Chapter 35: I Like Her
YOONA
"Oh, Noona. Why aren't you with them outside?" I turned to my right and saw Mark. I gave him a small smile and looked at Luhan and the others who were training their powers and having one-on-one matches. We were both inside the dorms and we're both looking out from a window in the second floor.
"I already trained myself since this morning. I'm taking a break for the whole afternoon." I answered. Mark just gave an acknowledging nod and looked at the others.
"Noona, I'm glad you're back. It was hard trying not to act like I didn't know you before." Mark opened up, and I chuckled.
"Geez, Mark. Don't make me think about the past. Although you really did look cute in your uniform, back when we met in my university." I commented and ruffled his hair. He just swatted my hand and tried giving me a glare. I couldn't help but laugh.
"With or without memories, you're just the same. You did just that when we first met."
"I can't help it, little Mark. You're adorable."
The both of us laugh as memories back from the university resurfaced. This kid came to me casually, asking for directions since he said he was lost. Being the kind senior of his, I helped him then he suddenly talked about a lot of topics that I could relate, then eventually we got close.
But that was back when I was still Yanna. We really did have our first meeting in the university, but he actually already knew who I was, so he made that attempt to get close to me. Xiumin said that it was because of some plan they made. But the both of us bonded a lot.
With or without the memories, we were both already close.
"Say Mark, you did mention about this girl who hid her real intentions to you, Krystal, and Shawn. She tried to befriend you for that." When I suddenly talked about this mysterious girl, I noticed Mark's face suddenly pale. Since I was playing his fingers while we were talking, I instantly felt his nervousness with how his hands are cold.
"What about her?" He asked, his voice cold. I couldn't help but regret that I suddenly opened this topic but I need to ask this.
"May I, at least, know this girl's name? I wasn't really paying attention to what the others were saying yesterday." I noticed he bit his lip and his gaze went towards the ground. A couple of seconds passed, he still didn't answer. A pang of guilt washed over me and I sighed. "I'm sorry if you suddenly felt uncomfortable. Its just that I only remembered she had a Shin in her name. You don't have to answer —"
"Shin Lami, noona." He looked up slowly and I saw a weird glint in his eyes. Is he tearing up? "Her name's Shin Lami."
Shin Lami. Have I heard that name before?
"Say Mark, did you like her?" I looked at him in the eyes as I noticed both his eyes were watering. He looked down yet again. I slowly placed my hands on both his arms.
"Yes. Yes, I did." He muttered. I looked at his interior and couldn't help but feel hurt. I slowly pulled him to a hug, leaving the fact that he was just around my height. He placed his head on my shoulders and I could feel it wet a bit.
"You can cry it out, Mark. Let them out." I felt his hug tighten and another pang of guilt hit me like a bullet. I really should have not asked him about her.
He really, really, likes this mysterious girl.

MARK
"She was someone unique, noona. Our first meeting was unplanned. But I couldn't help but feel she was using me all this time just to get close with Krystal noona. Maybe the next meetings were planned, used to her advantage, or what. I don't know anymore." I blurted out, my tears falling down on their own accord. Yoona noona could only pat me in the back, urging me to go on.
"I want to hate her for using me as a bait. I want to hate her for tricking me and made me think we were friends. I want to hate her for fooling me. I hate that I didn't listen what my classmate told me about her. I want to hate her. I have to hate her." I slowly broke the hug and looked at noona, her eyes also tearing up a bit. She probably heard the agony in my voice.
"But you can't, is that what you're going to say?" She continued for me. I nodded at her.
She wiped the tears trying to cone out from her eyes and gave me a smile. She placed both of her hands on my shoulders and squeezed them a bit.
"I know what I'm about to say will probably create chaos but I know that its right." She then took a deep breath and looked at me straight in the eye. "Mark, if you really like her this much, don't give up on her. She's probably someone innocent who was forced against her will to follow that witch's tactics. She's probably trapped, doesn't have any clue what she put herself into. Mark," She then poi ted her index finger at my direction.
"Only you can save her out of this mess. Help her the moment you'll see her. Before its too late."
~~~~~
"I'm sorry." A faint voice apologized and I saw a silhouette of a woman. She was holding my hand. My eyes looked around and I realized we were in a familiar small pathway. I gazed back at the hand holding mine. Something inside me suddenly made me wish she wouldn't let go of it.
I tried to move my body to take a good look at the woman, but it seems like I was stuck on something and both of my legs can't move. I squinted my eyes at the silhouette, who suddenly let go of my hand and turned around, taking steps away from me.
I opened my mouth to say something, but nothing came out. It's as if my voice was lost and I couldn't find it.
And before I knew it, tears fell out of my eyes. I'm crying? Why?
The silhouette glanced at me, showing just half of her face, and light was drawn out of nowhere, revealing who she was. Shock was written on my face.
“Lami!” I shouted, regaining my once lost voice. “Lami! Don't leave! You're in danger!” How did I got this courage to speak?
“I am danger, Mark.” She lets out a small smile afterwards. “And its you who already left me.” She then continued to take steps, away from me.
She's walking away from me.
And I didn't do anything about it.
“LAMI!”
"Lami!" I jolted out of the bed, wide eyed. I suddenly felt sweat dripping from my forehead, going down faster as if they were racing. Wait a minute, sweat?
They're tears.
I covered my face with my hands and sobbed, letting out these grudging feelings inside me. I tried not to let any sound come out as I wept so Shawn hyung wouldn't wake up, who was sleeping from the bed beside mine.
Lami, why are you suddenly in my dream? Or was that a nightmare? I couldn't tell the difference.
I put my hands down and gripped the sheets, at the same time I made a decision. I don't care if Shawn hyung will get mad at me once he'll realize what stupidity I'm going to do.
I'm getting Lami free from that witch. Just you wait, Shin Lami.
