Fire Hazard *Nalu part 1 two-shot by Summer Cheng (@SummerCheng37)

Description:  Natsu takes on a new job as fire chief.  Will his new role be a help or a hindrance?

   Natsu's POV:

I start my job today. I can hardly wait. As part of my new position, I must inspect every house to see if it is up to code.  I will go to Lucy's first.

"Lucy?" I say as I knock on her front door.

Strange, no answer. I almost left, but I smelled something off.

I  pull the door open and enter the kitchen.

"Ugh, her stove is on, and the food is boiling over. What a mess!"

"Hey, Luce, are you aware your home is a fire hazard?"

I  wink at her as she glares at me.  I can see I got her attention.

"Who are you to judge the way I live?"

"Your stove was left on unattended.  It is extremely dangerous to leave it that way."

I hand her a warning since I am such a sweet, sensitive guy. Well, maybe, it is because of my crush on her.  I do not dare tell her the truth about why I did not write her up right away.  It is far too embarrassing.

I leave to go inspect Gray's house next.  Knowing, my buddy, his house is a wreck.

Much to my amazement, Gray's house is clean for a change. Odd, since when did he become such a neat freak?

       "Gray, what happened man?"

       "What do you mean, Natsu?"

"Since when did your house get to be so nice?  Usually, it is a pig sty."

"I resent that statement, but I will overlook it as we are best friends, man."

Gray,  points over to where Juvia stands with a glass of lemonade in one hand and a broom in the other.  It figures,  I should have known he had gone and hired himself the new maid to help out around the place. No wonder, it looked so great.

        "Juvia, you are doing well."

Juvia did not look up from what she was doing. She only nodded her head, set down the glass on the counter, and swept up.

         "What brings you here?"

"I came as part of fire prevention month, but  I see your place is anything but a troublesome spot."

I laughed as I ran out the door.  Good thing, I could outrun Gray as he seemed steamed at the moment.
