Keith sat at his door, shock overtaken him. Tears started to prick his eyes as he listened. "He can't be trusted!" Allura practically yelled from the dinning hall. "Allura! He might hear you." Shiro. It had broken Keith when he had figured out that Shiro no longer trusted him, disowning him. "Guys, I think we're look at this the wrong way. What if he's nice?" Hunk suggested, his kind heart showing through his words. "Hunk, think for a second will ya?" Lance said, irritation lacing his voice. Keith couldn't hear Pidge's response, sorrow overtaking him. His crush since Garrison, hating him. Keith only zoned back in when he heard Allura say something he didn't expect. "We'll let him stay, for now. But if he provokes us he's out."

Time Skip

Its been two days since the 'conversation' and every things been doing well. Keith learned quickly to say almost nothing, and when his is forced to agree with Allura. Hunk and Pidge sent one too many pitying looks towards him as he kept his head down and followed procedures. His training was constantly supervised which didn't allow much freedom for him.

Soon enough, the Galra started to get agitated. Whenever he was watching another paladin train a weapon was always pointed at him, during dinner, and while walking around the ship. Keith felt each and every paladin starting to get farther and farther. He now only found comfort when he was with Red, his lion. He had bonded with her after finding her when his parents died, he had woken up on her after being knocked out by an intruder. Well, he was told at least. Keith had forgotten his past when he was knocked out, he never remembered seeing his parents.

Cub, what is on your mind?

"Nothing, just thinking about the past." No matter what, the red paladin always replied to Red, even when others were around.

Let me tell you something. When the time is right you shall be reunited with your family.

This worried Keith. Was he going to die? When? How?

Do not worry my little cub, the time is not right and you will not die.

This confused Keith, but before he could ask he was escorted to the dinning hall by Shiro, were he found out something he did not expect.

"A mission?" Keith asked, wary of the princesses request. "Yes, we have decided that you should start doing little things to help bring down the Galras, are you in?" Allura smiled as the red paladin shook his head furiously. Even though he was Galra there were some aspects of him she had missed, such as his eagerness to go on a mission. "Great! Lance will show you were your going." Lance got up and escorted Keith away, to show him his task. The smile on Allura's face evaporated once Keith was out of the room. "Now, where is the village?"

Keith quickly got into a habit. Training for 4 days, then a mission, but today was an exception.

"Keith, you will be sent out to this planet and we expect you to get all the Galras off the planet tomorrow. Got it?" Allura sat next to Shiro who was pointing at a planet outside of the window. It was an icy planet, a cold aura coming off of it. The red paladin only nodded his head and went to his room to get ready. As he was packing he heard muttering from somewhere, his Galra senses picking up the conversation seconds later. "-rous!" Pidge said, worry lacing her now fragile voice. "Yes, it is but have you seen him! We have been sending him on harder and harder missions and he comes back with a scratch!" Lance protested. Keith's stomach started to twist as he listened but finally decided to stop and go to bed.

Time skip to the mission

Keith stared as the factory blew up in front of his very eyes. It had seemed to be a factory to develop and make weapons from to cold tundra resources. The roar of a lion pulled Keith's attention away as he whipped around to see red, being pulled away by Lance and Shiro. Keith started running towards them, ignoring Red's protests.

Cub! Get away! Stop! No! The ice! Its-

The last one was cut short as Keith plunged into the arctic water, the hole immediately closing back up. Switching on the communicator in his helmet, Keith was going to call for help but cut short at the conversation already happening.

"We can't let him drown!" Pidge was yelling, her voice cracking. "We have too! Remember what he is." Shiro said, grunting as the sounds of Red roaring made its way to the speaker as the duo took off. "Thats evil! Even if he is Galra we can still trust him, can't we?" The desperation in Hunk''s voice got Keith to smile. Someone actually cares, huh? I should probaby inturupt them now shouldn't I? "Ahem, guys its ok, just go and take down the others. Also, yall were right. I shouldn't be trusted." Keith calmly announced as fridged water filled the red paladin's lungs slowly, the yells and protests of Pidge and Hunk, along with Lance who had finally relized that it meant that Keith was giving up was drowned out by a soft sort of humming. As the paladin looked up he thought, for a split second, a figure of a person reaching out for him... "COME ON!"

I watched as my twin hacked at the ice, cracking it as my brother helped me put on my air tank. "Remember, the temperature will be unbearable down there so be careful, got it?" He said."Of course. I'll be back in a jiffy." I said as I jumped into the hole that was ready.

I gasped as the cold water surrounded me, its depths welcoming me. As I reached the halfway point the frozen body of Keith was in my reach. I quickly grabbed his arms and tugged him up, putting my breathing tank on his mouth instead. I hulled him onto land as my brothers rushed towards me, congratulating me while carefully picking him up to move him.

Before I followed as we started our treck back to the ship I spared one last glance at the ice, the ice that almost killed my brother, with pride.

I, Kaya Kogane, had just saved my brother.
