I Was Made For Lovin' You | Eddie Brock

Ever since Eddie heard you singing KISS, he knew he was done for.

Seeing you look over the balcony to gaze at the city, humming parts of the song while tapping your foot to the beat.

And oh, how blown away he was when you turned - startled - to look at him.

"Wow." Was what he rasped.

He admits, he was swept off his feet by a lovely woman.

And when you both got to talk about your love of music and passions?

He was sure he had died and gone to heaven.

Because you were everything he ever dreamed of.

It sounds silly. You both were in your twenties when you met, but boy did you two become attached to the hip.

Ever since that night, you both were like two peas in a pod. And wherever one went, the other would follow. Everyone knew this; the people who knew you both, and even the strangers that had no idea who you two were. People just knew you were close just by looking at you.

It was bizzare, really.

Eddie always held romantic feelings for you, but the moment he realized that he had fallen in love was when you decked a guy in the face to defend honor. When the guy called Eddie a "low trash bastard", bam! He was wheeling back with a broken nose.

Yeah, that was the moment he knew he had fallen hard.

Tonight, I wanna give it all to you

In the darkness

There's so much I wanna do

"Really, Eddie?" You ask, not looking up from your notes.

"What?" He raises a brow in amusement, fingers drumming to the beat on the steering wheel. "This song holds so much meaning to me."

"Liar," you snort, flipping through more of your notes. "You get a kick out of this song."

"One, I'm not lying. Two, this was the song that you sang when we first met." He glances at you with a smile, before looking back at the road. "And you were adorable."

You groan, head thumping back against the head rest of the seat. You stare at the roof of the car, saying, "Why must you bring this up all the time?" You turn to give him the stink eye. "And I was not adorable. Gosh, that was so embarrassing!"

Eddie snorts, eyes crinkling with a smile. "It was pretty impressive for a first impression, I must say."

You punch him in the arm, and he yelps with a laugh. "Eddie, I was singing. You and the boss watching me." You point both your index fingers at yourself. "I was mortified!"

Eddie laughs outright now, leaning to his left side to dodge your slaps on his arm. "Eddie, it's not funny!"

You can't help but laugh too, though. He always found joy in bringing up the encounter, especially when meeting new people.

"How did you two meet?" Strangers or important CEOs would ask.

"I met her when she was singing KISS."

The bewildered looks you would get from them.

"Anyway," you clear you throat, moving along to more important subjects. "I have a list of all the questions that need to be asked, and all the things need to be said." You blow a raspberry, flipping through your notepad. "Also, let's not get to brash this time, hmm?"

"That was one time."

"Over ACDC!"

"He gave them so much crap because their music was "unacceptable" and it's all because he listens to freaking classy classical music. Which," Eddie takes his right hand off the wheel, pointing up to prove a point. "I have no problem with! But there was no reason for him to bash on my music taste."

You shake your head with a fond sigh, "Oh, Eddie. What will I ever do with you?"

"Love and cherish me."

"You're insufferable."

When you and Eddie worked together, you two were powerhouses.

Eddie was probably the best reporter out there, but with you working at his side, you two were unstoppable.

You would give him just the right questions to ask, or give him the best statements to say. You'll even give him advice, and he'll take it readily and pow! He's on a roll.

You mostly work behind the scenes, but you honestly don't mind it all at because you very much prefer it that way.

The boss knew you two would work well together, so he paired the both of you up.

And that was how you met Eddie.

It was a celebration party, and you remember stepping out to the balcony to get fresh air and calm your nerves. You would get anxiety meeting new people, and when finding out you were gonna be partnered up with a reporter who you did not know at the time, made you really anxious.

And at that time, you were really into the band KISS, so you quietly sang to distract yourself from hurling over anyone or anything.

And you were quite mortified when you heard someone rasp behind you, only to see your boss and the reporter.

Being brought back to the present, the camera-man was up and ready to shoot as you all entered the building. It was only about five people; including you, Eddie, and the camera people.

The cameras were up and ready to start shooting before the main CEO of the company brought you all to his office.

Eddie - when doing interviews - always started out with small and simple questions before he made his way up to the big ones.

But this CEO was having none of it.

"Camera goes off now. You interviewed me, and now we're done." The CEO, Mr. Anderson, snaps his fingers at the camera to be shut off. "I have a meeting to get to, and you're wasting my time."

"But sir, we scheduled an interview for half an hour, and it's only been ten minutes." Eddie informs him politely.

The man scrowls at him. "You are wasting my time."

Eddie forces a smile, a smile that he shows only when he's getting irked. And you know that everything is going to go downhill from here on out.

"Eddie," you shake your head at him. "Eddie, lets just go."

"Yeah, listen to your assistant." Mr. Anderson pratically sneers at Eddie. "Listen to your little assistant and get out of my office."

"Excuse me?" Eddie places his hands on his hips.

"You heard me." Mr. Anderson suddenly smiles something wicked. "Listen to your little bi--"

The man doesn't get to finish his sentence when Eddie's fist collides to his face.

"Eddie!" You yell, grabbing him by his arms and prying him off the CEO.

There's shouting and yelling, and security come barging in, and it's all one giant mess.

And when heading outside toward the news van and car, you're practically lecturing Eddie.

"Are you serious right now? You can't do that, especially to the CEO of the company! You can go to jail!" You try and keep quiet so others don't hear, but it's hard when you're furious. "You can get in so much trouble for this!"

"He deserved it!" He hisses, cradling his right fist. He's pissed. "He is a selfish, ignorant, stupid bastard that called you a name, and I won't stand for it!" The words are flying out of his mouth and he doesn't stop. "And if I go to jail, and get fired, then oh well!"

"Don't say that!" You point a finger at him. "You will not go to jail you self-righteous piece of--"

You stop when three security men come up to you and Eddie.

Oh, great.

~~~~~
Luckily, no charges were made for the incident. The CEO was on the brink of making them, until he was arrested on the spot for conducting not only one, but several illegal underground drug organizations.
Talk about giant messes.
Eddie was left off the hook, and when the boss asked what happened, you took the fall for Eddie before he could admit is wrong doings.
And for that, you got fired.
Eddie was so livid.
"Are you kidding me, right now?" Eddie says as you open your apartment door.
"That's one way to greet your best friend." You blink up at him.
He huffs, closing his eyes to calm himself. "May I please come in?"
You step aside to let him walk in, and when he does you shut and lock the door.
"Before you even ask why I took the blame, let me tell you the reasons why." You begin to count on your fingers. "One, you would have been fired. Two, you being fired means you lose everything; your job, place, money." You count all five fingers and keep going. "Our job has been very understanding and supportive of what we do, heck, they even helped you get on your feet, Eddie! But they don't give us many chances, and if that means I take the blame, then fine."
Eddie shakes his head with his eyes closed. He pinches the bridge of his nose and sighs, "Why?"
"Because I care about you." You tell him. "And I want you to succeed. You're doing so well right now, and I'm proud of you for that. You're more important, you're the face of our buisness. I'm not."
"The only reason why I'm doing so well is beacause of you!" He points to you. "You've done so much for this company and for me, and the boss paired us up for a reason. You are as important as everyone else."
Your lips tilt in a gentle smile. "Thank you, but I can get another job. I have a friend who can help." You turn away from him and walk into your kitchen. "Now, I was gonna order pizza. You want to have a movie night?"
"Yeah!" He calls, rubbing his forehead as he turns to head for the living room.
The reason you got fired was because of something he did. And he wasn't just gonna sit around, and have you take the blame for it.
Nope, he was gonna get you your job back.
~~~~~

"Eddie!"

Eddie smiles as he opens the door, but he grunts when you practically body slam into him. "Whoa."

"Eddie, I can't believe you!" You squeeze him tightly before pulling away just slightly. "You got my job back? And you threaten our boss?"

Eddie chuckles, "I did, I did." Eddie waves you over to his couch. You follow him and sit beside him as he picks up his coke bottle. "I had to do what was right, so I went to the boss the day after we had our movie night, and told him what happened. And I may have threaten him."

"Eddie!"

He holds his hands up in surrender, one hand empty and the other with his soda bottle. "He took it well! He was understanding, but he of course did give me a warning for punching the CEO, and for threatening him. If I make another big mistake, I will be fired." He smiles when he sees your concern look. "Not to worry now, but honestly it was all worth it."

You're so over come with gratitude and happiness that you end up leaning forward and kissing him.

He makes a strangled noise, blindly setting his bottle down on the coffee table before you lurch away from him.

And you're mortified.

"Oh, Eddie. I am so sorr--"

Eddie leans forward to kiss you.

He cradles your jaw in his hands, humming when you both kiss. And kiss again, and again. Little smooches over and over that sends his lips tingling and his heart thumping.

ThumpThumpThump

When pulling away, he rasps, "Wow."

Your face colors, and you both giggle when realizing what you both just did.

"Listen," he clears his throat as he takes both your hands in his. "I have....liked you since the start. Ever since I heard you singing KISS." You giggle at that. "And I know that seems silly. But over time it's changed and developed into something more." He looks down at both your hands, intertwining them together. "I realized I fell quite hard when you punched that guy at the bar for calling me low trash bastard."

He's so nervous right now. He can feel the sweat gathering on his forehead and the back of his neck. And why is it so hot all of a sudden? He wants to dunk himself in a tank right now.

"I also have a confession too," you admit, which makes him look up at you. "I liked you when we talked about our favorite music and our passions, and I know that may sound dumb." You laugh nervously, and he smiles gently. "I knew I fell for you when I accidently walked in on you lip syncing to Thunderstruck in your t-shirt and boxers."

Eddie's laughs, his cheeks turning pink. "That was embarrassing."

"Now you know how I felt." You say, both of you laughing.

"Would you like to go out to dinner with me?" Eddie asks with a small smile. "You know, like a date?"

"I will be honored to." You tell him, smiling softly.

~~~~~
Some months later...
I was made for lovin' you baby
You were made for lovin' me
And I can't get enough of you, baby
Can you get enough of me
"Eddie! What are you doing?"
"Singing in my boxers, what does it look like?"
