Chapter 34: Her

THIRD PERSON POV

"You know, its best if we'll take this way. I heard from Jihyo its a shortcut."

"Sana please, can you just stop with the talking and let's go? My legs are getting tired from walking."

"Well tell that to yourself, Tzuyu! You already kept on complaining even before we started walking!"

"Can't you just—Aish, just lead the way."

"So I thought."

The latter sighed in exhaustion as she just let her giddy friend lead the way by getting through the small narrow ways. Tzuyu clinged to Sana's arm, afraid of the icky walls from both sides of them.

Finally, they got to the other side and saw a view of a flat plane of green grass in front of them and a forest seen from afar. Tzuyu furrowed her eyebrows at the unfamiliar sight.

"Is this really where Yanna wants us to meet? She's been missing for the past month and now she wants us to meet with her out of nowhere?"

"That's what the text said. We're here anyways. She's probably in traffic. Just be glad that we've finally made it here and you can now let your lazy legs rest. If only Jihyo was here then we would have got here earlier than now." Sana rolled her eyes as she told this to Tzuyu and quickly pulled her phone out from the bag she was carrying.

Tzuyu could only groan in annoyance. She glanced at the watch on her wrist and her irritation grew when the clock said 10:45.

"Sana, its freaking quarter to ten. Where. Is. Yanna." Tzuyu asked, her voice filled with impatience and annoyance. Sana growled in anger as response.

"I'm trying to contact her okay?! Seriously, have some patience for once." Sana said, her patience already getting shorter.

"Well surprise Miss B, I have none! So just call her already so I could go home and get some beauty sleep like, hello? Tomorrow's a Wednesday!" Tzuyu retorted back, not wanting to wait anymore.

"Did you really think I don't know that, dummy? I know that its late but can't we just listen to what she wants first? After that we'll go straight home!"

"Oh, so you're being the kind and caring friend now, huh? Why are you just telling me this now when she's been missing for how many days?"

"Tzuyu, please. I feel like something bad happened to our friend, and she might be in trouble."

"If she's in trouble then why on earth she was able to send you a text?!"

"Just trust me on this, okay? Its not like something bad could happen in an open field."

"Tell me about it. Let's go ask that guy over there if he ever noticed a woman wait here." Tzuyu then pointed to a guy who was walking by the dark parts of an alleyway.  Sana looked over at the guy Tzuyu pointed and was about to walk towards him when a sudden click got in her mind.

'Why is a guy here? Jihyo said this is a property of her father's! No one can get in here!'

Sana instantly felt chills go down her spine and stopped Tzuyu from taking another step.

"Wait, you said its quarter to ten now right? Why would a person stay awake and is outside this late?" Sana asked, her voice slowly lace with worry. Tzuyu just realized what Sana meant and the two girls shared eye contact.

"What did Yanna text you?" The younger of the two nervously asked, her eyes slightly eyeing at the guy who seemed to be walking up to their direction. Sana turned her phone on and went to check her messages with Yanna.

"She said to meet her here, where no one knows where." She said out aloud, her voice cracking a bit.

Tzuyu's eyes were wide when the guy stopped walking, meters away from them. She felt chills went down her spine when the guy's eyes suddenly stared at hers with a glint of mischief in them.

"A-Are you sure that its Yanna who texted you?" Tzuyu asked again, her hands slowly around Sana's arms. Sana looked up at her and back to her phone, surfing through her contacts.

Her eyes went wide when she saw Yanna's contact number different from the number "Yanna" used to text her. She mentally cursed at herself. 'Why didn't I checked this out first?!'

"Uhm, f-flash news, I just checked and compared the numbers and you are right it isn't Yanna." Sana muttered, her words slipping out of her mouth as quick as lightning. But it was as if Tzuyu understood it right away as all blood from her body drained out of her and she could just clutch her older friend's arm tight.

"I. Hate. You." Was what Tzuyu told her and after that, they were both surrounded by big dark clouds, swirling them with a power of a hurricane.

They both shouted in fear and called out for help, but the dust circulated their bodies and suffocated them, making them lose their senses and consciousness.

The place then went clear again, with two bodies laying on the ground and a man standing right in front of them, his hand holding a lighter and a cigarette.

LAMI

"We'll miss you Lami. You were one of the top students in your batch. Its too bad you had to transfer." Miss Bora told me as she gave me a hug. I smiled at her and caressed her arms a bit.

"I'll miss you too Miss Bora. I just have some personal matters to attend to. I hope you understand." Was my reply to her. She sighed and patted my head a bit.

"You're really a sweet child. Come visit us again sometime, okay?" I nodded at what she said. After that, we bid our farewells and I quickly headed towards the gate. I clutched the big bag I brought with me which contained all of the stuffs inside my locker.

I heaved off a sigh and looked back at the school which used to be my second home. I teared up at the fact that I might not come back here anymore.

I didn't want to leave, but I don't really have a choice. Madam Jenny—or should I say Jezzy—already made her decision. I can't say no or else, she'll skin me alive.

"Good to see you're not planning to escape." I looked up and saw Mark giving out his usual evil smirk. I just avoided his gaze and gave him my bag. He shook his head mockingly and brought me to his car.

"Are we going tonight?" I asked him with a small voice. My breath hitched when he suddenly put his face closer to mine. His eyes still show that mysterious yet scary glint and I couldn't help but feel like a little scared chick under his gaze.

"Excited?" Then he formed his usual smirk. "Don't worry sweetheart, we'll get there. Besides, I know you are curious about your parents, right?"

I pushed his face away from me, my hand tense when I did that. I looked at him with a gaze cold and expressionless, as he touched his jaw and retorted back a glare.

"Hm, b*tch." He muttered and started the car engine. I hastily put my seatbelt on and looked out to the window. Gosh, he's a monster. But I wouldn't let him step to my line. Never.

As I gaze at the passing posts, buildings, cars and stores, a nostalgic feeling suddenly came upon me. Faces of familiar people and places started to appear inside my head, forming tears in my eyes.

I've lived by myself since I wanted to be independent. I used to live with my aunt and cousins but as soon as I got in highschool, I bid them goodbyes and stayed in an apartment. They did a great job in taking care for me, but I didn't want to be a burden to them for how long.

I've had this mindset ever since I was a young child. I don't know why or how I became like this but I just did, and I can't change it. Its probably because I've never really felt how its like to be spoiled by my parents and feel their love, like how my aunt treats her daughters, who are my cousins. Well, that's basically because I don't have any parents.

My aunt never gave me a proper answer whenever I ask her about my mother or father. She'd always change the subject or talk to another person right away. I quickly thought that maybe she doesn't like to talk about them and a possibility she hates them. That made me assume they're already gone.

But what Madam Jezzy told me when we first met, reflected my previous thoughts and I instantly agreed to be her puppet. Its not like I wanted to become one. But she said she knows who my parents are.

I didn't believe it at first, like who would suddenly believe a stranger? But she kept on coming to me, ruining my life and eventually threatening me. She kept on going on and on about my parents going to get tortured and killed if I don't follow her around. I kept my guard up and declined to her.

Not until one day, I went to visit my aunt back at their house and I found them inside, dead.

That was the last straw.

"Stop spacing out and move, b*tch." I got startled when Mark suddenly slammed the car door which made me unbuckle my seatbelt in a hurry and went out, scared.

Mark chuckled at my reaction and shoved my bag to my face. Thank goodness I was able to grab it before it would really hit my face. He started to walk away before I could even say something.

We entered the house and saw Madam Jezzy, her pose with her intimidating stare at us. I glanced behind her and saw some kind of whirling green smoke, which I assumed is a portal.

"We're leaving already?" Mark asked, his voice surprised. "But I didn't change yet!"

"You go or die. Which is best?" Madam talked back, shutting him up while I could feel my goosebumps go up. I tucked a strand of my short hair behind my ear out of nervousness.

"No more words? Then lets go. The time for my coming is almost there." Was what she said last and went through the whirling green smoke. Mark scoffed and entered next, hitting my shoulder through the process. I could only hiss at what he did.

I looked back to the door and heaved which might be my hundredth sigh today. The next events that will happen are obviously not good, and this isn't what I really want.

But I'm going in with that witch to avenge my family, and if they're alive, save my parents from her and her plans of taking over a kingdom.
