(Wing Chun Reader X Ty Lee)

(Note: The idea about this is that both are opposite on their style of fighting, Wing Chun is a more straight forward and less of a flashy martial art compared to Hung Ga and Shaolin Kung Fu while Ty Lee uses more long an acrobatic approach and gets pretty flashy with her moves. I hope you will enjoy this story)

A man was working in his restaurant which was the best in their town and had a great reputation. He was putting the plates into the shelves after another successful day, he then heard the door open to see Princess Azula accompanied two girls: Mai and Ty Lee. The man came in bowing to Azula curious of the situation.

Man: "May I help you your highness?"

Azula: "Cut the formalities, traitor"

Father: "Traitor? I-I don't know what you mean"

Azula: "We know you helped the Avatar and his accomplices, so we are going to take you in"

Man: "...Fine, I did help the Avatar. I am sick of this war that has been going in for one hundred years, the Avatar is the solution and the fire nation is the problem"

Azula: "Come quietly or you'll be taken by force"

The man took out his jian (a chinese sword) pointing it at Azula, she responded with blasting him though the wall with fire. He recovered only to see Ty Lee, then ran up dodging a sword slice and chi blocking the man.

Ty Lee: "For a veteran of the Fire Nation army you are pretty easy to fight"

Azula: "Let's take him now before anyone finds us"

Before they can do anything Ty Lee was kicked away out of nowhere by a sixteen year old boy.

???: "Stay away from my father!"

The boy turned to see Mai throw knives at the boy only for him to smack them away, Mai with a deadpanned face just put away her knives.

Mai: "There's nothing I can do"

Azula: "What do you mean?!"

Mai: "Didn't you just see what he did Azula?"

Azula: "...Good point"

The boy then heard Ty Lee coming trying to chi block him so he used the back of his hand to misdirect the attack kick her back to her original spot, he got into a stance bringing his hands in front of him. Ty Lee ran towards him and did a double front flip and tried to land behind him only for him to push kick her before she landed, Ty Lee got up surprised by what just happened. She ran up and tried to chi block him only for the boy to constantly smack away the attacks with his palms, impatiently the boy then blocked with his elbow injuring Ty Lee's finger. Ty Lee winced as she rubbed her finger, the boy then looked at Azula.

???: "Why do you want my father taken prisoner?!"

Azula: "He betrayed the fire nation by aiding the Avatar, therefore he will be arrested"

???: "He wouldn't! You're a liar and a-"

Man: "Y/n"

The boy Y/n turned to look at his father.

Man: "I'll be okay, please take care of yourself when I am gone, okay?"

The son held his father's hand and nodded, Y/n watched as his father was taken away by two fire nation guards. As Azula and the others walked away Ty Lee looked back seeing the boy hopelessly go back to the restaurant, Ty Lee felt sympathy for Y/n as she left with Azula.

Y/n and some other workers were cleaning the restaurant, things were harder now that Y/n's father was gone. After everyone left Y/n locked the doors and walked back to his home, he entered his home leaving his things in a box before going to his room. Inside was a bed, shelves and a Wing Chun wooden man.

Y/n always practiced on it before he went to bed and today was no different, he practiced on the training equipment hearing the sound of impact echoing throughout the room.

Y/n then sighed as he was about to go to bed...until he saw something from outside whooping from his window, Y/n took a set of butterfly swords and went out. He saw a figure in the shadows, he pointed his swords at the figure.

Y/n: "I know you're there! Come out!"

The figure was hesitant but reluctantly came out, it was Ty Lee. She looked down in embarrassment while Y/n looked at her with an angry look.

Ty Lee: "Hey...Y/n was it?"

Y/n: "What are you doing here?"

Ty Lee: "I wanted to say I'm sorry"

Y/n: "For what? Taking my father into a prison? Taking away the only family member that I have?"

Ty Lee: "I never agreed to take your father, if I would've known then I would've tried to prevent your father's arrest"

Y/n: "Well you didn't, you did nothing. No apology is going to bring my father back, I never want to see you again"

Y/n went back into the house slamming the door, he took off his shirt and laid down on his bed.

Y/n was serving food to the customers at this time like he always does, he served the plates in front of the hungry people at the tables with a smile. Even when his father was gone it was a always a joy to get praise for his work, they had a reputation of always having great service even if the restaurant wasn't the most extravagant. As we was going to go and get more he then heard the door open, it was the same loan sharks that has been harassing him and his father.

Shark 1: "Where's Li?!"

The crowd muttered to themselves, typically Li would just give them the money. Y/n however didn't agree with that and now he had the chance to get them to back off.

Y/n: "He isn't here! Leave this building!"

The loan sharks laughed.

Shark 1: "You're quite a fiery little bastard aren't ya?"

Y/n: "I said leave!"

Shark 1: "You're gonna have to-"

Y/n kicked him in the stomach and used the arch of his hand to strike his throat, he then pushed him out through the door.

Shark 2: "Get that bastard!"

The last two sharks went after Y/n striking at him only for Y/n to dodge and parry them all, he then struck his fist into a shark's solar plexus and kicked the other in the groin. Y/n pulled the two out for the guards to pick up, he sat on the bench and sighed tired from the torment.

Y/n: "I can't handle this anymore"

???: "You don't have to"

Y/n looked up to see Ty Lee hanging upside down on a tree, he turned his head away from her.

Y/n: "What do you want?"

Ty Lee: "I want to help you"

Y/n: "I can handle myself"

Ty Lee: "You said you can't handle all this anymore didn't you?"

Y/n was about to disregard that fact but sighed in defeat knowing he can't.

Y/n: "All I want is my father back and you can't help me with that"

Ty Lee: "I know but it won't be forever, I want to help around the place until your father gets back"

Y/n: "...Why help a son of a traitor? Besides I'm just some "fire nation peasant"

Ty Lee: "To Azula's eyes maybe, but you're not. You like everyone else is a working citizen of the fire nation..."

Ty Lee then got off from the tree and sat next to Y/n.

Ty Lee: "...and I'm no different"

Y/n wanted to retaliate in venom but he wasn't able to, a daughter to a noble, a friend to the princess of the fire nation herself was willing to work with him.

Y/n: "...Come here at noon, you can help me out serving"

Ty Lee: "Glad I can help"

Ty Lee didn't end up as good help...she ended up as GREAT help, for months she was serving people left and right with ease always greeting them with a smile. She helped out the customers and the employees making work easier in the restaurant which helped them earn more money. Y/n locked the door of the building with Ty Lee behind him.

Y/n: "So Ty Lee...you gonna go back home?..."

Ty Lee: "Actually...I don't have a home"

Y/n stopped, he looked at her.

Y/n: "What do you mean you don't have a home?"

Ty Lee: "I...I ran away"

Y/n: "...we can talk about this back at my home"

Y/n invited Ty Lee onto the couch, he poured her tea which Ty Lee gladly accepted.

Y/n: "Why'd you run away?"

Ty Lee: "...When I was born I wasn't the only child, I was a sibling to 6 other identical sisters. I always had to compete with all my sisters and it got so bad that we each had to pick our own hobby, I ran away years later because...I was scared of being a matched set"

Y/n listened sipping a bit of his tea.

Ty Lee: "I ran away to the circus and I was happier than I ever was compared to when I was back home, then Azula arrived and "convinced" me to help her on her mission to find Zuko and the Avatar...but I regret joining her side finding out what kind of deeds we're doing"

Y/n stayed silent, he set his china on the table. He took a breath then looked at Ty Lee.

Y/n: "I thought being a daughter of a nobleman would give you such high luxuries, but now I know that's not the case. I've always wanted to try and help my father get the best life possible by trying to earn money"

Ty Lee: "You don't have to, the greatest luxury you can have is to have a place you can call home and have people around that you can call family. Your father always had that luxury, and that luxury was you"

Y/n: "...Never in my life would I have thought that..."

Y/n then started to feel regret for the past actions he did.

Y/n: "I never should have been so harsh, I wanted you to feel the venom that I've built up after all that's happened but-"

Ty Lee kissed Y/n's cheek causing him to tense up, his face became red causing Ty Lee to giggle.

Ty Lee: "You're so straight forward, it's cute"

Ty Lee laid her head against his shoulder.

Ty Lee: "I promise we'll get your father back"

Y/n: "Thanks Ty Lee"

Y/n wrapped his arm around her as she snuggled up to him.

Ty Lee: "Luv you <3"

Y/n: "Love you too"
