One of my twin nieces said she wanted a puppy themed party. Specifically a Pomeranian puppy like the one she has.

I was worried about the design, but then remembered a wooden Pomeranian planter I had wanted, & used that design as my inspiration.

(I still want this planter, lol.)

My niece is a twin, so as I made her piñata I was making her sister's. I decided early on that they would be of similar size.

Since I don't have the planter, I had to eyeball the design and correct myself as I went along.

Originally the head was too wide, and the facial features too high up on the head.

I added the curls in front of the ears.

Here I traced the middle part of the piñata to make sure the butt of the piñata was big enough to cover it.

I originally was gonna have a curl shape at the bottom of the front and back panels, but ended up dropping that idea.

I also worked on two tail designs,
but decided to go with the simpler one.

Since the piñata is small
I didn't run the rope that far down.

And I made sure to match
it's color (teal) to the lanyard
the Pom would wear in the front.

Ran out of cups, so I taped together plastic shotglasses together.  🤷🏻‍♀️

I sprayed poster paper to match the rest of the piñata & cut it to fit around the center of the piñata.

I strategically stapled the different layers to one another, with a bit of glue in between.

To avoid the paper crinkling... honestly take your time layering the paint, & Don spray too closely. Take your time.

To get that midsection looking like strands of hair, I cut a piece of paper with spikes and layer it on the piñata while spraying it.

My mom did not allow me to add a butthole, lol.

The legs were skinny and weak, so I added foamboard in front and back.
