"Can you please return my notes now, i have to go home early today."

Rose grumbled and snatched the notebook from my hand. She's always in a hurry for some reason or another.

So, I looked at her with a desperate face and immediately replied.

"Hey I still have one page left."

"You can do it at home." She rebuked me and gave a cold gaze.

"But you know that I don't like doing this at home. That's why I am quickly trying to complete it."

"No means no Ren, not gonna give you my notes again, at least not today."

She replied and started packing her bag to leave.

This girl that I'm talking to right now is my best friend Rose Ashely. She is a little cranky at this moment but usually she's a free going spirit, who loves to annoy me. Well, I do the same to her though.

And the most amazing thing about her is that she lets me copy from her notes. Is she an angel? Yes! She is.. ignoring my overdramatic expressions for now.

"By the way Re…"
"Hey Ren, you done?"

And here comes my insensitive and overly enthusiastic friend disturbing Rose before she could even finish her sentence.

This boy is Aster Frost, my guy best friend. He is from the other class but we somehow got acquainted during our first year of college. And now it's nearly the end of our final year. Only a few days before we finally graduate. Time sure flies by when you are having fun.

"No, I still have one page left but whatever. I will do it at home or maybe tomorrow morning. Let's leave for now."

I replied to his question and started putting my stuff into my bag as well, but Rose bellowed in anger.

"No, you can't leave Ren. Not until you erase whatever rubbish you wrote on the board after the last lecture. It can get us in serious trouble, you know."

"Okay..okay.. I was just making a little fun of the professor and you laughed at it as well. It's not like he's good at teaching anyways." I giggled a little and went to erase the mess I made on the board.

"You sure love to shout at him, Rose."
"Well he deserves it."
"I guess that's right too. By the way you haven't replied to any of my messages Rose"
"Well I was.."

They sure are close, I sometimes wonder if these two are dating and I'm being a third wheel between them. And looking at the way they talk with each other, definitely smells like something is going on.

But my guy best friend and my girl best friend are together..ewww..

"Get a room, you two." I chortled as I saw them whispering to each other.

"Shut up Ren." They both shouted at me at the same time.

"See, you two are in sync." I replied and laughed again like I cracked some kind of funny joke.

"We are not dating, you idiot."

Rose snapped and threw a pen at me.

"And I am a dinosaur."  A clever comeback, sometimes I fear my own skill of making comments.

"Ren stop, you are making her more angry." Aster looked me into the eyes, as if trying to tell me that 'stop or she will kill you for sure'.

Maybe I provoked her way too much, Gosh.. it didn't turn out well so I turned back and started cleaning the board again. But before I could even finish that I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket.

I pulled it out and realised it's a message. But as soon as I read the name of the sender, I didn't knew how to react. Happiness took over my other expressions but I am also a little puzzled. It seemed too good to be possible. I clicked on it and opened the message.

'Hii Ren.. it's been a long time'

It's a message from Alyssa Fallon. The only friend I ever had in middle school. I was with her only for a year but somehow I still fell for her. Yes, she was my first love but back then I was a clueless kid who didn't know why I was feeling like that. And now looking at her message I can't think of any reply. What should i text, hii..or ask her how she got my info.. my mind went blank. And before I could send anything to her, I got another message.

'You looked happy, talking with your friends, enjoying your college life and erasing the jokes from the board.'

Wait, how did she know? Is she watching me from somewhere?

Buzz.. it's another message from her.

'I bet you are thinking how do I know. Well, it's a secret. Also, your puzzled face looks really cute.'
'Bye for now, I will message you again Ren.'

With this I heard someone running down the hallway, I don't know why but for some reason my mind assumed that it's got to be her. I dashed out of the classroom but there was no one to be found. Maybe that was me hallucinating.

I returned to the class and as I entered both Rose and Aster started staring at me and then Aster asked.

"Where did you run off to and why in such a rush?"

I explained what happened to both of them.

"So basically, the girl you had a crush on in middle school, whose face you can't even remember sent you some text and that got your pants on fire."

"No..look at these."

I showed him the messages I got from Alyssa.

"Well..well..look at this Rose, it seems like our little boy has a secret admirer."

He snatched the phone from my hand. I tried getting it back but he is just way stronger than me. He passed the phone to Rose while stopping me from getting it back.

"Well, aren't you getting popular? But why did she know that you were cleaning the board? Does she study at our school?" She gave my phone back.

"That's what I'm confused about Rose." I replied back to Rose while checking my stuff in my college backpack for one last time.

"Your girl, your problem. I'm leaving, you coming Rose?"

"Yes, let's go!"

"Goodbye.. Ren"

They both waved at me and left for home.

There's no point in thinking about what to reply to Alyssa, first I need to be calm and write a simple message and also try to get to know how she knew what I was doing.

'Yes, it's been a long time. Where are you and how did you know what I was doing?'

This should be good enough. Finally, I can leave for home now.

Now it's night and I'm at my house studying and waiting for her reply. I checked her account for more info but there was nothing to be found. It's like a totally fresh account. Maybe it's Rose or Aster playing a prank on me but again I never told them anything about Alyssa. So, it's got to be Alyssa, or that's what I want to believe.

It's not like I still have feelings for her. I just want to meet her, I want to know how she is. What's she doing? I just want to catch up just like old times.

Back then we were just middle schoolers so honestly I thought that maybe she had forgotten about me but knowing that she didn't is another level of happiness.

She was the only one to approach me. We got to know each other, we became friends and later I developed feelings for her but I didn't know if it's the same for her.

Not long after passing that grade, she transferred to another school. I was sad but there was nothing that I could have done. After that I didn't get along with anybody not until I joined this college and met those two idiots and now it's our final year. I can't believe that we have to say goodbye to college and to each other soon. It's a little sad that probably I won't be able to see them again but again that's just how life is.

I looked at the clock and it's already 8 PM. I needed to take a bath so I threw my phone on the bed and went straight to the bathroom.

After a quick fresh shower I returned to the room only to find 2 messages from Alyssa and 8 miss calls from Aster. It was pretty obvious between a long forgotten childhood friend and a best friend. Who's important? So, I replied straight to Alyssa without a second thought.

'I won't tell you how I found out what you were doing but I wanted to talk with you so, I decided to send a text instead..'

So, she isn't going to tell me huh..

I hopped onto the bed after reading it. I pulled the pillow and put it onto my lap to support my hands holding the phone.

'Are you a student at our school?'

I typed and sent this message to her but I was surprised to get a quick reply from her within a few seconds.

'Oh! You wanna know more about me huh..let me think...ok..'

'I will give you hints like an open book but it's up to you to understand them.'

'What do you mean Alyssa?'

I replied to her text wondering what she meant by that and she replied back within seconds again.

'Let's play a game and by the end of that game you will know more about me.'

'What game?' I replied.

'ALPHABETS'

'What alphabets?'

'It's a game..silly. We start off with A and go till Z. We will be writing something about ourselves for each Alphabet. But there's a rule.

Sounds interesting, it's a good way to get to know each other more. But i wonder what's the rule she is talking about.

'What's that rule?'

'You are not allowed to text any other message. If you want to comment on any alphabet you can do so while providing your own alphabet.'

'Sounds interesting. I'm in, When do we start?'

'I will start the game tomorrow, till then good night.'

'Ok, good night to you too Alyssa.'

It's surprisingly very easy to chat with her. Then why am I still Nervous?

Anyways it's time for the real challenge. I dialed Aster's number and waited till he picked up after 2 rings. Honestly, I wanted him to not accept the call.

With my low and a little shaky voice I said..

"Hello, Aster.."

"Where the hell were you? Were you taking a dump or something?"

"No..i was ju.."

He interrupted me mid sentence saying..

"Wherever doesn't matter now, I'm coming over to your house tomorrow, bye"

"Wait..Aster.."

And he ended the call.

Why the hell he's coming over to my place. And I have that game with Alyssa too. This weekend is gonna be a long one.
