Draco Malfoy

You rushed by the boy's dormitories, ignoring all cat-calls and whistles as you beelined it for the only brooding blond you ever had the insanity to befriend. Draco was sitting and reading something when you grabbed his shirt and pulled him off the couch, practically dragging him after you.

"Oi! What are you on about?" Draco exclaimed but you ignored him.

You sneered through clenched teeth as you pulled him out of the Slytherin common room and into a hall full of lockers. Draco yanked his shirt out of your grasp and stood tall, brushing off his clothes as if you had spat on him.

"Would you care to tell me what that was all about? I don't much care for being man-handled by a little girl in front of everyone. And the article I was reading was finally getting interesting."

You banged open one of the lockers revealing your Quidditch supplies and a few valuable personal belongings. You grabbed your Quidditch uniform and turned, tossing it at Draco's face.

"Can you shut your conceded mouth for one second and be helpful for once?"

Draco caught your robes blushing slightly at the smell of your perfume that wafted from them. Clearing his throat, he folded his arms, looking at you incredulously. "And what exactly are you assuming I will help you with?"

"Edger Tuffs."

You only need say his name for Draco to stand at attention, his frustration now redirected.

"Did he corner you again?"

You let yourself smile a bit at the sound of worry in his voice. You shook your head. "No. He decided that last week he wanted to skip out on tutoring and play quidditch instead. So I told him that next time that happens I'm going to show him I'm not only good at transfiguration and potions." You roughly stuffed what remaining things you needed, including and ubrella, into a bag before slamming the locker shut.

With your back turned, Draco smirked at your fire. He watched as you strode off, your high ponytail swinging by your exposed neck making him blush. He shook his head before taking a few quick steps to fall into line with you still holding your Quidditch robes.

"So you think beating him at a skirmish match will teach him a lesson? Isn't he a year older than you? You won't stand a chance, he's huge."

You scoffed, glancing at him. "How sweet of you to show concern for my pride and well-being. But at this point, I need this extra money on the side and I am tired of spending hours on the same stupid assignment," you grumbled under your breath, "plus, this will help me blow off steam."

Draco mimicked your scoff then mumbled under his breath. "I can think of other ways to help you blow off steam."

You raised a brow and looked at him. "What?"

Draco's face reddened. "Oh, uh, I was just wondering what all this has to do with me. I'm not tutoring him nor do you need a seeker for a skirmish."

You smiled and let out a little laugh. Turning a corner the two of you stepped out into the darkening night, making your way to a clearing used for three-on-three matches. "Sarah Panes and Everline Gray agreed to play with me. But I need someone to cheer me on. And who better than the most pretentious and self-centered boy in the school."

"Ha. Ha. Very funny. I'd rather clean all the brooms in the school then be your cheerleader."

You laughed. "Oh come on. You would look good in a mini skirt and waving a couple of pom poms."

Draco scowled, tossing your robes back at you. "Shut up." You tossed it back to him and he held it out in question. "But honestly. Why am I here?"

You stood by a tree lining the clearing, placing your bag by the roots. "I actually wasn't kidding. I need you to stand here and intimidate him and his boys." You shrugged as you started to pull your school uniform off to a tank top and shorts. "I thought having a Malfoy on the ground would help him shut up."

Draco blinked standing there holding your Quidditch robes as you started to strip. His face reddened and he tried to look away but he couldn't. "I-I can't believe you think you can use me like that."

You glared at him, snatching the robes out of his hand. "And yet here you are when you could walk back at any time." Thunder clapped above you both, making you jump and step closer to the young man beside you. "Oh, and that too. I need you to hold up a guard spell to keep the rain off. If you don't mind." You flashed him a bright smile as you finished putting your stuff on.

Draco rolled his eyes pulling out his wand. "I'm here so I might as well do something. Just don't get used to this. I don't take kindly to being bossed about."

You took your hair down and retied it, taking a step closer making you look up at him. "Mmm, pity. You are such a good listener."

Draco opened his mouth but the calls of Edger Tuffs and his goons filled the air. Draco took an instinctive step closer to you, bumping shoulders. You didn't mind though. As much as you may talk crap, Tuffs scared you a bit. Him and his two buddies were decked out and ready. You swallowed as you tucked a loose hair behind your ear.

You felt a hand reach down and give yours a squeeze before your friends came bounding over. You had to take a deep breath and blink as to not get lost in the feeling of his hand holding yours. Sarah handed you your broom and Everline glared at the boys.

"Too bad it's going to be a rainy one. But I don't mind the practice."

You shrugged and thumbed over to Draco. "That's why I brought him. He'll keep a guard up."

The girls nodded, not thinking anything of the Malfoy prince doing something for someone else. They just wanted to take down these bullies. You mounted your broom and was about to take off but you were stopped by a hand on your leg.

"Be careful. The Tuffs are known to play dirty."

You shrugged as you tried to ignore the butterflies that came to life at Draco's gentle touch. "Two can play at that game." You looked at him, truly looked at him. "Thank you,  Draco. I know there are better things-"

Draco rolled his eyes. "Just shut up and kick his arse." He patted your leg before taking a step back.

You smiled at him and went to go meet Sarah and Everline in the sky. Tuffs and his boys soon joined, cackling abut some crude joke.

Edger flew up to you, nudging your broom with his. "Oooh, would you look at that. (L/n) has got herself a boyfriend. Pity he acts like he as a stick up his-"

You sneered, pointing at him. "Oi! Tuffs! You're here to play, not pick a fight with a son from a prestigious family. Not like you would know what that word means."

From a signal from Tuffs, everyone got ready and into position, but not before he made a dramatic show of leaning over his broom close to you, his breath moving the small hairs around your face. He spoke loud enough for Draco to hear below. Draco tensed at the closeness, not comfortable with it at all.

"I thought you brought him here to get something out of him. Hmm, are you hoping for a victory kiss? I would think you could do better than him..." His eyes traveled to your lips.

You pushed him away, kicking his broom to create distance. "I'd rather clean all the rooms in the school then get close to you like that again. Let alone kiss you. My the best girl win." Then you moved into position, a new found motivation coursing through your veins.

Draco grinned at your response, a swell of pride filling him. Another clap of thunder shook the trees and Draco remembered his task. Effortlessly he picked up your umbrella and conjured a protection spell around the area having it emit from the top of the umbrella. He watched as you started off a game that made him anxious and yet extremely proud of our flying skills.

Draco cheered you on despite his displeasure of being labled a cheerleader. Suddenly he wanted to you win. Vary badly.

After what felt like hours you saw hope gleam as you held the quaffle, darting away from the boys. You were losing but all you needed was two more shots. But you were starting to get tired. Draco was right, Tuffs plays dirty and is much larger than you. But you didn't let that stop you from putting up a good fight.

You spotted Sarah and passed her the ball, pushing Tuffs off you as he lunged for it just a bit too late. You took the opportunity to sock him in the gut before zooming off. That ended up not being a good idea. Tuffs signaled for one of his guys to tackle Sarah but you weren't about to just watch your friend need to be sent to the infirmary.

So instead you took off after her, grabbing the front of her broom and pushing down, sending her away from danger but placing you in her stead. All you remembered was pain, a shout, then darkness.

Draco dropped the guard and ran for you as you fell to the ground. He winced once you hit the ground but thanked the stars that you weren't too high up like in normal games. Ignoring the rain falling into his eyes Draco reached you, kneeling down and taking you into his arms. You were still breathing, just knocked out.

Sarah and Everline came down, having grabbed your broom. Everline looked you over and shook her head.

"She'll wake up but feel like a truck hit her. Best we get inside and get her changed. You think you can manage the rest of the stuff?"

Draco nodded mutely, not liking how still you were. But he felt better after hearing you try to talk to the girls as the helped you up and walk to a locker building not too far away. Thankfully there wasn't much for him to gather and with the rain falling a lot harder the small locker/changing room building was a welcome shelter from the cold.

He heard your voice mingle with the other girls'. He let out a breath. Perhaps you may listen to him next time. After Draco started to dry himself down, Sarah and Everline stepped out of the woman's dress rooms.

Everline handed him your robes and pointed behind her. "She's just fixing her hair. We have a night class but be sure to get her to bed. Rest will help."

Again, Draco nodded still shocked at how normally they treated him. His thoughts were derailed once you stepped out of the room, all dressed and your hair slightly dripping.

"So what happened to Tuffs?"  Your voice was low and your eyes blinked at the harsh light from old electric lamps. A shiver racked your body.

Draco stepped forward, taking off his coat and draped it around your shoulders. "They ran off. Apparently, they are less than human enough to leave a woman in pain."

You smiled up at him. "Hey, you called me a woman. Took you long enough to notice I'm not a little girl."

Draco reached up and moved some hair from your brow. "Oh trust me, I have known for quite a while. I tend to go for insults before complements."

You giggled, pulling his coat around you tighter, loving his smell as it warmed you. "Typical Malfoy." You stepped to the edge of an open arch and took a seat on a dry spot, looking out to the rain. "Thank you for coming. I honestly felt better knowing you were here."

Your back was to him but Draco had a feeling you were blushing as much as he was. He joined you, leaning back on his hands. Sitting close the both of you watched the rain fall, breathing in the smell of clean earth. Draco glanced at you then back at the rain.

"Pity you lost."

You spun on him. "I didn't lose! It was undecided since they decided to do a hit and run."

Draco chuckled. "Oh, so you wanted to win?"

"Of course I did Draco. Anyone in their right mind knows to play to win. No point in doing something without gaining anything in return."

Draco turned to face you taking a step forward. "My thoughts exactly. Now don't smack me, I'm only giving your reward."

Before you could answer warm lips covered your cold ones. You stood in shock but soon relaxed, lightly kissing him back. But be pulled away all too soon for your liking. He looked you over, sensing your disappointment. He smiled.

"Perhaps it was worth coming," Draco cooed as he turned back to the rain, "I was in need of an adrenaline rush and a good pore cleansing. This rain will do the trick."

You rolled your eyes. "You are positively infuriating."

You sighed as you leaned on his side a bit, resting your head on his shoulder. Draco reached around and held you to him, relishing the feeling of you relaxing against him.

yeah yeah it's long but I liked it ;)
