Doctor Strange

-MichelleKirk- here you go! I hope this was what you were looking for!

You roundhouse kicked a robot almost a half a block away before turning around and grabbing the arms of the next robot that came at you and kicked it, pulling the arms right off that you then used to hit two other assailants.

Not too far away from you Stephen, Doctor Strange, fought his own barrage of evil circuitry. He looked almost happy, excited even. You smiled as he used his cape to strangle one bot as he punched another in the face. Ever since his first taste of being a hero, that thankfully humbled him, he has been more willing to risk his life to save others.

That's what brought the two of you so close. You were an ex-con of sorts. He came across you as you were fighting off a group of mercenaries trying to hurt a small company of travelers in Japan. You thought he was one of them and vise verse. But when it came down to the two of you, you thought it would be fun to see who was the better fighter.

You thought yourself stronger until he started using magic. That was when you started to hate him. Cheater. But for some reason, the two of you kept running into each other. Not like you were following him or anything. But once after a close call with a returning enemy, Stephen introduced you to his clan of protectors.

You weren't so good with the magic but he held out hope for you. So in the meantime, you stuck to your physical combat. And so far it was proving to be enough against an on slot of robotic punches.

Stephen looked over at you after tossing aside the head of his most recent opponent. He smirked as you executed moves he could only dream of doing. If it weren't for his cape and the magic he could use he would be utterly useless. Though you would tell him time and time again that he can be a doctor again if he really wanted to, Stephen felt like there was more to his purpose in life than being a doctor. And recently he has been seeing his future with a hope of you being there with him.

You felt his eyes on you so you looked over, catching your breath as others made their way to you both. "Do they ever stop coming?"

"Is that a complaint I hear? I didn't take you for the 'giving up' type."

You scoffed, picking up a piece of a fallen robot and slinging it at three others who thought they could sneak up on you. "Try the 'getting annoyed' type. I'm almost ready for a big boss to come and-AHHHHH!" You were cut off by a large cold hand wrapping around your middle and pulling you behind a building where a very large version of the robots you were fighting hid, it's beady black/red eyes almost smirking at you.

"Be careful what you wish for, human." It's echoey voice sent chills down your spine. You tried to pull free but it just squeezed you harder making you yelp in pain.

"(Y/N)!!!!!" Stephen reached out but knew it was a futile attempt to get you back. He watched as the large leader unfolded itself from behind a building, holding you firmly in its grasp. "Let her go!"

"No," came its short reply, not giving the doctor a second look.

Gritting his teeth Stephen raced forward, his cape billowing around him as he dodged buildings and a new set of upgraded, flying robots. As he fought his way to you, Stephen made sure to never lose sight of you. You punched and tried to kick your way free, but the monstrous bot held firm. And by the destruction it left in its wake, both of you were thankful this part of town was practically deserted.

You hit the robot's arm over and over, pulling at panels to get to the wires. But you had to stop when it squeezed you so tightly you were sure something broke. You let out a shout of pain, tears welling in your eyes.

"Humans. So fragile. So weak."

You scoffed then winced. "Just you wait. I'm not alone. AHHHH!" You finished with a scream as it squeezed you tighter. You were sure this was going to be it. You could feel your ribs collapsing and your hips practically cracking.

"ENOUGH!"

Stephen charged through, casting a spell on the robot's outstretched limb that was strangling you. You regulated your breathing and tried to keep your eyes open despite the pain. With every hit that severed the arm, you not only slowly felt the grasp loosen but your body losing consciousness. Stephen dodged the other arm as he worked on finishing the detachment. But due to being so enthralled with his task, the doctor almost let you fall to your death as you dropped from the almost destroyed arm, but a voice called out to him.

"Doc, I think you can stop now, your girl about to be road paint."

Stephen was about to search around for the voice but you caught his eye first, slowly slipping. Leaving his half finished work, he dashed after you. You tried to call out to him but you were lucky you could even keep breathing. You closed your eyes as you accepted your fate when you suddenly felt warm arms gently wrap around you, holding you close.

You instinctively leaned into Stephen as he landed the both of you on the ground softly. "Are you alright?" He whispered as he looked over you.

You cracked your eyes open and gave him a weak smile. "All things considered. But," you nodded to behind him as a shadow descended over the both of you, "I think you made him angry."

Stephen turned his head and took a sharp breath and cursed. The large robot was looming over you both, it's mechanical body drawing closer as its unbroken arm rose up, ready to strike. You closed your eyes and reached up ready to push your friend and savior away.

"Go. You are too tired to take me with you." You winced, watching the robotic arm fall almost in slow motion, closer to crushing you both. "I'm broken as it is."

Stephen shook his head, trying to regain his breath from fighting. He reached up and stroked your face. "I'm not going anywhere." Gently, he wrapped you closer in a vain attempt to shield you with his body.

You closed your eyes tighter as you held on to him, ready to sleep and rid yourself of your pain. But a shout startled the both of you, causing you to open your eyes and look up.

A red and gold metal figure flew through the sky, stopping the robot in its tracks. "Hey, lug head. Pick on someone a bit more," he finished severing off the broken arm with a beam of blue energy from his hand, "your type."

The gigantic bot turned his full attention to the small metal man now. Stephen looked back at you, his heart dropping at seeing you passed out in his arms. Just moments before you were staring up at him, thinking of all the unsaid things between you. You wished to make your feelings known. You had hoped to be more than a friend. You found it hard not to fall in love with a man who knew how to make you irritated, special, frustrated, and elated all at the same time.

A man in a purple suit armed with a bow and some arrows raced up to him with a woman with red hair and clad in black right behind him.

The archer knelt down to talk to the doctor as the woman stood guard, fighting off any robots that came too close. "Good job doc, but I think the  melodramatic cuddling is a bit much." He patted Stephen on the shoulder, helping him stand with you still in his arms.

Stephen looked around but kept his focus on you. "Who are you?"

"The name's Hawkeye. The redhead is Black Widow and the tinman goes by Iron Man. You're Doctor Strange, right."

Stephen nodded, looking back at the large robot. Iron Man was flying around its head, shooting at it sporadically expertly keeping its attention. "And I take it you have this under control?" But before he was answered, a large angry green man came out of nowhere and side checked the metal enemy.

Hawkeye nodded. "Yup. We know what we are doing." He ended his sentence with swiftly shooting down two approaching bots. "Mostly."

Black Widow turned and nodded to you in Stephen's arms. "Go get here seen to." Then the turned and kicked back a bot, sending it almost as far as you did. There were two other men fighting off robots right and left off in the distance.

Still a bit confused but glad for the help, Stephen took a breath and with the help of his cape, took off to the nearest Hospital. Thankfully you still had a pulse and was breathing. Hopefully he can get you there in time before you got worse.

You groaned as you opened your eyes, your body aching. You looked around recognizing the room of a hospital. You let out another groan as you laid your head back down and closed your eyes.

"Oh good. You're awake."

At the sound of his voice, you opened your eyes again. Stephen stood there with a small smile, his own scratches and cuts seen to. He came over to your side, taking your hand in his. "How are you feeling."

"Like I got run over by a truck." You spared him a small laugh and squeezed his hand. "How bad is it, doc?"

Stephen chuckled, but quickly sobered. "Three broken ribs, two bruised and you had some internal bleeding. But you will be fine. In time." He reached over and stroked your hair back.

You closed your eyes, suddenly tired. "Thank you. Sorry I got involved and captured. Though, what happened after I passed out?"

Stephen blinked. "I honestly don't really know myself. I believe the 'Avengers' came to help."

You furrowed your brow. "Eh, who?"

A voice at the door startled you both. "I should be offeneded but I am in a bit of a hurry." The man stepped through, extending his hand to Stephen. "Tony Stark. Love the facial hair by the way."

Tony turned to you. "Sorry we didn't come sooner. We were in a bit of a bind ourselves." He looked between you two, Stephen giving your hand a squeeze. "In fact, that's why I'm here."

You looked at Stephen and he shrugged then turned to Tony. "And what will that be exactly."

Tony sat on the edge of your bed, crossed his legs then folded his arms leaning against the foot guardrail. "Tell me; have you heard of an "Infinity Stone"?"

Dang...this one was a wee bit hard to write haha
