First Day of Classes

Esme got up early the first day of classes with Hermione. They went to breakfast together. Professor McGonagall  gave them their time table. They examined it before enjoying breakfast. Before leaving early to get to Transfiguration, not wanting to be late. They got a little lost along the way. But a few older female gryffindor students showed them the way.

Transfiguration was educational, Esme was intrigued by the thought of being able to turn into an animal. She wished to study it in more depth. Harry and Ron were late to class. But didn't lose any points.

Potions fascinated Esme even more then Transfiguration. Though she wished Snape was nicer to gryffindors. She had to take Neville to the hospital wing with another gryffindor after he blew up his own cauldron. The rest of the day was uneventful.

First Flying Lesson

Hermione confined in Esme her nervousness about flying. Esme on the other hand was excited to be able to fly. When Madame Hooch had to take Neville to the hospital wing. Draco Malfoy picked up Neville's rememebrall. He taunted Harry with it and took off on his broom. Harry followed on his. When Draco throw the remembrall, Harry dived to catch it.

When Harry landed Professor McGonagall appeared and took him away. Not long after Madame Hooch returned and the lesson resumed. After the gryffindors told her their head of house took Harry. When he returned that evening Esme heard that he had made their houses quidditch team. Hermione explained what she knew about the sport to her. Which wasn't much.

Halloween Troll

Esme has really enjoyed the first two months of school. But Draco seems to follow her and always be watching her. It creeps her out, but she hasn't told anyone. Her English is a lot better now and as is Hermione's French. They'll have conversations in their dorm room.

Anyway it's Halloween. One of Esme's faourite holidays. Her mother and Diana sent her muggle sweets. Which she shared with Hermione and their dorm mates before breakfast. After breakfast they went to Charms together. Where Esme sat with a Ravenclaw girl, while Hermione sat next to Ron. As there was a seating plan

They were going to perform the levitation charm today. Professor Flitwick quoted "The Levitation Charm is one of the first spells learnt by any young witch or wizard. With the charm a witch or wizard can make things fly with the flick of a wand. The charm is an excellent test of your magical skills, wand control and above all, patience".

He was right about that. Esme had trouble with the pronunciation and it was trying her patients. She heard Hermione correct Ron and demonstrate. She was the first in the class to be able to do it. She got ten points for gryffindor. In the end about two thirds of us were able to do the charm. Ron was not one of them.

Ron said some hurtful things about Hermione. Which Esme did not hear as she helped Flitwick collect the feathers. And asked him for some tips to help her with the pronunciation of spells in future. Before she went to her next class.

That night she went to the feast alone as Hermione refused to leave the bathroom. When she reached the great hall, she sat as far away from Ron as possible. As she had promised Hermione not to yell at him or curse him. Though she really wanted too. When Quirrell appeared talking about a troll in the dunegeon.

Esme sneaked off and ran to the toilet to warn Hermione. As they went to leave the troll entered the bathroom. They hide in the stalls and crawled under them heading for the door. When they arrived they discovered it was locked. The troll noticed them and tried to kill them. They screamed and duck it's club. Harry and Ron appeared. And saved them from the troll.

When the three professors appeared. Hermione and Esme took the blame. Losing house points. Which the boys got back. The four of them became best friends that night.

Gryffindor Vs Slytherin

Esme went with Hermione and Ron to Harry's first match. Part way through the match they were joined by Hagrid. Gryffindor was in the lead and Slytherin started to cheat. Harry lost control of his broom. Hermione believed Snape was jinxing it and went to stop him. It worked and Harry regained control of his broom in time to win the match for Gryffindor.

Christmas

Esme went home to spend Christmas with her mother and Diana. As did Hermione. While Harry and Ron stayed at Hogwarts. Hermione told them to search the restricted section for information on Nicholas Flamel. Over the winter break Hermione and her parents visited Esme for the New Year. After winter break Hermione and Esme rode together on the train back to school.

Nicholas Flamel/Norbert

They finally found out who Nicholas Flamel is. He made the Philosopher's stone. They knew it had to be the thing Fluffy, the three headed dog was guarding. But knew there had to be more defenses then that. So went to see and question Hagrid about it.

He told him about how the four heads of house, Quirrell and Dumbledore also put measures in place to protect the stone. After that they heard a rattle and he took a dragon egg out of a cauldron. They watched it hatch and he named it Norbert. But Draco saw and dobbed them in. But all five of them received detention.

Detention in the Forest

The five first years spent detention with Hagrid in the forest. Searching for an injured unicorn. They split into two groups. Esme went with Harry, Draco and Fang. She ignored the boys conversation focusing on the trial. When they came across a dark figure feeding on the dead unicorn. Draco screamed and ran with Fang.

Esme and Harry went to follow. But Harry fell over a tree root. Esme turned and knelt down to help him. A centaur named Firenze appeared and saved them both. Hagrid appeared with the others and thanked Firenze. Before they all returned to the castle.

Exams

Exams went better then expected. But Esme did have some trouble with some words. But believes she passed everything. After the exams she went with her friends to chill out by the lake when Harry had an epiphany. So they went to see Hagrid and discovered he had told the person who gave him Norbert how to get past Fluffy. They told McGonagall that someone was going to try to steal the stone. But she didn't believe them. So they decided to take mutters into their own hands.

Through the Trap Door

Neville tried to stop Esme and the trio from sneaking out of the common room. So Hermione put the body bind curse on him. They then went under Harry's invisibility cloak and went to the third floor. Where they found Fluffy asleep and a harp playing. They moved his paw and Esme went through first. The others followed narrowly escaping Fluffy.

They landed on devil's snare. Which they got out of thanks to Hermione. The next room Harry caught the key needed to unlock a locked door. The third room they had to play on a life size wizard chest board. Esme was made the queen, Ron a knight, Harry a bishop and Hermione a castle. They won after Ron sacrificed himself.

The next room had an unconscious troll. The one after it was Snape's test. It wasn't magic, but logic. Which Esme solved. She loved doing logic puzzles. But there was only enough of the potion to send one person on. So Harry went and the girls went back to Ron.

House Cup

Harry stopped Voldemort from getting the stone and Dumbledore found him unconscious. He ended up in the hospital wing. But was released in time for the end of year feast. Where Gryffindor miraculously won the house cup after starting the feast in last place. Needless to say Slytherin was very annoyed at being dethroned by gryffindor. But the rest of the school was thrilled by the event.

Train Ride Home

Before the train left Hagrid gave Harry a photo album of photos of his parents. Esme rode the train with the trio. But ran into Draco went she went to the loo. He said he knew her secret and hoped they could hang out more in the next year. Esme was shocked someone knew her family heritage. She hadn't even told her friends. She prayed Draco didn't tell them.
