You leaned against the back of a couch, looking down at your hands fiddling with each other. He stood off to the side, noticing your sad state. You didn't notice his presence. You sniffed, reaching up to wipe a lone tear. He cocked his head to the side like a puppy, sticking his hands in his pockets as he shuffled up to you.

You could feel his warm breath move some of your hair. Your eyes locked on his shirt right in front of you, so you instinctively reached up to grasp it, but his hands grabbed yours. You hiccuped as you slowly looked up at him as he gently rubbed your knuckles with his thumbs. 

He gives you a small smile as his eyes caught yours, your unshed tears distorting his figure. You look down and blink, your sight cleared so you look back up at him. His brows furrow as he whispers to you.

"I'm here."

You take a shaky breath then let out a sob as he pulled you to his chest, rubbing your back softly. You cling to him as he let you cry onto him. He held you closer and started to rock you back and forth slightly as you soaked in his warmth. His heartbeat felt reassuring against your shaking body. You soon hear his soft voice reach your ears as he hummed a calming song.
