Banished Love Two-shot part 1 by Summer Cheng@SummerCheng37

Author's Note:

This story is inspired by Disney's Beauty and the Beast, and the Beastly storyline that came out years later by the same company.

@MelissaHilsenrath145 story, Cursed Love- Miraculous was another inspiration for this short story.

This is the story of Banished Love.

Once in the village of Miraculous there lived this lad named Adrien Agreste.

He lived with his mother, Emilie, his father Gabriel, his brother, Felix, and the servants Nathalie Sancour, and the Gorilla.  His home was a mansion.

He tried to be kind to others but found it difficult at times.

His brother Felix had all the girls fawning over him when they came for lavish parties once a month. Adrien was shy around them and felt like an outcast amongst those who knew him best.

Marinette Dupain-Cheng lived with her mother, Sabine, her father, Tom, and her sister, Bridgette. Unlike the Agreste family, there were no servants. Her family was the town's bakers, living in a small apartment above the local bakery. She had never attended many parties since her parents could not afford new shoes for her or her sister.

Marinette wished to have a pet cat but knew it was impossible because Bridgette was highly allergic to them.

Now, it was rare for girls to learn anything other than the trade passed down to them by their parents. However, Marinette and Bridgette knew how to read and write. They also helped their folks in the bakery and could sew.

Marinette was busy mending -socks while her older sister Bridgette woke up. Bridgette was expected to find a man, and Marinette was in no hurry. She wanted to love someone before she found herself attached to them for life.

  Time skip!

Two nights later, the Agreste were having one of their usual parties. As usual, the Dupain-Chengs were not invented.

Marinette's grandmother was visiting from out of town. She marched over to the Argeste mansion to demand her granddaughters be allowed to attend the party with the others.

Gabriel Agreste shook his head. So did the others. Felix frowned. Adrien laughed at her.

The elderly woman was furious. She waved her arms about and the mansion turned dark, along with all its furnishings, the people changed too.

The mansion was overgrown with thorns, and briars, and it began to snow outside. All the pretty statues turned into ugly figures.

She left without saying a word to anyone else about what she had done.

        Time skip!

Four years later, everyone had forgotten about the secluded mansion and the good times that once happened there.

   At the bakery...

Marinette and Bridgette's parents left town to visit with their uncle and while they were away, she and Bridgette were in charge, of the bakery. Marinette was taking some crescents- out of the oven when she heard a low growl noise. She turned around and almost dropped them. She was shocked at the sight before her eyes. It was a beast-like animal with bright green eyes, dark fur, and a beard.

"Miss, could I have something to eat please?" He asked.

He knew he should have stayed home since there was a fully stocked kitchen but he had always wanted to try some of the bakery's goods. He had heard they were good and could smell them baking.

Marinette prepared a bag of crescents and added a few cookies as well.  "Here, you go, sir."

The beast thanked her, paid, and left before she could see the tears fall from his eyes. He felt sad he had not been kind to her in the past.  He knew it was his fault- what had become of his family, his servants, home, and himself.

"Marinette, what was that noise?" Bridgette asked as she climbed down the stairs. "It was a wild animal, but I chased it away," Marinette said. She could not tell her the truth because her sister might think she was crazy.

Bridgette shook her head. She was not so sure. She was sure that she heard something creepy earlier. She helped Marinette with the orders for the day.

Back at the forgotten Agreste Mansion...

Felix smelled something good. What was it? He entered the kitchen and frowned.

The cook had not even started breakfast yet.   "Hi, brother, here," Adrien said handing Felix one of the crescents. "Where did you get these?" Felix growled.

"Shh, the bakery," He replied. Felix shook his head, he could not believe his brother would go to the poor folks for food.
