What A Lovely Night [Logince]

Okay, fair warning I have never listened to La La Land so I don't know the actual context of this song, BUT Thomas Sanders and Ben J. Pierce did cover and I'm qUAKING with the prompt I just came up with.

So enjoy my like five readers who comment and vote, bless your souls (don't get offended it's a joke of my lack of readers. I love all of you, even if you just read it.)

I also wasn't going to use the last name "Sanders" for all of them, but then I realized that people can have the same last name without being related. It happened to me once so that's a fun fact to use.

The day had become evening. And from a wonderful evening, into a beautiful dusk. The setting sun was sitting right above the water. The sky was clear and cloudless, a few stars were visible now along with the faint outline of the moon. The sky was painted light blue and pink, with hints of purple and dashes of yellow, the colours blending beautifully together - it was as beautiful as one of Bob Ross' paintings.

The lonesome, Logan Sanders was walking the pier by himself, looking out to the sea and the sky. His hair being pushed back by the slight breeze that passed by him - the breeze also slightly taking his tie along. Logan was wearing his normal tie, a black shirt with a grey blazer (he grabbed the first thing he could find), and a pair of jeans. He had told the others that he was going on a walk to clear his mind, as Roman was not home to argue with him per norm. The said walk turned into a drive to the park, which turned into a drive to the beach, which lead him towards the pier. He didn't mind, the longer he stayed out, the more at peace he felt within himself.

The setting sun was now only a quarter visible, making the sky a darker shade of blue and taking away the splashes of colour that was wonderfully painted in the sky. The stars were more visible now, Logan noted, looking up and seeing the shining moon surrounded by the companions of light. The dusk was now turning to night.

Logan sighed and watched as a flock of birds flew above him, only their outlines visible with the lack of light. His head followed their path until they flew over him in the opposite direction of the sea. When the birds were out of sight he turned back towards the sea. He chuckled and thought of what it would like to be able to fly like a bird, if scientifically possible. He decided it would be terrific as he would always be surrounded by the beautiful scenery and sights around him.

Logan was lost deep in thought of what it would be like to be a bird when he heard a familiar attention-seeking-cough. He turned around to be faced with the dashing male himself, Prince Roman Sanders. And before you ask, no, they are not related (bless the lord, as Logan says every time someone asks). The royalty, as he called himself, was standing behind Logan, bearing his charming smile that made Logan feel comforted for once, instead of annoyed. He was wearing his usual attire of a white shirt with a design of a thick, diagonal, red stripe with a red castle emblem he thought looked cool, his usual jeans, and a red hoodie (that was a gift from Virgil one Christmas. He said there was a sale and he thought Roman would've liked it).

"I didn't know you left the house, Logan." Roman said and took a step towards the more logical one.

"Well, Roman, I just wanted to take a step outside and admire the beautiful evening while it lasted." Logan explained and fixed his wind blown hair and tie.

"No need to adjust your appearance. You look still fabulous windblown or not, my dear Logan." Roman flashed him a smile.

"Well, I thank you for the compliment but, I would still like to look decent if life going to be around." Logan reasoned and adjusted his glasses.

"Care to join me on my way?" Roman held his arm out for Logan, who stood still considering if going with Roman was a good idea. "Come on, I won't bite tonight." Roman teased, and Logan hesitantly took a step forward.

"What's the catch?" Logan asked, searching the prince's actions for any sign of a motive.

"No catch, darling. It's a lovely night and I would like for you to join me, that's all I ask of you." Roman answered, still offering his arm.

"Alright, I will join you then." Logan held onto Roman's arm and they were off.

Some people would wrongly assume that the two were dating, but it hasn't happened yet as neither of them could drop their pride to ask the other. So instead of actually saying anything, they just have a silent agreement of, 'we both know we have affection towards each other so we will show said affection when alone'. Patton is confused by their unspoken agreement, Virgil teases them about it, and Thomas tried to encourage both of them to break the silent truce.

"Don't you think it's beautiful tonight, Logan? Almost as beautiful as you, I would say." Roman said suavely, and smirked as he saw Logan faintly blush in the moonlight.

"This night was most definitely exquisite. Though I do have to say, as the sun is nearly gone and the lights turn on, I-"

"A silver shine that stretches to the sea~" Roman sang. Logan looked at him half confused and half annoyed that he got cut off of his sentence. "La La Land reference?" Logan just raised an eyebrow. "Ah, forget it." Roman waved it off and Logan continued.

"I do quiet enjoy being with you on such occasions like this." Logan said and gestures towards the night sky littered with stars and at the sea that was glistening from the moonlight.

"We've stumbled across this delightful sight, that seems tailored for two." Roman said and smiled at Logan.

"Agreed, but what a shame that those two are you and me." Logan remarked and gave Roman a sly smile as he gasped. "Some other lovely couple would love this shining sight, but there's only you and I. And we've got,"

"No shot." Roman finished Logan's sentence. "So you do know what I was referencing!" Roman exclaimed and stopped the two from walking any further. Logan nodded and continued.

"This could never be, you're not the type for me. And there's not a spark in sight... what a waste of a lovely night." Logan sang and laughed as Roman gave a fake offended gasp. He started walking away, leaving Roman behind.

"You say there's nothing here, well let's make something clear: I think I'll be the one to make that call!" Roman sung back and ran to catch up to Logan.

"Well, what's your call?" Logan asked, adjusting his glasses like he always does.

"Though you look so cute, in your tie and your suit-"

"It's just a blazer." Logan interrupted.

"You're right. I'd never fall for you at all." Roman grazed his fingers over Logan's cheek before continuing down the pier. "And maybe this," Roman gestured to Logan's attire. "Appeals, to someone not in heels. Or to any guy that feels, there's some chance for romance..." Roman danced around Logan as he sang and they walked down the empty space.

"Though I'm frankly feeling nothing." Logan chimed in.

"Is that so?" Roman questioned, not knowing if he was teasing or not.

"Or it could be less than nothing." Logan sang the line his time, to reassure Princey that they were still playing around.

"Good to know," Roman nodded and sang back. "So you agree."

"That's right." Logan nodded back, grabbing Roman by the waste and spinning him around to pull him close, their faces inches apart.

"What a waste of a lovely night." They both said at the same time. Roman leaned in to close the gap but Logan backed away and started riffing as he continued to walk.

"What a tease..." Roman muttered and ran after Logan. He caught up to the man in glasses and grabbed his hand and twirled him a few times before dipping him down.

"What a romantic." Logan rolled his eyes playfully.

"It's in the name, sweetheart." Roman said and brought Logan back to his feet.

"You are very romantically corny tonight, Roman." Logan observed, as he and Roman danced around the wooden pier. Roman just laughed and lead him and Logan's dance. After a few minutes of them randomly dancing and riffing their own music, Roman ran off towards the lamp posts. He jumped onto the base of one and spun around it, pointing towards Logan who was walking to catch up. "Classic theatre/movie move." He said with a grin.

"I still don't understand theatre." Logan said and shook his head at Roman. Logan hopped onto the base of the lamp and pressed a small kiss on Roman's cheek before stepping off and heading towards a nearby dock.

Roman blinked. Shock overpowering him as he had never had Logan express such affection towards him before. "Hey, you can't get away from that!" Roman yelled and ran to catch back up to Logan as he had covered a far distance during his shock.

Roman caught up to Logan and grabbed his hand and said, "But I'm frankly feeling nothing..."

Logan raised an eyebrow and replied, "Is that so?" To which Roman nodded with a knowing look in his eyes.

"Or it could be less than nothing." Roman suggested, following Logan to the end of the dock.

"Good to know. So you agree." Logan sang and pulled Roman close to him by wrapping his arms around the other's waist, and rested his head against Roman's chest. Roman followed suit and wrapped his arms around Logan, resting his cheek on Logan's head. Both of them were looking out towards the sea.

"What a waste of a lovely night." They both harmonized before standing in silence in each other's arms at the end of the dock. The moon illuminating them perfectly while they brought their gaze up at the shinning stars in the sky.

"Do you think we should head back home?" The creative one asked, hoping the answer would be no but someone had to ask.

"... I think we could possibly stay here like this for a few more minutes or so." Logan suggested, not wanting to leave either, despite this going against all his schedules and health safety rules.

"Or so would be nice." Roman said and they both laughed.

And so they stayed in that spot for a little longer, enjoying the other's warmth and presence. Little did they know, Patton and Virgil went out to look for them as it was early in the morning and they hadn't returned yet. Patton had to restrained himself from squealing as Virgil had taken a perfect photo of the two, capturing the couple, the moonlight, the glistening sea, and the bright stars. They would see the photo later. But now, the one with higher morality and the one with heightened anxiety would leave the logical one and the fanciful one to their bonding on this lovely night.
