Sky Flaherty ~ My Girl

"......I'm the king........of New York!"

The song ended with tumultuous applause. I stood there on the stage, breathless and beaming with my fellow cast mates. I had just completed my first show as Katherine, also my Broadway debut.

---

Curtain call came soon enough. When I came out and bowed, the cheers were thunderous. I smiled and waved to the audience when I straightened up again, now understanding what it was like to bask in the cheers and applause of the audience.

Dan came running in on cue, and the applause grew louder. He bowed, then motioned for the audience to sit down and for me to step forward.

"(Y/N) here made her Broadway debut tonight as Katherine." he declared. The crowd cheered again. "Didn't she do a good job?"

The crowd roared in response, and I waved to them again. "Thank you all! I just absolutely couldn't have done it without your support and the support of my fellow cast mates!"

I looked to the left and right of me, earning the most encouraging smiles from Dan and from my boyfriend, Sky.

"I'd talk more, but I'd be wasting your stagedoor time. So I'll talk to you guys outside!"

The curtain closed and the lights dimmed as the crowd filed out and waited at the doors of the theater. I dashed to my dressing room and quickly wiped off my makeup and changed into my every day clothes.

Sky walked in while I was finishing off wiping the makeup off of my face. He rested his chin on the top of my head and wrapped his arms around me.

"You did so well! I'm so proud of you!" he exclaimed.

I smiled at him through the mirror and threw away the wipe I was using. "Aww, thank you." I took my head out from under his chin and pressed a kiss to his cheek, standing up after I kissed him.

"Ready?" I asked him. He nodded and we walked out, my arm looped through his.

---

When I stepped out, we were greeted with more cheers. I beamed again, Sky immediately letting go of my arm so I could greet the Fansies.

I was first met with a charismatic group of girls, who each gave me hugs.

"Could you sign my Playbill?" one girl asked.

"Could I get a picture with you?" another added.

"I've got something to give you!" a third said.

I chuckled, holding my arms in front of me in a "Slow down." sort of way. I heard Sky quietly laugh while signing someone's Playbill and some other thing; I couldn't tell.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa. Slow down, girls!" I laughed. "One at a time." I turned to the first girl.

"Yes, of course I'll sign your Playbill! That's what they're for." I quickly signed it and turned to the next girl.

"I'd love to take a picture with you. It is debut, after all." I took a picture with her. "Tag me in it." I told her.

"Will do!" she cheerfully replied. "Thank you!"

I smiled in response and turned to the third girl. She already had the gift set out for me in her hands, which she handed to my gingerly, as if it was a precious artifact. It probably will be, considering how this is the first gift I've received from a fan.

"Aww, thank you!" I said, quickly unwrapping it. It was a beautiful picture frame with a vivid picture of me and a few of the Toursies cast in it. Such a beautiful piece.

"Oh my goodness, this is so pretty! Thank you so much!"

The girl's eyes twinkled. "I have my ways."

I laughed again and moved on. I carried on with the same routine: meet Fansies, sign their Playbills, take pictures with them, receive gifts from them. Good thing I wore a drawstring out here. It was quickly getting filled with beautiful gifts from the Fansies.

Finally, I reached about the millionth group of Fansies. They were all guys, big and muscular with handsome features. But, unfortunately for them, I didn't like any of them. Sky was perfect in every way. I wondered how I was going to break the news to them: Punch them after they tried to make a move on me? Haha, I liked that one. Call the guards on them? Probably not. Get Sky to come over and make them disgusted? Most definitely no. Worst comes to worst, I'd probably do a combo of all three.

"Hello, gentlemen!" I greeted with a smile. "Did you enjoy the show?"

"Course we did, sweetie." the--who I assumed to be--leader replied. "But maybe not as much as you."

I inwardly sighed, knowing that this would happen. "Would you like me to take a picture, or sign your Playbills?"

The leader grinned. "Maybe. But not just yet. How about a--"

"Okay, then. If you don't have anything for me, I'll be moving on." I interrupted him, about to move on to the next few Fansies.

"How about a kiss?" he declared openly. His goons snickered.

"Excuse me?"

"You heard me."

"How about...NO."

"Aww, come on baby, don't be like that." he tried again.

"Don't you 'baby' me. I'm not even your girlfriend!" I told him, exasperated.

"But I'd like you to be."

Sky then came up behind me and kissed me long enough to make it uncomfortable for the guy and his friends.

When he pulled away, he kept an arm around me and aimed a glare at the group. "I'm sorry, but she's my girl."

The group of guys walked off, and I let a small smile grow on my face, as Sky kissed me again.
