Thorny part 2 two-shot by Summer Cheng @SummerCheng37
Blake entered the kitchen where she ate some food that tasted delicious. She saw the cooks work with a wood stove. So, that is how they cooked the food. She saw a few candles flickering above her.
After the meal, she stepped into the hallway and saw roses most likely from the outdoor garden. She looked closer at the candle holders each was in a cat shape. She felt right at home other than her mother not being her. She walked to the end of it and saw the library that she had entered at first and smiled. There were loads of books on about any topic someone desired to read, the small fireplace lit with a cozy fire a set of chairs in the shape of cats, and a sofa with a cat carved into the back. There were two foot stools, cat-shaped as well. The place seemed full of candles, roses, and cat furniture everywhere.
She recalled the room she had changed in earlier was black and purple. With cat carvings on the walls, and she loved it. Would it be her room for the night? She hoped so. It would be easier to sleep there because it reminded her of her room at home other than the locked jewelry box that did not appear to have a key.
The mysterious creature stood outside the room staring at her. He saw that she was beautiful and watched her look around the room. He saw her pick up a book and sit on one of the chairs to read it. He was amazed. She liked to read. He took notice of the weapons she had with her. He wondered why she insisted on the bow-tied up like that. It would be far better if she let it lose. He was sure that was hiding something. What could it be? Where had she come from? Why did wish she would stay long enough for him to get to know her? He sighed. He had not felt hope like this in years. She was one of the few visitors he had seen since he found himself in this condition. He smiled.
Sun slowly entered the room and sat on the sofa. The young cat girl did not fletch. She did not seem to realize he was even there. She was an interesting one. She removed the flats. He did not blame her since she had on boots when she first arrived here. He realized that her feet were fuzzy like a cat. His jaw dropped in surprise. He had no idea.
Blake looked up when she finished reading the book. She saw someone staring at her. She laughed. "What is so funny?" He asked. "Well, did have your mouth hanging open without a morsel of food to fill it," She said. "Who are you?" She asked. "I am the owner of this fine establishment," He said. "Well, I must say that the furniture and roses are rather nice. I do not know what to make of the lighting." She replied. "The lighting, what of it?" Sun asked in confusion.
"Why is there no electricity?" She wanted to know. "Electricity, the castle is old and had none from the beginning. I did not think to have it installed. Besides, no one would come out to do any work here other than the servants due to my condition," Sun blurted out. "Condition, are you ill? You look rather healthy to me," Blake responded.
Sun smiled. He had no why she caused him to do so. He had not smiled for ten years. "I am not ill. I am well, I am a beast as you may notice. It is not my normal form and the castle and the occupants all have well, they are not themselves either." He explained. Blake gasped. "But you do not look scary at all to me." She said.
Blake loosened her bow and her ears came loose. She felt more comfortable this way. Sun looked at her in surprise. "Why are you staring at me like that, sir?" She asked. "The name is Sun." He said. "Sun, what is it?" "Your ears, they are cat-like," He stated. "Yes, I should hope so for I am a Fanus." She said. "Wow, that is great," He said. "It is?" "Yes, because I am Fanus too, or was before I turned into this beast thing," Sun said.
She blushed. She had not seen anyone as cute as him in years. He saw her blush and smirked. It pleased him. He hugged her. Blake was taken aback by the gesture of affection but hugged him.
"What is your name, Blake Bellana," She said. "Nice name, Blake." He smirked.
The servants saw and smiled. Could she be the one? The one sent to help them all. They hoped so, but if not at least she was nice.
Blake pulled away and stood up. "I would like to chat more tomorrow, but I could rest. May I go to my quarters now, Master Sun?" She inquired. "Yes, you may. You need not ask again as you are a guest here." He waved to her. She waved as she left. She found her room without any help. It was probably the cat part of her that helped. She had a keen sense of smell. Once in the room, she smiled. She prepared for bed. Soon she was asleep under the covers in the black and purple bedroom. She did not notice when someone came and placed something beside her. Nor did she when the same someone put something in her hand.
"Rest well, Blake Bellona," He whispered. He kissed her left cheek. Then, he went to his room. He sighed. She had been her a full day yet and he liked her.
Time skip!
Eight months later...
Blake had been at the castle longer than she thought she would be. She had seen her mother thanks to some old-fashioned style mirror. A kind neighbor helped her mother much to her relief.
She had become friends with Sun. The two had grown quite fond of each other. The more time they spent together the stronger their bond became.
Blake wore a purple dress with black stripes, and the ribbon around it that was tied together was black. She wore her black boots this time. She hated the ballet slippers. Those felt strange to her. She went to the kitchen and ate her food.
She wore a bracelet that had a cat on it. She had no idea where it came from because she did not recall seeing it before. She ate breakfast and Sun arrived to eat some as well.
"I see you like the gift I left for you."
"Gift?" Blake asked. "Yes, the bracelet, I hope you like it."
"Thank you, it is pretty," Blake said. "You are pretty," Sun responded.
Sun kissed her and Blake knew then what she had not before, she loved him.
The end...
