Driving Me Batty Part 2 by Summer Cheng @SummerCheng37
Marinette's POV:
It has been two days since he last spoke to me. Well, maybe he has moved on to another girl. I sure hope so anyway. I smiled when I saw Adrien in the hallway, he was headed my way.
"Hi, Marinette!"
"Hi, Adrien!" I managed to say without stuttering for a change.
"How is my girlfriend?" he asked. "Great!" I said. He kissed me, and I kissed him.
"Hi, Marinette!" A voice said from behind us. I hoped he would have gotten the hint by now. Good grief, what does it take to get the son of Batman to leave me alone?
I pulled away from Adrien and turned around. "Look, Mr. Tracy, I am no longer single. I am Adrien's girlfriend, so take a hint and go away!" I shouted. "Hey, there is no need to shout. I can hear you, loud and clear," He said with a smirk. I rolled my eyes.
Dick Tracy tried to put the moves on me. How dare he! Adrien was furious, he punched him! "Hey, she said, get lost! Leave already," Adrien shouted at him. "Oh, yeah! Why should I?" "I will give you three reasons: 1, because the lady said so, 2, because I am telling you to back off from my girlfriend, and 3, because if you don't, you will be dead meat," Adrien remarked.
With that, the creepy pest ran off! He entered the science lab where he messed up some other girl's project and was sent to the principal's office. I could help, but feel partially responsible for his misery. Yet, I cannot help it if I don't return his feelings.
Time skip!
After school, Adrien and I went out for pizza. To my relief, there was no sign of the bat boy anywhere. It sure was nice to have some time alone with my boyfriend. When we finished, I helped Adrien pay for the meal. I felt it would be unfair to expect him to pay every time.
I smiled at him as he walked me home. Too bad, I did not know, two important things: 1. someone was watching us, and 2. that in six months my world would come crashing in on me.
Once home, I kissed him. "See you later, babe," He said. "Yeah, later, babe," I said.
Time skip!
Six months later, Adrien and I have been together for six months now. I rarely don't see him.
I was excited cause today was the day. I sensed it. Adrien was going to ask me to marry him.
I dressed up, wore some fancy perfume, and put on the earrings he had given me two weeks ago. I arrived at the restaurant early. I did not understand why he wanted me to meet him there instead of picking me up.
I saw the table had some lovely flowers as a centerpiece. It was one of those upscale places.
I waited and waited. Need I say more? Adrien never showed up. How could he stand me up like this and on our sixth month anniversary of my saying yes to being his girlfriend?
I was humiliated. I ran home with tears in my eyes. Okay, I exaggerated. I started to walk home. I heard someone brush past in their car. It was Adrien and he was not alone. I knew then what I did not before. All this time he was using me. I wept more.
"Come on get inside," I heard a voice say. I looked up to see him. "What for? So you can tell me you told me so?" I said. Sticking my tongue out at him.
"No, so you don't get mugged, or raped. I mean I could not let a sweet, sensitive, pretty girl like you get hurt just because Adrien Agreste is a loser," He spat out.
I was shocked. All along, I had pushed this Tracy fellow away and it turns out he was right, Adrien is no good for me. I got in the car. I did not say a word as he drove me home.
"Thanks for taking me home," I said. I kissed his cheek. He blushed.
I watched him drive away and sighed. Why had I turned away the right guy? Why had I dated the wrong one?
The next day, I ignored Adrien when he tried to explain. "Tuff, I don't want to hear it Adrien. I have had enough of your lies. You stood me up last night, and to be with that slut, Chole Bougerious of all people!" I shouted at him. "Marinette, it is not what you think, I had a modeling job that ran longer than it was supposed too, and I had to take Chole home afterwards. That is all," he said. I rolled my eyes at him. "To bad, I don't believe you. I am never going to back to you!" I yelled at him.
I took off the earrings and threw them at him. I went to class. I sat in my usual seat. I did not pay any attention to Adrien and Chole making out in the back of the class room. Okay, so I noticed them, but so did Mr. Tracy. He came and sat beside me. "Hi, Marinette!" He flashed me a cute grin. Wait what. I blushed.
It seems I found myself a new crush. Oh, boy, here we go again.
Time skip!
After school, I let him walk me home, by him, I mean Dick Tracy. I was not about to let Adrien. Besides, by the looks of it, he had other plans. Plus, I was right, he had already dumped me and he had made it even more clear when he kissed that Lila girl. Ugh. What did he ever see in her?"
I arrived home safely. No thanks to Adrien.
I entered the house, and the new boy came inside too. We went into the kitchen and I worked on homework. Believe me it was a challenge to do with that cutie beside me. I unblocked his number. I blocked Adrien's number, and Chole's just to be sure she would text me either. I also unfriended Adrien on facebook, and Instagram. It was for the best.
I was so glad that I had someone new to keep me company. I was quite over my ex-boyfriend yet, but somehow, I felt the bat boy would help. I knew in time I could learn to like him. Maybe, in some small way, I already did. I was not about to tell him though.
The end...
