Phantom
"Hey where's Danny?" Maddie asks with a slight frown.
"We haven't seen him at all since yesterday, I assumed he was still in his room sleeping?" Sam answers a glimmer of fear flashing thought her eye as she glances to the stairs
"He had been a little nervous about the class being here," Tucker mutters glancing to the room they had left the rest of the highschool class waiting in.
"Ok well we can't really hold off anymore, do you two want to check up in his room while I get ready to take your class down to the lab," Maddie asks in a slightly concerned but demanding way as she brushes past to get the the living room.
"You check his room tuck I'm going to go call frost bite and ask if he knows where Danny is," Sam mutters glancing over her shoulder at the class and two eccentric ghost hunters.
With small nods the two part ways Tucker heading upstairs and Sam to the bathroom for some privacy.
"Ok kiddos, thank you all for coming today we are very excited to be able to share our research on all things ectoplasmic with you, we even have a suprise for later on, of you would please put these Hazmat suits on for your safety and then we can go down into the lab," Maddie greats the class. Jack glances around with a huge excited smile at the class the pauses.
"Hey Maddie, where's Danny Boy? It's not like him to miss an opportunity to hear us talk about our work?" Jack asks.
"Sam and Tucker are just going to get him now, he must have slept in," Maddie answers. Her mind going to the ghost which they had caught yesterday for the presentation today. How seemingly frightened he had been and how similar his behaviour had been to Danny's when he had been younger and frightened, brushing the thought aside she turns to the group again,
"Mr Baxter I'm afraid if you don't put the suit on properly you won't be allowed to go into the lab, for health and safety reasons we can't allow it," she sighs seeing the jock with the Hazmat suit on halfway with the arms of it tied around his waist.
The teen lets out a groan and begrudgingly pulls his arms through the sleeves and zips it up.
"Thank you, now let's get going shall we,
"What do you mean he is not in his room!?" Sam asks confused
"I mean he isn't in there, so he must either be out fighting a ghost, in the ghost zone or already in the lab..." Tucker says drifting off at the end of his sentence.
"You don't think they... I don't know actually got him, the guys in white?"
He asks quietly with a face of panic. They had all thought of the possibility of it happening one day and had agreed that if it ever were to come to it that Sam and Tucker should tell Maddie,
"If he isn't back by tomorrow we tell them, for now we should keep an eye of what they do today, just in case they try something stupid like dissect a ghost," Sam says slowly
"Welcome to the Fenton lab, to the far left you'll see our prized invention the portal to the ghost zone, we are unable to open it at this moment but we are currently working on preparing an expedition into the zone to research the resistancy of the ghosts. Here we have some of our other amazing inventions like the boomerang which locks onto ectoplasmic energy and follows it when throw, the ghost gabber whick translates ghost languages into English, and the spectre deflector belt which protects the wearer from spiritual posession." Maddie says in a tour guide like tone.
"Mrs Fenton what's behind that curtain?" Mikey asks pointing to the right. Just as Sam and Tucker join them,
"Oh that's the suprise I was talking about earlier, last night we managed to capture one of the ectoplasmic entities which haunts the town, we thought what better way to tell all you kids about our research than to see it first hand," Maddie says pulling out a tray of medical equipment, lined with different types of syringes filled with odd liquids, a few jars, one label iron, one labelled sodium chloride and one labelled ectoranium. A Petri dish with blood bossms on it, and other items which would be absolute torcher for a spirit.
Sam and Tucker's eyes widen at the sight as Maddie announces
"We will be experimenting on a spirit, to see what it's weakness are and what is most effective against it," she says cheerfully.
"Tucker, last time you saw Danny," Sam whispered her heart racing
"Last night, you?" He answers hoping she was not thinking what he was.
"Same" she mutters before dashing forward and pushing to the front as the curtain is pulled back. There chained to the wall In a small cell with ectoranium chains burning into his flesh around his ankle and handcuffs keeping him from using his powers to try escape. Was the spirit, huddled as far into the back corner of the cell as possible the ghost looked so small and so frightened, nothing like how the class had ever seen him before, his usually brave and heroic demeanor completely gone and replaced with a look of pure terror at what was seemingly to come. Danny Phantom made eye contact with Sam and Tucker and softly almost not even a whisper he spoke in a language unknown to the rest of the class.
"bonvolu ne lasi ilin vundi min," he lets out a shakey breath "mi timas,"
Sam and Tucker's eyes widen and they freeze thinking of a plan. Mr lancer frowns and turns to the ghost hunters.
"It's scared," he states, "and afraid your going to hurt it, will these experiments be harmful to the spirit?" He asks
Sam and Tucker share a glance at there teacher understanding what was said.
"ĉio estos bona, ni majestos, ke ili ne vundos vin," a says taking a step towards the cell and grabbing the bars.
"Samantha dear step back a little please, we don't want the spirit to attack anyone." Maddie says
"No. He would never, why you even think that? All he has ever done is save this town and now you have him scared to death in a cage locked up with chains that are literally burning into his flesh like he's some kind of dangerous animal, take one look at him and tell me that he is dangerous Maddie, I will not let you harm my friend!" She snaps at her freezing up slightly at the word friend.
"Samantha, you speak Esperanto?' lancer asks a mixture of pride and confusion at his students linguistic knowledge.
"What is Esperanto?" Jack asks the teacher
"Its a language used by ghosts, Alongside English Latin and ghost, most spirits are multilingual but some can only speak in one language," Phantom mutters looking down and pressing himself further back.
"I have a friend who can only speak in Esperanto so I learnt the language to communicate with them better," he adds almost more reminiscing on how he came to learn it than actually talking to the class.
"Ectoplasmic entities don't have friends, your incapable of feeling anything," Maddie frowns suddenly unsure of her research.
"What did Sam say to Phantom before?" Kwan asks.
"She told Phantom that it's ok and that they are not going to let anyone hurt him," lancer paraphrasses.
"Mu...ma...Mrs Fenton, I know you don't trust me but please, I Know it's probably difficult to hear but your research is not correct, the lower level entities you often catch may not feel Pain or anything but that doesn't mean no spirits can," he whimpers.
"If you go through with this..." He whisper trailing off and looking down.
"What would your son think," he concludes flinching slightly.
Maddie goes quiet as she notices Danny was still not with them.
"What have you done with my son, where is he!" She shouts. While the class turn to her slightly shocked at the outburst Phantom again flinches in panic, he raises his arms to cover his head as his breathing quickens and his eyes glaze over with the dampness of uncried tears. He lowers his arms slightly and opens his mouth but then closes it again. With a quick glance to Sam and Tucker he lets out a shaky sigh.
"mi devas diri ilin," he says softly and with a look of nervousness.
Sam frowns and Tucker's eyes widen.
"Don't you fucking dare, not like this," she hisses.
"Samantha language!" Lancer sighs
"What did he say?" Wes asks biting his lip
"I'm sorry, I'm really really sorry, please forgive me," Phantom sobs as the tears which had been blurring his vision finally fall.
"Danny don't do this," Sam says softly
But he just looks up to her and gives a smile.
"I'm so sorry," he mutters as the bluish white rings travel over him and his appearance changes back to the black haired blue eyed teen. A chorus of gasps floods the room as the boy sobs slightly louder.
"D-danny?" Maddie asks shocked.
