Don't Speak About It [Analogical]

I saw this text post and it made me smile so I was like, why not write it

Today wasn't Virgil's day. He woke up feeling more terrible than what he considered normal. Patton, who was usually there to cheer anyone up in the house, had went out with Thomas to do some errands with Roman (which he thanked the Lord that Roman wasn't there to bother him). Logan had decided to stay in his room and work all day.

Virgil had tried to take a walk through a nearby forest, which resulted in him getting partially lost until he found the trail again. Then he tried to listen to music, but was faced with disappointment as his phone was dead. He didn't want to get up and get a book to read or his computer from his room, so he just laid on the couch for a few hours, getting more and more irritated as the hours went by. As it neared night, and Thomas, Patton, and Roman came back home, Virgil had had enough. (Yes I checked google and "had had" is proper)

Roman was bragging about some "chivalrous" actions he had made in the public, while Logan was rolling his eyes, not even bothering to look up at Roman from his work on the computer (Logan had come down for dinner as Thomas *cough*patton*cough* wanted everyone to be together).

"Virgil," Logan started as he sat down on the couch, beside Virgil. "You seem tense. May I ask why?" Logan questioned, still not looking away from his laptop.

Virgil hesitated. He didn't know why, though, as he knew he could trust Logan with any sort of information he wanted to talk about. Instead of telling the logical one that he was feeling a bit out of it today, he responded with the classic, "... I'm fine, Logan."

"Are you sure?" Logan asked, fully aware that Virgil was not in a good mood. He could tell by the lack of headphones (which were presumably in his room), the way he was sitting (more slouched and tense than usual), and the way he responded to his question (sounding more depressed than what they would call normal and with more hesitation).

"Yes, I'm sure." Virgil lied and put his hood up. Logan nodded, knowing he wouldn't get anything out of the other and decided to stop pushing. Instead, he kept working, hands moving swiftly over the keyboard.

Having Logan typing his work out beside Virgil made him go into a calm state. The sound of the keys clicking was very soothing. Virgil's mind went into a state of peace and he slowly began to relax his tensed body. For about 5 minutes, it was peaceful for Virgil, until Thomas announced he was going to bed and headed upstairs.

Virgil was brought back into reality and was met with Patton beaming at him and Roman giving him a smirk. What Virgil hadn't realized, is that in his state of peace, he had subconsciously sunk into Logan's side to get closer to the sound. Logan had an eyebrow raised, but deduced it was the cause of Virgil's sudden calm state and continued to type, despite the contact and attention of the others he wanted to avoid.

"Well, it looks like Mr. Smarty Pants and Mr. Gloomy Skies are having a little moment here." Roman announced with a small chuckle. "Patton, care to join me for a Disney marathon?" The prince asked the dad-friend of the group.

"Sure, Roman!" Patton agreed happily. "You two don't go to bed so late!" Patton told Logan and Virgil before walking with Roman up the stairs.

"Yes, Morality." Logan sighed.

"We shall start with the badass movie, Mulan!" Roman exclaimed.

Virgil shuffled away from Logan just a tiny bit. He was embarrassed from being caught in such a uncharacteristic act and wanted to do nothing else but hide under a blanket. His heart desired to lie with Logan and listen to the sound of keys tapping, but his mind thought of many others reasons why he shouldn't to the point of thinking his fear was making Thomas feel a bit anxious by now.

"So, I'm presuming that you wish to go to your room and hide from embarrassment?" Logan asked, slowly standing up and looking at Virgil for the first time today.

"Um... yeah..." Virgil slowly agreed, getting up as well and shoving his hands in his pockets.

"Well," Logan adjusted his glasses and looked at the time. "I wish you a goodnight, and will see you in the morning." Logan said and walked up the stairs to his room. Virgil looked down, his purple coloured hair covering his eyes as he walked up the stairs.

"Of course you couldn't stay aware and realize what you were doing, stupid Virgil." He muttered to himself. Being the anxious one of the group, Virgil was quick to deprecate himself if he feels that he messed up.

He felt like everyone was judging him and thought that it was embarrassing. Which was not the case at all. Patton thought that it was improvement for Virgil to show fondness to someone else. Roman thought it was simply adorable and wished he had his phone on him at the time. Logan actually didn't mind the warmth and comfort of Virgil. Usually he would have pulled away, but the softness of Virgil's hoodie combined with the feeling of Virgil slowly becoming less tense made him make an acception.

Obviously, Virgil didn't know any of this and wouldn't believe it if you told him. He just thought he made a fool of himself in front of all of his friends. As he walked into his room, Virgil was consumed by his self-deprecating thoughts as he lied on his bed, not even bothering to change into some sort of night wear.

Virgil tried to get some sleep that night. He tossed and turned every time he would fall asleep (which only lasted about 5 minutes) causing him to wake up. He tried playing some music since it was now available to him, but that didn't work to his surprise. When the clock struck 1am, he knew that it was hopeless to try to sleep by himself. If he knew Roman and Patton well enough, he assumed that they fell asleep cuddling while a Disney movie was playing. And if he knew Logan well, he knew he'd still be awake working, despite him telling Thomas that he shouldn't be awake past 12am.

Virgil got out of bed and walked towards his door with only one plan in mind. He walked quietly down the hallway and opened the door to Logan's room. Logan didn't bother to look up, as since there was no sudden outburst or excitement, it must have been Virgil. None of them spoke a word as Virgil closed the door behind him and crawled into Logan's bed, cuddling into his side.

"I assume you couldn't sleep and wanted to hear the sound of me typing again?" Logan asked, taking a break from writing to look down at Virgil and play with his hair.

"Yeah... and to just be with you. You help me sleep." Virgil muttered and nuzzled his head into Logan's side. He instantly felt better just being with Logan, wanting nothing more than to just lie down with him. Neither of them were really touchy-feely like Roman and Patton, so cuddling and hugging were perfect for them.

"That is... nice of you." Logan smiled, trying to be nice and kept and arm around Virgil as he proceeded to type again.

Virgil regulated his breathing and focused on the soothing sound of the keys tapping and the consistency of Logan's breathing. This was Virgil's safe spot. Being with Logan and his calming space. Virgil watched Logan as he worked, he studied how his face was so alert even at this time of night, how his eyes were still filled with determination to get whatever he was working on done, how his stupid necktie went well with his glasses, and how his purple hair slightly fell over his glasses.

"You do know pictures last longer than staring, correct?" Logan asked out of the blue, startling Virgil with the sudden sarcasm. Virgil blushed and looked away while Logan smiled softly. "You look like you need rest, Virgil. You should go to sleep. It's not like I'm going anywhere right now." Logan said and started to play with Virgil's hair again, loving how soft it felt under his touch. Virgil emitted some sort of purring sound and Logan stopped. "Did... did you just purr?"

"I do that when people play with my hair... it's a reaction I don't control." Virgil explained and rested his head on Logan's chest.

"Interesting. Now go to sleep, I will continue typing and playing with your hair if that's what you desire." Logan offered, wait for a reply.

"Yeah... please do. Just... don't speak about it." Virgil said and Logan nodded.

"If that's what you wish for, you will receive, dearest." Logan said and resumed his previous actions. Now Virgil was at a full state of peace and tranquility. Logan playing with his hair, the sound of his soothing swift typing, and the pattern of Logan's breathing slowly brought Virgil closer to sleep. In a few minutes, he was softly snoring. Logan smiled, knowing that Virgil needed this today, and was happy that he was the one to provide comfort and sleep to the poor man.

Logan never stopped his work until he finished the essays and knew for sure that Virgil was asleep (which was 3am). Once Logan was finished, he saved his work and closed his laptop, carefully placing it on the nightstand behind Virgil and plugging it in. He placed his glasses on the table as well and adjusted his and Virgil's position, so that they were facing each other on their sides to make it easier for him to hold Virgil. Virgil snuggled closer to Logan's warmth while Logan played with his hair. Before falling asleep, Logan kissed the top of Virgil's head and closed his eyes.

Speaking of going to bed. It's like four minutes till two am so that's always fun. Anyways, hope you enjoyed that and good night I guess.
