Queen Maeve (The Boys)

I just started watching this show and debated wether I could make an interesting chapter from it, so I'm gonna try my best.

In humanity's grand sense of worth, on it's tiny rock upon the vast span of the universe, they though they lied in the center of it, unaware of how insignificant they truly were.

It was not exclusive, humanity's sense of worth, several other planets far from earth held similar feelings for themselves, right up until you arrived, The Terror From The Abyss.

You lived solely to conqueror, to bring planets of simple, mindless creatures under your tyrannical rule.

(Yep, you're Darkseid.)

While debating the real estate value of Mars, you stumbled upon a rover from Earth, and upon realizing it contained intelligent life, directed your armada to the home of humanity.

Upon arriving, you learned that earth did, in fact, not contain any intelligent life whatsoever.

Humans were enamored with 'heroes', buying their merchandise and seeing them as gods.

The only god you saw was yourself.

You wasted no time in leveling their cities, turning them into slave encampments as you continued your pillage of earth.

The heroes attempted to stop you, but a simple snap of your fingers rendered them nothing but bones under your feet.

Eventually, with the planet swiftly falling under your control, humanity sent a group of heroes called The Seven to stop you.

You personally mastered the individual torments for them all.

You put Translucent into a state of shift between his visible and invisible form, causing pain to strike every molecule of his body as he did.

You slowed the swift A-Train to a crawl, forcing him to run across your newly acquired planet at the speed of a tortoise.

You left The Deep on a desert planet with no water, removing his need for nourishment in order to prolong his dry suffering for as long as possible.

You sent Black Noir into a black hole, adjusting it to where his senses would be completely dark as he churned inside the singularity.

The leader of the Seven, Homelander, cursed you as you beat him into submission and reduced him into a quivering, weak husk of himself, making him your personal servant.

The only one you spared torment was Starlight, seeing her as too weak for your time, you sent her away into the destroyed world you now ruled, hoping she would create a rebellion you could later crush to keep you entertained.

The only remaining member of The Seven perplexed you, as even as you destroyed everything and everyone else who could pose a threat to you, she still lashed out from the chains you held her in within the throne room of your capital ship.

You thought on a torment for this 'Queen Maeve' that would suffice you.

Perhaps she could be chained near a red giant?

Maybe you could turn her to stone and add her to your collection of queens turned statues?

Or a simple execution? as those keep the servants amused.

You sat on your throne, deep in thought as Maeve looked at you with pure hatred in her heart, ready to at least attempt to attack you if given the chance.

Homelander, now your servant, handed you a glass of drink as you thought.

Your silence was broken by your admiral and advisor entering the throne room, bowing to you.

Admiral: Our progression into the last bases of the humans is nearly complete, you will soon have another fine planet to add to your empire, my lord.

You: a fine planet...

You looked out your window and saw earth now covered in fire and destruction.

You: Hardly.

Your advisor spoke in order to break you from your somber thoughts.

Advisor: this planet holds significant amounts of many valuable materials, which will certainly help the empire's intergalactic market.

You responded to your advisor with sarcasm.

You: As we desperately need wealth. You forget that we have a planet with vast amounts of gold.

Your advisor, one of your oldest allies, caught on to your distant demeanor.

Advisor: What troubles you my lord?

You: This...human.

Your advisor looked at Maeve as she sat chained to the floor, a look of hatred directed at him of equal ferocity to you.

Advisor: You have taken her powers, yes? Then execute her. The peasants love a good hanging.

You: That would be too simple, and besides, the fire in her eyes could be of benefit to us.

Maeve spit at you both.

Maeve: I'd rather die then serve you.

Advisor: Perhaps we make her a soldier? Your commanders never fail to break the wills of powerful warriors to serve you.

You went silent for a moment, then spoke up.

You: No...I have something else in mind.

You stood up from your throne, your royal robe draping behind you.

You walked over to Maeve and took her chin in your hand.

Maeve: Get your hands...off me...

You looked at the rebellious hero, and made a decision.

You: She will be my personal maid.

Maeve: What!?

Admiral and Advisor: Sir?

You: Her strength is her power, for her to be reduced to a simple peasant would be the perfect torment for who was once a god.

Maeve: I'd rather die...

You looked down at Maeve, who looked back up at you with terror in her eyes.

You: Would you?

Maeve looked down, realizing that you knew that her words didn't reflect her desire to live.

You: Then it's settled, you'll be my new personal servant, meaning that I now have a need for my current one.

Maeve watched in terror as you lifted the frail and feeble Homelander by his cape, locking eyes with him.

You: You should have known better than to believe yourself a god...

Your eyes lit to a foreboding purple, where a set of lasers shot from them, burning through the eyes of Homelander and through his skull.

You flung Homelander's lifeless body aside like a begotten toy.

You: For the only god here is me.

Maeve watched you return to your throne with fear in her eyes, unable to comprehend the being that just cut down the most powerful hero on earth.

You: Admiral, take my servant to the peasantry tailor and have a maid's garb made for her, allow her to keep her braces and crown as I find those flattering on her.

Admiral: Yes sir.

The admiral took Maeve away.

Admiral: You should be grateful human, our master isn't known for mercy.

Maeve was silent in fearful thought as her life as your maid began.

Timeskip, many months
Your forces had begun terraforming earth, returning it to it's once great splendor.

As this happened, you found yourself and Maeve forming an uneasy friendship, with small talk often going between you two as you saw to the matters of earth, which soon became hours long conversations.

Your mercy to Maeve perplexed your subordinates, all but your advisor who knew exactly why you spared her.

Your advisor met you shortly after a meeting with your commanders to speak on the matter of Maeve.

Advisor: My lord, if I may speak about your new servant.

You: You may always speak to me, as you are my closest friend.

Advisor: Excellent...you have feelings for the human don't you?

You turned to look at your advisor as a large explosion erupted on earth.

You: Of course not...

Advisor: With all due respect my lord, I've never seen you so friendly towards a servant.

You: It's simple conversation.

Advisor: Conversations that last for hours.

You relented.

You: Maeve is...different.

Advisor: How so?

You: She's fierce, defiant, even now she looks at me with rebellion in her eyes.

Advisor: Have you spoke to her about these feelings?

You: I'm far too busy.

Advisor: I can oversee your matters for the rest of the day.

You thought.

You: I'm not certain...

Advisor: Don't allow your stubbornness to your own emotions keep you from expressing them, just go (Y/N).

You were not use to someone saying your name.

You: Thank you...my friend.

You called for Maeve to be brought to your personal garden in the lower levels of your ship.

Timeskip, a few minutes
You sat on a bench in your garden, awaiting for Maeve to arrive.

You directed your worries of what to say inward, and found that you had your words planned out and prepared.

Then, you felt a light hand on your shoulder, and saw Maeve standing next to you.

You thought on the most romantic thing you could say in this moment.

You: Servant.

Maeve: Charming as always.

Maeve sat next to you.

Maeve: I heard that you called for me.

You: I did, I wish to discuss...thoughts.

Maeve: Thoughts?

You: Yes, this is a foreign concept to me.

Maeve: Me too, I'm not big on opening up.

You: Neither am I...and yet...

You stood up from the bench.

You: You know what this conversation is about, yes?

Maeve stood up and walked beside you.

Maeve: I do...and I don't know what to say.

You turned to look at Maeve.

You: I prefer not to allow others too close to me personally, however...I find my better judgements impaired when I'm around you.

Maeve stepped closer to you.

Maeve: I know how you feel...and I feel...but I don't know...

You took off your armored glove and took Maeve by the waist.

Maeve: I shouldn't love you...you took everything from me...

You: The universe is built on bad decisions, my dear.

You pulled Maeve into a deep kiss, the many colorful flowers blowing in the wind as you both gave into each other.

Maeve pulled back.

Maeve: Why...why do I love you?

You ran your hand through Maeve's crimson hair, admiring the way it shined against the golden sun of your home.

You: We are the same, you and I. We are all powerful with nothing but conquest to sate us.

Maeve, seemingly entranced by your touch, spoke up.

Maeve: We could try...being heroes.

You: Heroes?

Maeve: Yeah...we could be heroes...for the whole galaxy. However big it is.

You: An interesting thought...

You looked up, seeing several ships of varying designs come down to land aboard your ship.

You: Oh, the pilgrims are here.

Maeve: Pilgrims?

You: They make a yearly pilgrimage to me to give praise. I'm a god to many races.

Maeve: It must be tiring...

You thought.

You: By the stars it is.

You walked out to meet the pilgrims, while Maeve held your hand, both nervous and hopeful of what the future would hold with The Terror From The Abyss.
