Description:

   Alix discovers she likes Kim. The trouble is that she believes he is with someone else. She does not wish to get in the way.  Will she ever tell him her true feelings or keep them to herself and risk losing him forever?

 Alix's POV:

   I exit the house to speak with Kim. I desire nothing more than to tell him something important. 

   I arrive at his place, but I see him with another girl. Who is she?  I watch as he holds her hand. I sigh. I know that I can't tell him. Not now. How can I?  He cares for her.  Why else is he with her?

     I leave before he can see me. I feel tears run down my face. I have loved my best friend for years. All my life I have loved him. Now, I fear I shall be able to speak or look at him the same way again.

      I run home. I did not hear him call out after me. I probably would not have answered if I had.

      I arrive home crestfallen. "Kim," I whispered his name as if that would change anything. Yet, I knew that it was hopeless now. I might as well act like I don't know him. It would be hard, but I had to. It was too hard knowing he was with that other girl. I had a feeling she was his girlfriend. I could not blame him either, she was so much prettier than me. 

     I sob. "She is the girl I wish I were, but I am not her. She has Kim. What do I have? Nothing, but a broken heart." I say to myself.  It is clear where  I stand with him. I will never be more than a best friend to him.

    Back with Kim and the other girl, Odine...

   "Kim, is it true?" Odine asks.  "Is what true?" Kim asks. "That you don't date because of your feelings for Alix?"  "Alix, she is my best friend," Kim answers. "So, you are avoiding the question again, I see," Odine teases him and grabs his hand. 

    "Odine, my relationship with Alix is complicated," Kim confesses. "Complicated in what way?" Odine wants to know. "I have been her best friend since grade school. I have grown fond of her over the years. I fear it will ruin our friendship if I tell her."  Kim explains.

    "Awe, Kim you have a crush, how sweet," Odine gushes. When she spoke with him, she did not notice the girl with the pink hair that ran off.  "Yeah, a crush," Kim sighs. He sees Alix and his face lights up, but then she runs off. He calls her name, "Alix!"  He sees her run past like a blur. He sighs. Why did not she stop?
