Esme's POV

Diana is out shopping. While mum and I are home alone waiting for the representative. Minette comes into the room and jumps onto the window seal. Just then we hear something like a gunshot outside. Mum and I jump to our feet as Minette goes to hide. "Maman" I say a little scared.

"It'll be ok sweet heart" she tells me and there's a knock at the door. "Wait here" she tells me. I do so and she goes to answer the door. I hear her talking to someone. She returns with an elderly man in maroon robes.

"Bonjour mademoiselle Bourette, je suis professeur Dumbledore. Je serai ton directeur" he says in french. (Translation: Good Morning Miss Bourette, I am Professor Dumbledore. I will be your headmaster).

"Bonjour" I say. "What was that sound before maman?" I ask curious.

"That was me, I apparated here" Dumbledore tells me sheepishly. "I'm sorry for alarming you both" he says.

"It's fine" mum assures him. "Where are we going to go to get Esme's supplies?" she asks him.

"Diagon Alley" he says. "We'll be taking the muggle entrance" he states.

"Muggle?" I ask him.

"Non magic folk" he states. "In fact you are muggle-born. A witch born to two non-magical parents" he tells me.

"Am I the only muggle-born?" I ask him.

"Merlin no, there are many of you" he tells me. I sigh in relief. "Now we must be going, do you have a car?" he asks mum.

"Yes" she says.

"Good I shall place a spell on it, it'll drive us to the muggle entrance" he tells her. Mum goes to grab her purse and leave a note for Diana. Minette appears and I pick her up. "Who is this?" he asks me.

"Minette, I've had her since I was five. I'm bringing her to school" I tell him.

"I'm sure she'll love exploring the castle grounds" he tells me.

"Castle? Hogwarts is a castle?" I ask him.

"Yes" he tells me and mum rejoins us.

"Maman, I'm going to school at a castle" I tell her.

"That's great dear, put your shoes on" she tells me. I do so and we leave. Dumbledore taps the car with a wand and we are off to Diagon alley.

(Time skip)

We reach a pub called the Leaky Cauldron. Dumbledore leads us inside and to the a back room. "Now watch this closely" he tells me. He taps a brick three bricks up and two across from the bin. "Always the same brick and nothing changes here" he tells us. As a large archway appears. "Welcome to Diagon Alley" he tells us.

"Wow" I say.

"Where to first?" mum asks him.

"The bank, we must get money for Esme's books" he states.

"What's wrong with mum's money?" I ask him.

"It's muggle currency, which can be exchanged for wizarding currency. But for today we'll make a withdrawal from the muggle-born student vault" he tells us.

"Thank you, can you help me set up an account for her?" mum asks him. Dumbledore nods his head. We go to the bank and the cart ride was fun. Once we had the money, Dumbledore explained each coin. We go to a clothes shop to get myself measured for my robes.

"Professor McGonagall, how is it going with Miss Granger and her parents?" Dumbledore asks a stern looking witch.

"Quiet well Professor Dumbledore, this must be Miss Bourette and her mother" she says with a smile.

"That they are, Mrs and Miss Bourette. This is Professor McGonagall, deputy head mistress. As well as transfiguration teacher and head of gryffindor house" Dumbledore tells us.

"Pleasure" mum says shaking her hand.

"What's Gryffindor house?" I ask.

"The students are split into four hours. Hufflepuff, Gryffindor, Ravenclaw and Slytherin. Each has their own common room and dorm rooms" McGonagall states. She looks over at the Grangers. "I must go, I look forward to seeing you on September first" she tells me. Before going back over to the Grangers. I get measured for my robes.

We then went to get my books and school equipment. I got an extra book on Hogwarts. So that I can learn more about the school before September first. We go to the wand store and are greeted by Mr Ollivander. My wand arm is measured. I try several wands until a 9 and 1/2 cedar wand with a unicorn hair core choose me. We paid for it.

Then went to collect my robes. "Professor Dumbledore, what's with all the owls?" mum asks him intrigued.

"They are used to send letters in our world" he states.

"Really, maybe I should get one" mum muses.

"You don't have to, we have school owls your daughter can use to write to you" he tells her. She nods her head. We check my list and make sure I have everything. Then have some lunch.

Before we go home. We thanked Dumebledore and he left. I start to read my books with Diana's help. Until she has to go make dinner. So I continue to read alone. Reading Hogwarts a History.
