The Visitor part 2 two-shot story by Summer Cheng (@SummerCheng37)

    Description

This part picks up where the previous part left off, so if it does not make sense to you, I suggest you back and read the first part.

Adrien's  POV:

"Marinette, Do not you walk away from me."

Marinette and I ignored him. He was rude.

"I asked you a question. I want an answer now, why do you look at him differently than you do me?  Why?  Do you love this blonde motorcycle freak?"

I heard him demand something from her. Why was he always so demanding?

"Luka, I refuse to answer you when you are like this." Marinette spewed out.

I held her hand surprised she did not jerk away.

"You are my girlfriend, and this boy comes in out and nowhere and you act like he means the world to you. Why is that I wonder? "

Marinette refuses to tell Luka that she has been talking to Adrien the whole time they have been together. Not that it matters anyway. She starts to doubt she made the right choice years ago.  Why did she let him talk her into ignoring Adrien?  She made him leave. She never wanted him to but he did.

Well, now he was back she had no intention to make the same mistake again.

"I do not know what you mean."

"Denial is best served cold,"  Luka remarked.

I could tell he was furious.

Marinette and I walked on further. I gave her a helmet. I smiled as she put it on.

I put on mine. As we rode away from Luka, I felt a bit guilty. Only a little since the guy was obviously off his rocker.  I do not quite recall it being as he sees it.

A few miles down the road, I shut off the motorcycle. "Is it true?"

   "Is what true?"

"True that you and him have dated for the last three years?"

"Yes, but it was arranged by my parents and his. He means nothing to me."

     "What?  He is your boyfriend."

"Hardly. He takes me on dates sure, but he always yells at the waiters and anyone else who speaks to me. He is a control freak. He never lets me do anything I want or go anywhere I wish to go."

I listen to her talk. I like to hear her voice. I sigh. Perhaps, it was a mistake coming here. It only brought up memories. Memories that were hard to cope with properly.

"Marinette, perhaps, we better go back."

   "Why?"

She was not making this any easier for me.

   I sighed.

I lift her chin and see her eyes close. So it is true, she does have feelings for me.

I shake my head. She can't.

I pull away.

"Adrien?"

"Yes, Mari?"

"Did I do something wrong?"

"No, why did you ask?"

"You pulled away from me just like before and I always thought you were going to kiss me."

"Marinette, look I can't go around kissing someone else's girl even if it kills me."

Marinette felt confused and gave me a puzzled look.

"I never kissed Luka. He always kissed me, but I could never bring myself to kiss him back, not when I am in love with someone else."

"Marinette, do not do this to him. To me."

"I told you,  I do not love him. Then, tell him that Mari."

Luka snarls at them. He followed them and heard the whole thing.

"So, since you do not love me. Who do you love then? The motorcycle freak."

"First, he is not a freak, Luka.  If anyone is that is you."

"Second, we only got together because your parents insisted we did. I never once wanted to go out with you. You are an awful boyfriend."

"You do not mean it. You just say those awful things because he showed up."

"No, I say them because I do mean it."

I stood by unsure how to respond. I felt confused. Hurt even.

"Besides, who I love is none of your business!"

"Wrong answer, Marinette."

I watched as he yanked her hair.

"Let her go!"

I kick him in the shin. I was angry. Angry at him for hurting her. Angry at myself for loving her, and angry at her parents for ruining everything for us.

I kicked him harder. He let go of her.

"If you want her so much, then go ahead and take her, Agreste!"  Luka spat out as he let go of her hair and knocked her down.

"I will be watching you. Always watching!"

Luka walks away. I could tell he was serious.

Marinette walks over to me with her eyes filled with tears.  Man, I hate to see her cry.

"Adrien, you helped me. Why? No one has ever stood up to him before, and I mean no one."

"I can not let him hurt the only woman I ever..."

"The only woman you ever what?"

I sighed. I looked away from her.

"The only woman I ever loved. No, the only woman I still love."

Marinette wept.  "Adrien, please do not go away again, not like this."

"Marinette, I want to be him. I  don't want  to be your rebound boy."

"I love you too much to do that to you."

"Please, Adrien, I beg you. Do not leave me. I love you!"

I turned around at her voice pleading with me to stay.

I couldn't do it again.

 "What did you say?"

"I love you!  Luka was right, I always loved you and only you."

I pulled her close and held her in my arms afraid to let her go.

I  saw her lip quiver. I lifted her chin.  I saw her eyes close.

This time I did not pull away. I leaned in and kissed her.

At first, she did not respond, but after a while, she kissed me back slowly but sweetly.

   "Adrien, I love you!"

"Marinette, I love you, too!"

"Finally!"

I look up to see a girl, a brunette headed our way.

"Who are you?"

"Alya Cesarie and I suppose you must be the boy, Adrien, my bestie has told me all about here."

"Yes, that is me."

"Cool, well then, do not let me ruin the two loved birds' fun."

Alya walks away with a smirk.

She knew it all along. There was no way, Marinette was meant to be with Luka.

The end...
