"Do you work at Starbucks? Because I like you a Latte!"

Lance said through the com link towards (y/n). Shiro glared and clenched his fists as he heard the most adorable laugh ring through his helmet. (y/n)'s laugh.

It was by far Shiro's favorite sound, but hearing it in response to something Lance said made him angry, very angry.

"Lance, we are supposed to be focusing on working as a team, not flirting with (y/n)! Get back to work!" He hissed.

Shiro immediately regretted his harsh words but he couldn't bring himself to take them back. He hated it when Lance said such flirtatious things to (y/n), he hated that he could make her smile more than he could, he hated the way a slight blush would appear on (y/n)'s face everytime Lance shot one of his infamous pickup lines her way.

He wanted to be the one that made her laugh. He wanted to be the one that made that adorable blush spread across her cheeks.

He loved her, he loved everything about her. Her sparkling (e/c) eyes and the way they made his heart soar, the shape of her lips, and how much he wanted to mold his lips against them. Her laugh that made his heart skip a beat. Her smile and the way that it made him want to sing. her tiny hands, and how much he wanted to fold them in his and never let go.

~~Timeskip to after a very dangerous encounter with the Galra~~

Allura had sent the paladins out on a quick mission to inspect a nearby planet when Pidge reported that she had spotted evidence of the Glara when they heard Keith scream that he was under fire. Then Hunk said the same thing. then Pidge and then Shiro. After what seemed like hours of nothing but gunfire and screaming filling the castle everything stopped. The communications link was severed and the most terrifying thought rang through (y/n)'s head, making her heart clench. Shiro was dead. Immediately she pushed that thought out of her head and ran to the control panel, only to find that the link was severed from their end, there was nothing she could do. (y/n) took a step back.Tears filled her eyes, blurring her vision as sobs escaped her mouth. Coran and Allura wrapped their arms around her, trying to comfort their terrified friend.

It felt like years before they all heard the bay doors open, signalling the paladins were home. (y/n) was sprinting towards the bay area as soon as the sound reached her ears.

"Shiro!" (y/n) cried out as she spotted the black paladin exiting his lion. she threw herself into his arms, holding him as tight as she possibly could, crying softly "I was so worried about you. I thought you were dead!" She pulled back to look Shiro in the eyes, only to be met with the most confused expression. "I...i thought you'd be more worried about Lance then me.." Shiro admitted.

"Why wouldn't I worry about you?? I love you!" (y/n) exclaimed, angry that he couldn't see how much she cared about him.

"You...you love me?" Shiro smiled and blushed, rubbing the back of his head sheepishly. (Y/n) only smiled and slammed her mouth on his, kissing him with as much love as she could muster. When they parted Shiro was smiling and holding her close "I love you too" he whispered before pulling her into a slow and passionate kiss...
