*Chapter Five* {Let the Right One in}

"I say we go to Pearl's, bust down the door, and annihilate the idiot that attacked us last night" Damon suggests simply.
"Yeah, and then what?" Stefan asks him watching Damon board up the window the two vampires had broken through the previous night. "We turn to the rest of that house of vampires and say, 'Oops, sorry'?" Stefan asks him.
"I can't believe you made a deal with her" Elena scoffs shaking her head.
"A deal was never made" Viktoria speaks up for the first time since the incident. Damon glances at his all too calm wife. She was sitting in her favorite chair being oddly silent. Both Damon and Stefan knew nothing good came from an angry yet silent Viktoria.
Only, anger isn't strong enough to describe the emotion's Viktoria is feeling. She felt livid, over come with rage. She wanted blood, she wanted revenge and by God she was going to get it. One way or another, the tomb vampires were going to die.
How?
Viktoria hasn't decided yet. She didn't know how she wanted to go about this situation. Would she simply slaughter the lot of them? Or would she play along with what Pearl wanted and kill them when they least expected it?
"It was more like a helpful exchange of information" Damon continues when Viktoria falls silent.
Elena can't help but to stare at Viktoria. The blonde vampire hadn't moved from her spot since Elena arrived. She simply sat there with a neutral face while swirling the remaining bourbon in her glass. There's a distant look in her eyes that left an unsettling feeling in the pit of Elena's stomach.
Elena doesn't know Viktoria all that well, they've only had one conversation. Damon's talked about her a lot but it's one thing to hear about someone and actually see them for yourself. One thing both Damon and Stefan seemed to agree on is that an angry Viktoria is a dangerous one.
"Besides, she's gonna help us find Katherine" Damon brought up gaining Stefan and Elena's attention.
"Katherine?" Stefan asks frowning his eyebrows. "Why do you care about Katherine?"
"I don't" Damon said nodding towards Viktoria.
"Why does she care?" Elena found herself asking before she could stop herself.
"Because, little girl," Viktoria says before drowning the rest of her drink. Elena suddenly wishes she were invisible as Viktoria's gaze turns onto her. "Katherine is the main reason why I was stuck in the filthy tomb for well over a century" She said as if it were obvious. "I want her head and Pearl said she would help me get it in exchange for my and Damon's services"
"We're gonna have to figure out a way to deal with Pearl and the vampires" Stefan tells them.
"I can't wait" Viktoria says with a sadistic grin. She stands from her seat and leaves the room. Damon follows after her.
"You wanna fill me in on that diabolical plan you have cooking in that perfect mind of yours?" Damon asks as they enter their room.
"Whatever do you mean?" She asks smirking to herself. Damon leans against the doorway and raises an eyebrow at her. "I haven't quite decided what I'm going to do yet"
"What we're going to do" Damon corrected her. Viktoria rolls her eyes. "What was that for?" He asks frowning his eyebrows.
"You and your brother could barely handle the two vampires that attacked us last night, why should I involve either of you in my plan?" Viktoria asks.
"Because there's a lot more of them than there are of you" Damon said as if it were obvious. "You may be older than all of them but you can still be over powered" Viktoria smirks and Damon gets the feeling that she knows something he doesn't.
"I'd love to see them try to kill me" She tells him.
"I wouldn't" He shakes his head moving closer to her.
"Don't worry, love" She says pecking his cheek. "They couldn't kill me no matter what they did" She whispers walking around him.
"Ok, enough with the secrecy" Damon could help but to snap. She stops walking and slowly turns back to him. "You're obviously very confident that they can't kill you," He tells her. "Not in the fact that you've got skills, because I know you do, but in the fact that it's simply impossible" He explains. "So, tell me, why can't they kill you?" He asks.
"Because I'm unkillable" She tells him simply.
"I'm gonna need more than that," Damon says nonchalantly. Viktoria stares at him and he stares back unwavering. "Look, I know you keep your secrets to keep me safe, I'm flattered" He said pressing his hands on his chest while moving closer to her. "But I want to know more about you, I need to know more about you" He tells her.
"You said that what you knew was enough" She whispers to him.
She remembered the conversation they had before they married. He knew she was a vampire, he knew she was special but that's the gist. He didn't know the details about her past, he didn't even know how she became a vampire.
"Things are different now, you know that" He whispers. He looks at her softly and gently takes her face within his hands. "Nothing you tell me will make me stop loving you,"
"You don't know that" She whispers shaking her head. "I've done things, Damon-"
"So, have I" He tells her. "We've both done terrible things, it comes with being a vampire," He shrugs. "I want to know about you just like you want to know about me,"
"I can't be killed by a regular stake" She whispers to him. "It just hurts" She tells him. "They wouldn't even be able to rip my heart out, they're not strong enough. Nor would they me strong enough to rip my head off."
"How?" He whispers. She gives him a small smile and leans in for a gentle kiss.
"You must tell no one of this" She whispers. "Not even Stefan, especially not Elena" She says looking into his eyes. "Promise me"
"I won't tell anyone" She smiles and pulls him into a hug.
"I want to tell you about my life," She says holding him tightly. "You have no idea how badly I want too" She says closing her eyes. "Just give me time, eventually you will know everything"
"I've got all the time in the world" He says kissing the side of her head rubbing her back. "Thank you for telling me that" She nods nuzzling her head into his neck. "I love you" He tells her as she pulls away from him. She smiles kissing his lips. "Be sure to involve me in whatever plan you cook up, I think it would be sexy to kick ass with you" He says winking at her.
"More like watching me kick ass while you stand there and look pretty" She says pecking his lips. "Like you said, we'll be severely outnumbered and unlike me, you can be killed" He pouts and she pats his cheek.
"You know, I'm not helpless" He tells her as she changes into something she can move around in better. "I can hold my own in a fight, I have survived this long" He points out.
"It's a wonder you have" She teases giving him a wink. He gasps dramatically.
"You wound me" He tells her. She grins and shakes her head while putting on her sneakers. "Going somewhere, love?"
"I think it was quite rude for that man to leave without his girl," She says standing up. "Did he expect us to dispose of her ourselves?" She smirks. She walks up to him and kisses his cheek. "Stay out of trouble, I'll be back."
"No promises" He calls after her.
"Stefan, what did you do with that girl?" Viktoria asks coming to the main floor.
"Uh, she's out back" He says confused not understanding her intentions. She simply smiles and thanks him before going to retrieve her.
"Ah, there you are" She mutters. She grabs the deceased vampire and throws her over her shoulder before disappearing in the woods. She stops at the edge and drops her body. She walks into town as if she wasn't just carrying a dead girl.
Soon, she finds Anna walking out of the Grill. She smirks and suddenly appears in front of the young girl. Anna gasps and takes a step back. Viktoria smirks happy to see the fear in her eyes.
"Take a walk with me, Anna" Viktoria says leaving no room for argument. Anna watches Viktoria walk towards the woods before following hesitantly. "This a friend of yours?" She questions kicking the dead girls body.
"Her and her boyfriend went against my mother's orders and attacked on their own accord, we didn't send them" Anna says quickly. Viktoria simply hums.
"This doesn't look good, Anna, I hope you know that" Viktoria tells her.
"We didn't sent them" Anna snaps.
"They're your responsibility" Viktoria tells her sternly. "You're in charge of them, you're supposed to keep them under control" She tells her.
"How does this affect our deal?" Anna asks calmly.
"The deal I have yet to accept?" Viktoria asks. "Well, if anything, it doesn't convince me to help you. If anything, it just makes me want to destroy the lot of you" Anna shifts nervously and opens her mouth to say something but Viktoria continues. "I have no problem killing all of you, whether you can find Katherine or not. But that's such a waste," Viktoria sighs and gives her a contemplating look. "On the other hand, they attacked my husband and brother-in-law, I can't have that"
"What do you want?" Anna asks quietly.
"I want you to control your vampires" Viktoria says walking up to her. "If something like this were to happen again, you and your mother should start running. Katerina has done a fairly good job at evading me and my brother, do you think you two could last as long?"
"This won't happen again" Anna tells her confidently. "I'll talk to my mother, I'll get them under control. You have my word"
"Oh, do I?" Viktoria smirks and Anna quickly regrets her words. "Well, in that case" Viktoria steps back. "Should you disappoint me again, there will be consequences" Viktoria warns before disappearing leaving Anna with the dead body.
"Mom, we've got a problem" Anna says over the phone. A few hours later Damon calls Viktoria saying something similar.
Viktoria had been taking a moment to herself to assess her thoughts. So much has happened she needed a moment to herself to figure out what she wanted to do. She still needed to decide what to do with Elena and now she's got these tomb vampires to figure out.
"What did you do?" Viktoria asks marching down the hall of Mystic Falls High School after Damon asked her to meet him there.
"Nothing, scouts honor" Viktoria frowns her eyebrows at his wording. "Never mind" Damon waves off. "Come on" He says leading her into a classroom where Elena and Alaric were.
"What's going on?" She asks.
"Stefan's in the house. Damon's a vampire. He can't get in." Elena explains. Viktoria pinches the bridge of her nose as she takes calming breaths. "We need you" She says to Alaric. "I would go, but-"
"But your life is valuable. Yours, on the other hand is-" Damon shrugs and Viktoria gives him an annoyed look.
"Let me get this straight" Viktoria says looking at her husband. "You found out that the tomb vampires took Stefan and instead of calling me right away," Damon shifts in his spot as she glares at him. "You pick up Elena, a human, and go there by yourself?"
"Well, looking back now, I see I should have called you-"
"You're damn right you should have called me" She snapped glaring at him. "What if they took you too? If they over powered you and forced you into the house?" She asks tilting her head. "Then we wouldn't only have Stefan to worry about but you"
"I wasn't thinking" Damon admits.
"Well, start" Viktoria snaps. "I just got out of that bloody tomb, I'm not losing you again" Damon gives her a small smile liking that she was worried about him but hating that she was angry, despite her being very sexy.
"You didn't lose me, I'm right here. I called you and now we're trying to think of a plan" Damon says giving her a sheepish smile. She gives him an annoyed look but doesn't say anything. Elena takes the moment to speak up.
"Stefan told me about your ring" Elena says to Alaric.
"What about it?" Alaric asks eyeing the married couple.
"Let me recap" Damon stepped in. "You tried to kill me, I defended myself. You died" He explains as if Alaric wasn't there himself. "Then according to my brother, your ring brought you back to life. Am I leaving anything out?"
"Yeah, the part where I try and kill you again. Only this time, I don't miss" Alaric threatens.
"You wouldn't get within five feet" Viktoria growls already angry and his threat wasn't helping. "And I won't make the mistake in letting you come back to life because there won't be anything left to come back too" Alaric tries to hold her gaze but he looks away.
"Mr. Saltzman, please, it's Stefan" Elena begged.
"I'm sorry, Elena. But it's not my problem" Alaric says shaking his head.
"That's a shame because the woman in charge of the crowd can help you find your wife" Damon tells him simply.
"You're lying" Alaric denies.
"Am I?" Damon challenges smirking. "Why don't you ask her for yourself? Coward. Come on, ladies" The three of them start to leave when Alaric speaks up.
"Alright! Wait, I'll go"
