Venti (Genshin Impact)

Would be one of my favorite games if I didn't need to put myself in financial ruin in order to get new characters.

WARNING: LIGHT LEMON🍋

This is, of course, a male x male story I made for Pride Month, I hope you guys enjoy and let me know what you think.

Upon sapphire blue seas a ship sailed towards port, on sails heaved with wind and a crew eager to return home.

This particular ship held you in it's quarters, an eager sailor ready to return to familiar faces and places.

You lived as a modest fisherman until an opportunity to sail aboard a trade ship came to you, and you set out across the sea to far flung ships places, a journey that took you half a year.

More so than drink and home, you missed a particular friend, a bard who soothed your soul with his mere presence, and his music a sound so filled with life that you heard his harp play in your thoughts as you sailed across great expanses of ocean.

You impatiently waited for your ship to dock at port, unease filling you as you were more accustomed to heavy waves as opposed to calm shores.

In the midst of your anticipation, the ship captain called that they were in port, and you wanted no time heading on deck to see your home again.

Mondstadt, and upon feeling the wind hit your face you knew your home had welcomed you back.

You and the rest of the crew returned to the crew quarters to gather your things, among your belongings was a small wrapped box held with twine, a gift for your bard.

With the loud crash of the gangway striking the wood of the dock, you and the rest of the crew dispersed across the city to wherever your hearts desires to be now that you were all home, your heart in particular desired to see your dearest friend again, and you knew just where to find him.

You went for the Angel's Share, Mondstadt's local tavern which you found to be quite quaint compared to the less than ideal tavern's you went to overseas.

Your friend was an avid consumer of Dandelion Wine, and you could find him most days at the tavern indulging in his preferred delicacy.

You opened the door with a subtle creak, and found a modest number of patrons in the tavern.

It only took a few moments to find your friend, his outfit a bright green that stood out amongst the warm candlelights.

Venti, your dear friend and the finest bard in mondstadt.

You threw your arm up to wave at him, and Venti recognized you immediately, giving a warm smile that caused your heart to bounce.

You approached Venti and upon reaching his person, hugged him with a gentle yet longing hold.

You: Dearest friend, upon waves and wind I have arrived to see you again.

Venti, being ever so linguistic, replied.

Venti: You smell like a seal.

You smiled.

You: It is good to know that you haven't changed.

Venti: Not a bit.

You pulled the gift you had for Venti from your coat.

You: I got you something from a bar in the north, it's cold and strong.

Venti opened the gift to see a small bottle of alcohol, with enough content for two.

Venti: A drink! You know me so well.

You grabbed two glasses from your table.

You: No sense in watching it sit, let's drink.

Venti opened the lid of the bottle with a satisfying pop.

Venti: Way ahead of you sailor.

You held the glasses as Venti poured, a cold mist gliding across the edges of said glasses.

With a cheer and smiles, you both drank, and suddenly felt the strength of the exotic alcohol as it struck your taste buds.

Venti coughed for a moment, but swallowed the drink with a laugh.

Venti: North stuff is strong, sailor!

You: It surely is, I don't remember it being so powerful on my first experience.

Venti wiped his lip, and looked outside through a window to see that they had spent the whole day drinking and talking, as it was now night.

Not wanting to spend another night in the tavern, Venti opted bringing their reunion outside.

Venti: This place is getting too cramped, let's go outside, I know a place outside the city that's beautiful.

You were eager to continue your drinking outside, as open fresh air goes wonderfully with drink.

You both walked outside the city and across the bridge, then out into the open green fields that glowed with an emerald shine against the moonlight.

You: I missed this second only to you, Venti. These fields and stars.

Venti: No stars on the high seas?

You smiled.

You: Mostly clouds, and not many green fields either. Mostly water.

You both laughed as you came upon an overgrown stone wall that was waist high, seemingly meant to hold cattle in the adjoining field some time ago.

You both leaned against the wall, your hands pressing against the cold stone and soft vines as you continued to talk.

You: May I tell you something odd?

Venti: Why not?

You: When I was out at sea, surrounded on all sides by water and with only sails to keep me busy...I swear I heard your harp against the wind.

Venti: Really? What was the sound like?

You: It was peaceful, a mercy when uncertain waters could break my spirit. I heard the songs you would play for me on our old nights drinking, and I would see you...and you alone brought me such peace.

Venti sipped the last of his drink.

Venti: Sounds like I made it all bearable.

You inched closer to Venti, Him not knowing that you slipped your arm behind him.

You: You did...and in all honesty my dear friend...

You wrapped your arm under Venti's arm, pulling him slightly closer.

You: I loved every thought of you I had.

Venti blushed, putting his hand to your chest.

Venti: It's nice to know that you think of me as I do you.

You placed your forehead against Venti's own, enjoying a gentle silence where only the breeze through the field's grass flowed gently.

Venti: So...what kind of thoughts did you have specifically?

You: Mainly us...together.

Venti: Define together.

You looked in Venti's eyes, and in your sight he saw what you meant.

Venti: You know...no one ever comes through this way this late...and we can hide behind this wall...

You smiled nervously.

You: I've never been with another man.

Venti: Neither have I, but tonight seems like a night for adventure.

You both climbed over the wall, tossing your clothes aside as you went, the silence of the fields broken by the sounds of ecstasy induced howls.

Timeskip, some time later
You both laid bare on the grass, hidden behind the overgrown wall you had climbed.

Venti laid on your side with his arm across your chest, your face against his hair as you both gently held each other.

Suddenly, a light breeze came over the horizon, shades of grass and leaves on the wind as it passed you both.

You: There is that wind again.

Venti: It carries how much I care for you.

You smiled and leaned down to kiss Venti, you both with each other in the gentle breeze.

Happy Pride Month my friends!
Remember that you are loved and valid!
