happened? At school I mean. I know Happy was sent to get you because he didn't take my calls but Mr. Stark said he was picking up a potential student so I figured something had to have happened for them to want to bring you in."
You shrugged your shoulders, slowly warming up to the talkative boy. "It's nothing to be proud of."
"Oh no, believe me, I've done some pretty uncool things too. Like, send the father of the girl I liked to super bad guy jail."
You looked at him with a confused but humorous look. Peter chuckled, shaking his head. "Long story. Anyway, you don't have to tell me if you don't want to. But..." he walked the two of you to a wall of weights, looking at your reflection on the wall mirror, "I thought you might like to see this place first. The Avengers aren't all hard-nosed training junkies."
You giggled at that. Peter smile grew bigger at seeing you loosen up a bit. He reached out and turned three dumbbells. Then the wall opened up revealing a whole recreation room including bowling, air hockey, foosball, shooting games and a few racecar ones. You slowly entered as Peter practically skipped inside, his arms opened wide.
"I found this place by accident. I come here every time I'm here. Or when I need to relax." He picked up a ping pong paddle, tossing it in the air and catching it behind his back before putting it back. "Take your pick!"
You hesitantly reached for a ball, tossing it between your hands, eyeing the basketball game next to you. You looked to Peter before turning and taking a shot, missing off the rim. Peter let out a playful shout, walking up next to you, taking a ball of his own.
"Here, try it this way." He took a shot and made it, his brows rising. "I uh, actually didn't think I was going to make it."
"It must be your Spidey senses," you blurted out before you could bite your tongue. He made it very easy for you to forget about your anxiety about your situation.
Peter snorted, nodding, not taking his eyes off of you as you took another shot. "Yeah, must be that."
For the next few hours, the two of you played all the games in the rec room, taking turns, teaming up, and sometimes going one-on-one. You laughed until you cried, your sides hurting, tears sliding down your smiling cheeks. At one point you and Peter fell onto one of the couches, flopping down together in a heap as your laughter died down.
You lifted your hands, looking at them as you turned them this way and that. "I haven't slipped up yet. I'm surprised. I would have made several portals and at least one black hole by now."
Peter reached up, taking one of your hands in his. Your middle erupted in butterflies as goosebumps littered your arms. He turned them so he could lace his fingers with yours.
"You should have seen me the first time I started working with the webs. My room looked like a spider through up all over it."
You giggled again, your hand still clasped with his as they dropped to lay between you. Looking up at the ceiling the two of you fell into a comfortable silence until you suddenly found yourself speaking.
"I was sleeping when it first happened. My dresser fell right through the portal and ended up in the kitchen. Once I started waking up in random parts of town, I knew I needed to get some help." You laughed humorlessly as you went on. "The first black whole I made devoured our washer and dryer. I was able to somehow make it go away before anything else was sucked in."
Peter turned his head to look at you just as you did the same, his face closer than you expected. You blushed as he cleared his throat, the two of you moving back a bit, but your hands still together.
"Here, I want to show you something."
He got up, taking you with him then the two of you ran to another room on the other side of the facility, your laughter filling the halls. Peter stopped at what looked to be some kind of training room, but for combat. Lot's of beams spanned the ceiling ranging in different sizes and distances. Standing in the middle of the room, Peter smiled at you before extending his arm up, a thin string of white shooting up to latch onto one of the beams.
"Watch this."
Then he proceeded to do various tricks and jumps, throwing himself up and swinging around. You smiled, laughed even, giving him a high five when he passed. But then you noticed one of the beams was becoming unscrewed, shaking with each pass Peter took. You were about to call out to him when it ripped off the wall, Peter yelling as he fell.
"PETER!" You reached out closing your eyes as you expected him to fall flat on the ground.
But instead, you heard a soft 'whoa', making you peek.
Peter stood completely fine next to you, his mouth agape as he stared at what you just did. The beam peter was using was now in two pieces on the ground but that wasn't what he was looking at. The web he had thrown to catch himself was attached to itself, strung through the two portals you had unintentionally created. Dark wisps danced around your fingers as you held your hands out. Suddenly fear filled your belly as you clenched your fists and closed your eyes, anything to make them stop. But Peter shouted, making you jump.
"WAIT! Stop, look!"
And you did, but you wish you hadn't. The portals turned into black holes, both of them, sucking in the string of web and the two beam pieces. Your arms shook and you felt sick to the stomach. Suddenly a soft hand was placed over yours, gently bringing your hands down.
"It's okay. You're okay." Peter's voice was gentle and soft as he stood close to you. "It's hard to hurt this place."
You lowered your hands and looked at Peter, the black holes now gone. Tears pricked your eyes as you shook your head, fear filling your mind again. But Peter gave you a small smile, a corner of his lips lifting as he leaned in.
"Just don't tell, Mr. Stark." He nodded to the room, it obviously looking like something happened to it.
"Don't tell me what? If it's something about you two dating already I don't want to hear it."
The two of you looked to the doorway where Tony and another woman stood. You subconsciously took a step closer to Peter, your hand finding his. He smirked as he took it, hiding it behind his back, giving your hand a reassuring squeeze.
"Ah, Peter? Your Aunt called, she wants you to pick up some eggs on the way home. I asked her how she was doing but it seems she was busy because she told me to tell you 'Please don't bring them half broken this time. Thanks'. So off you pop, Miss Sink-hole here has some training to do."
"Sure thing, Mr. Stark," Peter said though he was looking at you, clearly having seen your wince at Tony's nickname for you. He gave your hand one last squeeze before the bounded off, saying hi to the woman with long brown hair and a red leather jacket. But before he got far he skidded to a stop, turning back to you.
"Hey, I uh, didn't catch your name."
"That's because I didn't give it," you replied with a slight smirk.
"You mind telling me or do I need to give you a nickname? I'm not as good as Mr. Stark with nicknames but I'm sure I can think of something pretty badass."
You laughed lightly, shaking your head. "(L/n). (Y/n, L/n)."
Peter smiled, nodding. "(Y/n)." He liked the sound of it just as much as you liked hearing him say it. He waved to you before taking off again. "I hope to see you again (Y/n)! Bye Wanda, see ya Mr. Stark."
Once he was gone Tony came over, his elbow propped up on his arm as his fingers messed with the hair on his chin. "I swear he's the little energizer bunny on steroids. I hope he hasn't tired you out." He turned to you, his eyes calculating but kind. "Miss (L/n), meet Wanda Maximoff. She will be helping you with your magic hands." He wiggled his fingers as he walked backward away from you and Wonda. "I'll come check on you later. Don't blow up the place." Then he was gone.
You and Wanda turned to each other, smiling kindly. She looked you up and down, nodding.
"You have some power in you. Most of which I can help you with. I'm Wonda, as he said." She didn't reach her hand out in greeting to which you were thankful. "I hope to help you as best I can. With either your powers," she then nodded in the direction Peter had left, "or boys."
You relaxed, smiling as you nodded. "Thanks."
Wanda nodded with a soft smile, raising a hand, making red light dance around her fingers. "Welcome to the Avengers."
