Smriti's POV-

We landed in New York. I don't understand why did we go back to India in the first place.

Smriti's attire-

" Smriti, you and Sunaina are in living in an apartment south to Central Park in Manhattan. " Rajat said.

We nodded.

Mansi and Lakshya were assigned The Bronx while Chaitra, Fahim and Rajat were in Brooklyn.

" Any problem, assemble in Mansi's and Lakshya's apartment. They are the most protected ones." Fahim said.

" Always stay connected through Bluetooth. " Lakshya said.

Sanjay sir was calling on my cell phone.

" Sir, we have landed." I said as soon as I took his call.

" Okay Ms Sharma. For now, you all can go to your apartments and rest. Further information will be intimated to you all by tomorrow morning." Sir said.

" Okay sir." I said.

" Make sure that no one gets to know who you are. Jai Hind." He said.

" Jai Hind." I replied and he hung up.

" Guys, we are not supposed to take any action until tomorrow morning. Sanjay sir will call us and then tell what to do. For now, we are free to go to our apartments." I said.

" Let's go then. I am jet lagged." Chaitra said.

" Take a cab." Fahim said.

We all nodded at each other and bid bye.

" Sunaina, you have the keys to the apartment right?" I asked.

" Yes. Now let's get a cab, everyone has already left." She said.

We hired a cab and started for the apartment.

And this is exactly ladies and gentlemen, where my bad luck kicked in.

" Smriti, bend down. I see your sister in law along with your husband in the car right next to us." She said.

I panicked.!!!!

I immediately ducked my head down. The driver eyed us suspiciously from the rear view mirror.

" Were you sleeping when god was gracing everyone with good luck?" Sunaina asked.

" I feel the same damn thing." I said.

She rolled her eyes.

" Why the hell are they following us?" I said.

" Smriti, for you kind information, this road is not owned by uncle. It is for public use." Sunaina said.

" Whatever." I muttered.

" Now stay like this until they are out of our view." She said.

I nodded.

After some 10 good minutes, they took a right turn and we drove straight.

" Thank god." I exclaimed.

" We really need to be careful." Sunaina said.

" Don't worry,I've got it all covered. If in the worst case anyone sees me, I have an excuse ready." I said.

" And what is it your highness?" She asked.

" I have work here at the Indian Embassy." I said proudly.

" Don't take pride in your idea so much. What if it fails?" She aked.

" Then you know that we are experts in making excuses on the spot." I said.

" True that." She agreed.

We chuckled.

" But still, we do need to take care." She said.

I nodded.

We reached the apartment within 40 minutes. Thank god, it is fully furnished with 2 rooms. I crashed in mine and Sunaina in hers.

The sun hit the window of my room before I expected.

" I really don't want to get up right now." I said to myself.

" Sweetheart! We don't have an option. Dad has called me al least 50 times this morning. Yeah, it is a different matter that I have not taken 30 of his calls as I was sleeping myself. Now we have to talk via conference call. He is going to instruct us about the next step." Sunaina said, entering my room.

I groaned, got up and went to the washroom to freshen up.

We then connected ourselves to conference call.

" Now as I feel that you all are completely awake, this is what you have to do. You will be appointed as interns in the company they are working in for 10 days. That way, you will be in direct contact with them and have easy access to their actions. They will be informed that you are here for the confidential mission. This way, there will be no grounds that they will doubt you. After 10 days, we will see what is to be done because if you stay at a post for more than 10 days, your actions will create suspicions in their minds. You all will work in the same company, but under different branches." Sanjay sir said.

" Which company is it sir?" Lakshya asked.

" Weber Enterprises." Sanjay sir said.

" Okay sir." I said.

" Sunaina, you will take up the marketing department, Mansi you will go with production department, Lakshya will be allotted Techicalities, Rajat goes with production department, Fahim takes up finance department, Chaitra will be in the Research and Development Department and Smriti will take up Public Relations." Sanjay sir said.

" Okay sir." Chaitra said.

" Jai Hind." He said.

" Jai Hind." We all chorused and he hung up.

" God! I hate corporate jobs." Mansi said.

" Don't we all? I mean, the only organization we love in RAW." I said.

" Guys! This calls for shopping. We need formal skirts and footwear." Sunaina said.

" You are right." I agreed.

We then went out to get some essential stuffs. Mansi also reached there.

" Guys, Sanjay sir has mailed our appointment letters." Mansi said.

" I don't know how sir manipulates his resources to get appointment letters of a company which is not assosiated at all with RAW." I said, amazed.

" Manish sir and dad. What to say!" Sunaina sighed dramatically.

" Oh My God. My fate is really doomed. It has not been more that 24 hours since I have landed here and this is the 2nd time I am spotting Christian."I said, as soon as I saw him getting out of the coffee shop.

" Smriti, hide behind my back. ASAP." Sunaina said.

I did as I was told.

Mansi and Sunaina were successful in hiding me but unfortunately, Mr Grey saw and recognized both of them.

He is walking towards us.

" Good morning Mr Grey." Mansi said.

" Good morning. Aren't you Smriti's acquaintances?" He asked.

" Oh yes! We are." Sunaina said.

" I thought that you all flew back to India." He said.

" No Mr Grey, we both stayed back for some official work." Mansi said.

He nodded.

" Enjoy your stay. If you have any problem, contact me. Take this." He said, handing over his business card.

" Thank you so much." Sunaina said.

" I will take your leave then." He said and I sighed in relief.

But no! My phone had to ring at the exact moment. It was Rajat.

Mr Grey, who was about to leave, suddenly got curious.

" One of your's phone is off." He said.

" Oh Yes, it's is Smriti's." Mansi casually said.

What the hell!!

Christian eyed them suspiciously.

" What she means is, that Smriti is calling her." Sunaina covered up.

Thank god.

" Okay then. Bye ladies."He said.

" Bye Mr Grey." Both of them said.

I waited to un- hide myself but found myself kicked in the leg.

I got this as a signal to wait.

After some 3 minutes, Sunaina turned around to face me.

" It was a quick save." Sunaina sighed.

" You stupid Mansi! You were literally about to get me killed." I said and hit her.

" I don't know what happened and goofed up." She said.

" It's okay. We will be careful." Sunaina said.

" Now let me call Rajat and ask him what made him call me." I said.

" Smriti, Sanjay sir is asking to join work like right now." Rajat said.

My eyes widened again.
