I know it's only month between the end of the first Mulan movie and the beginning of the second. But I've made it longer to make it more realistic. I mean, who gets engaged after a month of dating? Hope you enjoy the story.

Lian's POV

"But father, they deserve to find love. Like Shang and I did" I argue. Let me catch you up on the last six months. Shang and I have been courting for the past six months. Two and half months ago my house arrest ended. Shang took me to my favourite restaurant and asked me to marry him. I said yes and we are now engaged to be married this Spring.

I got word from Mulan the other day of her engagement to Honghui. I've hardly heard from Mulan since she helped save China. I saw Honghui occasionally, he's grown some facial hair and is now a captain. Where as Shang was promoted to general three months ago.

Anyway Mongol forces are moving closer to our border. The threat of attack growing every day. Our army is hopelessly out numbered. Even with the new female recruits that started training five months ago.

So instead of going to war with Mongol. Father has decided to forge a union so strong, that Mongol will never dare attack us. An alliance with Qui Gong through marriage. He is making my three sisters, marry the three princes of Qui Gong. An arranged marriage. Which I don't approve of. My sister's already gave their solemn oaths to marry the princes. But I am still against it.

"It's whats best for our kingdom Lian" father tells me. "Your sisters understand this. And will do their duty to the kingdom" he states.

"But father, the oldest prince of Qui Gong are a year younger then Su" I say trying to make him see reason.

"It is decided, that's my final word on the matter" he tells me firmly. "Besides, I'll be sending them with our best warriors" he adds.

"Wait Shang is going?" I ask him shocked.

"Yes, he went to get Captain Chen Honghui and Fa Mulan" he tells me.

"Then I'm going too" I tell him stubbornly. "It's my sisters and fiance. I'm not letting them go on a dangerous mission alone" I state.

"Very well, but remember your sisters know their duty" he tells me. Chi fu appears. "What is it Chi Fu?" he asks him.

"The general is here with Captain Honghui and Fa Mulan" he states.

"Good, go inform my other daughters to pack" father tells him. Chi Fu bows and leaves the room. Father and I go to the throne room. I run over to Shang and kiss him. Before hugging Mulan and shaking Honghui's hand. Before standing beside my father.

"What's the situation Emperor?" Honghui asks my father.

"As we stand here, Mongol forces are moving closer to our border. The threat of attack is growing every day. As it is, our army's hopelessly outnumbered" father explains.

"I suggested that I lead mine and Honghui forces in a pre-emptive strike" Shang adds.

"Each of my warriors will fight like ten Mongols" Honghui states.

"No, General and captain. I plan to defeat this enemy without the use of force. Instead, we will forge a union so strong, the Mongol hordes won't dare attack. An alliance with the kingdom of Qui Gong. We will become united through marriage. You will escort three princesses to Qui Gong. There, they will marry Lord Chin's sons, and seal this critical alliance" father explains.

"Yes, your majesty" they say. Though I notice Mulan looks troubled. No doubt the same reason I am against this union.

"My advisors tell me the charts are clear. If this wedding does not take place in three days, the alliance will crumble and the Mongols will destroy us. Mark my words General. Captain. Three days" father tells them.

"Not a moment more your majesty" they assure him. Father looks at Mulan.

"I know that face, Fa Mulan. My daughter has had it since I told her of the union. What troubles you?" father asks her. She looks at me then to my father.

"Your Majesty, an arranged marriage?" Mulan asks him.

"My daughter had the same concerns" he tells her. "But rest assured, child.  My three other daughters know exactly what they're doing" he assures her.

"Other daughters?" Mulan asks.

"My three younger sisters" I tell her.

"They consider it an honour to marry in the cause of peace" father tells her.

"Your Majesty, I..." Mulan says looking apologetic.

"Apology accepted" my father tells her.

"General, how many troops do you estimate you will need to accomplish this mission?" father asks my fiance. Who looks at Honghui and they share a smile.

"Three" he states looking at my father.

"Companies?" father asks.

"Three men" Honghui corrects him and I smile. Shang nodding his head in agreement. I know the three men they are talking about.

"You surprise me. These are my children" father tells them.

"Relax father, they know what they are doing" I assure him.

"This mission does not call for force, but finesse" Shang tells him.

"We must become one with the countryside. The less men the easier that will be" Honghui states.

"As emperor, I trust you. As a father, I implore you to choose your three soldiers wisely" father tells them.

"I know just the men. Fearless" Shang says.

"Loyal" Mulan adds.

"Disciplined" Honghui adds.

"China's most honourable and noble soldiers" I finish. "I must go pack, Shang come with me. Honghui and Mulan please go get the soldiers" I order. They bow and leave. I take Shang to my room.

"Why are you coming?" Shang asks me once we're alone.

"They are my younger sisters and you are my fiance. I won't stay here and twiddle my thumbs worrying about you all" I tell him firmly. "You can't talk me out of this" I add.

"I know, but I wish you'd stay" he says as he hugs me. "I love you and don't want to see you get hurt" he tells me.

"I know and I love you Shang. We'll marry in a few months and I will become Empress of China. This might be my last chance to leave the city before our honeymoon" I tell him.

"Just stay by me, please" he pleads.

"Of course, maybe we can even elope" I say with a smile. I don't want a big huge wedding.

"Won't that upset your father?" he asks me.

"He doesn't have to know we married on the journey" I tell him matter of factly.

"Maybe" he says and kisses me tenderly. "I must go pack myself, see you at dinner" he tells me. I nod my head and kiss him again. Before letting him go and he left the room. I start packing my travel bag. I decide to bring Ebony, even though I'll spend most of the journey in the carriage with my sisters. Helping them prepare for their up and coming marriages. I know Su and Mei are taking it the hardest, without marrying for love like me.
