Smriti's POV-

The next morning, I woke up only to do nothing much.

" Smriti, all of us will be leaving for office except for Chaitra and you because both of yours resignation has been accepted. Till then, you are free to do anything. Dad had to fly back to Delhi. There was some emergency. He will be back here tomorrow." Sunaina said.

" What will I do?" I asked.

" Enjoy." She said and left.

I called mumma and talked to her. I talked to Sanskaar too.

It was 11 and I was bored AF so I decided to head out.

I took a cab and went to Central Park. I had already called Chaitra there. He was bored too.

" Listen, get me something to eat." I said as soon as I spotted him.

" Get for yourself and me." He said.

I rolled my eyes and pulled him by his arm with me.

" You are really a lazy ass." I told him.

" As if, you are very active." He said sarcastically.

" Yeah, whatever." I said.

We spotted a cafe. I ordered a cheeseburger. He did too.

" What to do now?" I asked.

" How am I supposed to know?" He said.

" Exactly. How will a dumbo like you know?" I remarked.

" Not funny." He said.

" I never said that it was." I replied.

" Whatever." He muttered.

The rest of the afternoon, we roamed on the streets of New York for hunting demons. I pretended to be Clary Fairchild and Chaitra was Alec.

Yeah, yeah I know that I am being dramatic now.

It was 4 and we had killed lot's of time.

" I am tired now. Let's head back." I said.

" Yeah. Listen, Sunaina and I will be heading out today so don't forget to carry your apartment keys along with you if you go out somewhere today." He said.

I nodded absent-mindedly.

I took a cab and reached soon. Then my cell rang. It was Mia.

" You are still up for shopping right?" She asked.

" I am." I said.

" Good." She replied.

" Where am I supposed to come?" I questioned.

" I will pick you up. Don't worry." She said.

" Okay. I 'll send you my address." I told her.

" No need. Christian already knows." She said.

" Of course." I muttered.

" Okay, then see you." She said.

" Bye Mia." I said and hung up.

I decided to take a nap and headed to my room.

The only mistake I did was not putting an alarm.

I was abruptly woken up by the sound of the door bell.

It was Sunaina.

" I thought that you were heading out with Chaitra." I said.

" I cancelled. I am really very tired." She said.

" Then you can call him here. As it is, I am going out with Mia and Christian for shopping." I told her.

" Great idea. Will call him." She said.

I nodded. 

It was 5:45. I got ready.

Smriti's Attire-

The bell rang again. It was Mia.

" Let's go Smriti. Grandma, mom and Christian are in the car." Mia said.

I nodded.

" Aren't your friends coming?"She asked.

" They have plans." I told her.

She nodded understandingly.

I was about to take the backseat along with grandma when Mia jumped and sat there. I had no option but to hop in the passenger's seat, which was right next to the driver's seat and Christian was driving today.

" Ms Sharma, you are looking sexy." He whispered in my ears huskily making me go red.

" Smriti, we will be shopping for your wedding gown today." Grandma said.

" But wasn't it supposed to be done when mumma and papa would come here?" I questioned.

" I had a talk with Mrs Sharma and she was okay with this. Besides, it would have been very hectic if the shopping was scheduled just before the wedding." Grace said.

I nodded.

" To be honest, I really have no ideas about wedding gowns. All my life, I have seen brides in lehengas." I said.

" That's why I am here! To help you Smriti." Mia said.

I shot her a smile.

" Unluckily, we will have to shoo Christian away. He cannot see you in your wedding gown before the wedding day. It is bad luck." Mia said.

" Then why am I here? I could have asked Adam to drive all of you here." He said with a hint of irritation in his voice.

" Brother, we will select her wedding dress at the end. Initially, we are here to get your stuff. You are in dire need of casuals." Mia said.

" Not happening Mia." He said.

" And who will stop me?" She asked.

" I am driving back to my penthouse." Christian said.

" Don't you dare Christian Grey." Grandma said.

Mia smirked.

We reached the mall.

" Mia, your grandma and I are going to the have a look at the gowns. Till then, both of you can get stuff for Christian." Grace said.

Mia nodded.

We reached some high end store. Mia was having a look at some jackets when my phone went off. It was Manish sir. Why is he calling?

" Yes sir." I said, taking his call.

" Three of you are required to get back to Delhi. You will be going to Iraq. The situation there is getting out of hands. I want you, Sunaina and Chaitra here by tomorrow night. The rest will stay on mission there." Sir said.

" Okay sir. We will take the flight earliest flight possible back to home." I said.

" Your flight is at 3 A.M. according to the time there. The tickets will be mailed to you in sometime." Sir said.

" Okay sir." I said.

" Jai Hind." He said.

" Jai Hind sir." I said and he hing up.

I saw Christian standing right behind me.

" There is an emergency. I need to leave for India tomorrow." I told him.

" We need to talk." He said.

" Here?" I asked, perplexed.

" Come with me." He said.

I nodded and followed him.

" Is there a hidden motive behind the wedding?" He questioned.

I widened my eyes.

" Absolutely not." I said.

" I want the truth." He demanded, coming near me.

I took my steps backwards. Within a few moments, I was pinned to a wall.

" I am not lying." I said, looking into his eyes.

" Also, never try and remove this ring. This marks you mine and I don't want others to eye what's mine." He said, taking my hand in his.

I nodded like an obedient child.

He was leaning in to kiss me when my cell phone went off.

I distanced myself and took the call. It was Sunaina. I informed her about the situation.

" Christian, let's head back." I said.

He nodded.

" Where were you guys?" Mia asked as soon as she spotted us.

" Mia, I need to head back to India. There is an emergency." I told her.

" Fine. So Christian's shopping can wait. Let's get out wedding gown sorted first." She said.

" Fine." I replied and she dragged me.

After a lot of time and efforts, we were able to choose.

" I am sure that Christian will go all gaga over you on the wedding day." Mia said.

I blushed.

We then started heading back.

He had dropped Grandma, Grace and Mia back. We were on our way to my apartment.

We reached the apartment.

 He did not utter a word. I sat silently too.

It was getting uncomfortable, so I started heading out.

" Bye Mr Grey. Take care." I said without thinking.

Then, after realising what I said, I looked at his expressions.

He was clutching the steering wheel tightly.

" I am sorry." I muttered and made my way in.
